Even during the getting quotes process, Murakami Roofing was by far the most responsive in a punctual and professional manner.  Their pricing was reasonable in comparison to others.  The finished job was well-done, professional clean up and all workers were also professional.

They were professional, polite, and punctual. They replaced the roofing material with quality reflective architectural shingles and worked around my recently installed solar light tubes and exhaust fans. They covered the pool and cleaned up when they finished for the day and a mega clean up when the job was finished. I discovered some carpentry damage which needed attention and their carpenters did a good job on that as well. They arranged for my solar panels to removed and reinstalled as part  of their service and it was included in the price.

I want to start off by saying that I would give my highest recommendation, without reservation, to Murakami Roofing, assuming that all of the employees are as professional, up-and-up, and thorough as Keha. He inspected the roof, including the workmanship of the original homebuilder. He isolated the location of the likely cause of the leak and inspected/remedied that immediate area. He also informed me that the roof was in good shape and should be fine, as a whole, for the next few years. In other words, he didn't try to upsell me at all on anything I didn't need or inflate the scope of what it would take to remedy the leak. He's extremely honest in that regard, and a great ambassador for the company. He called a day in advance to confirm the appointment. He showed up 5 minutes earlier than our scheduled appointment time. And he was extremely prompt in how quickly he worked. I would absolutely do business with Murakami Roofing again for any future roofing needs. In fact, they are the first company I will turn to for any such needs in the future; and I'll gladly recommend friends and family to them as well.

Excellent response from my first call to Keha for an estimate. Excellent communications from Bernice in the office regarding options and scheduling. Excellent, on-time execution of the job by Vern and the crew, including Roger's Plumbing to remove/re-install the solar water panels. We're very happy with the services. Murakami's also paid for 50ft of new or replacement gutters installed by Akamai Rain Gutters. We ended up doing the rest of the house that was not already guttered at a great price and great service by Akamai.

Everything went pretty good. I went on the roof and checked it out, everything was done with great detail and craftsmanship. The only thing they should have done was a final walk through to check their work and make sure everything was cleaned up. They missed some minor stuff but nothing they couldn't handle in five minutes.

The roofers serviced the entire roof. They took all of the old roofing material off and put new roofing material on. From the very beginning, they were honest and professional and kept us apprised of the work done and the work which need completion. They cleaned up their mess when the work was completed. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Vendor was one of three from whom I got estimates for a spot repair job. I had been having periodic problems with a couple of spots on my roof that leaked in heavy rains, but my roof was over 14 years old. He was well under the highest estimate and slightly above the lowest. The estimator was professional and timely. He gave me several options from which to choose and I ultimately re-roofed completely, rather than do spot repairs as I originally thought I would do. There was no pressure, just solid common sense advice, and I determined that it was best to do a complete job in anticipation of installing a PV system across the roof subsequently. The crew of about 6-7 men finished in less than a day.
The job was scheduled and performed timely and quickly. The new roof seems to be done in a workmanlike manner. The only complaint I had was the mess left by the repair crew, which had failed to pick up scraps of roofing material and had caused leftover asphalt particles strewn over my deck. The crew should have covered the deck to collect the inevitable discharge of roofing material when removing the old roof. Instead, it performed the work, didn't clean up thoroughly and forced me to call it back to recon the surroundings of the house to recover strewn material (roofing material, tacks, and other material) several days later. I withheld final payment until the clean up was complete.
Overall, though the actual repair work and value of it was excellent.

A 5 workday job took 2 months to complete. A few days before the start date (Oct 8), Murakami called to say that they forgot to order the shingles, which would take 2 to 3 weeks to be shipped. After the job was started, it was found that they didn't order enough shingles. More shingles had to be ordered and shipped in taking another 2 to 3 weeks. Job was finally completed on Dec 10.
Communication between owner and crew and owner and customer needed improvement. Emails went unanswered. Contract called for ridge vents but crew didn't allow for it (contract price was later reduced). Specifically and repeatedly asked that no heavy equipment go on my lawn. Found a truck parked on my front yard.
Two plants were damaged. Some shingle bundles, which are very heavy, were tossed, not laid down causing some ceiling material to fall inside the house. Lots of roofing rubbish left in attic, including one cigarette butt.
Nails protruded thru eaves but Murakami did a good job of fixing that. So far, no leaks or shingles blown off roof.

Workers showed up on time and completed work in one day. Very happy with quality of work as promise. Clinton came to inspect the same day.

I have been around a lot of construction people and this company was amazing. The men all worked with very little chatter among them. This is the first time I have come across a construction crew that did not have a radio blasting, no yelling and no swearing. They took their lunch break of 30 minutes and was back to work. Because I was going to install new rain gutters they took down the old ones for me. I was very impressed with this company.
