He is an excellent painter.  I like the quality of his work.

As described above, initially it went well but when I was no longer available to supervise in person, he became very flaky and never finished the job. In fact his empty promises to finish only delayed me hiring someone else to finish the job.

I would highly recommend him to friends an family, and anyone else who wants a quality job. He was also one of the most competitive bids I received.

All in all very good.....We were very tough and demanding customers......
Our choices for paint and area's to be painted were not the easiest......
Richard and his crew got the job done as promised. The parts we were not satisfied with were redone and he came back again well after the job was finished when a couple of blemishes appeared.
Richard keeps his word to complete the job as quoted. The quality is very good. I would use him again!

Basically Richard isn't happy until you are. This was an extremely complex job after 14 years of non maintenance. We had major roof rot and several outside storage doors blown off. He brought in a carpenter who fixed these better than new. We had dry rot on some protruding beams, again looks like new. Having your inside painted is never pleasant but the guys moved our stuff to the middle of the room and did a careful job.
We asked another company for an estimate and it was like dealing with a zombie. Richard pointed out problems up front and asked us to engage on how they should be fixed. The other company. . . still haven't heard from them.
My wife and Richard had creative differences on what colors to use on accent trim. It's nice to see a painter with creative ideas. However since I would like to stay married, I won't comment about who had the better color sense. 
Richard's crew even moved a 55 gallon fish tank without spills (or worse). One day a friend arrived with a substantial amount of ahi which we split with crew and our freezer. It is Hawaii where such things happen but with your house painter?
I don't want to paint the house ever again but if I do, it will be with Richard.

Everything went well. They stuck to the plan and kept us informed on a daily basis.

Richard was very friendly and explained everything very clearly. His crew was very helpful and professional, as well.
