Discount Windows & Doors

Working with this company has been a nightmare and I ended up paying $2300 for a door that's the wrong size and unusable. I ordered a custom sliding glass door early June, 2021. They said it would arrive in a month. Then they said two months. Discount Windows and Doors ordered from a manufacturer that was out of business and they didn't bother to check. They contacted us after many months and said they needed to reorder from a different manufacturer. We stayed patient and hung in there. They then gave the second manufacturer the wrong address and a door that was supposed to be shipped to our home, ended up on another island, Oahu. It took them another three months just to get it crated and sent to our island where we had to pick it up from the docks at our own expense. Finally over 9 months after ordering we have the door and the man we originally ordered it from had reversed the height and width. The company has fired the man we ordered from and they are taking zero responsibility for the mistake. They blame the pandemic for all the delays even though they weren't pandemic related. They blame us for not knowing that width is listed first with their industry so not picking up on the mistake their representative made. My husband worked in the art business where height is listed first. Everywhere else I have ordered anything, they make dimensions clear and normally have a visual representation. Order directly from a company who manufactures what you want and save yourself the pain, extra expense, aggravation and waste of time and money of working with these people. When I tried to address this with a phone call, the manager used bullying tactics I am familiar with as a licensed therapist. Horrible experience and horrible customer service.

Wrong widow size was delivered. The company left the wrong window on my property for over two months while I had to wait for the re-ordered replacement. I had to bring to the company's attention that the shipping costs were incorrectly charged due to the incorrect size being ordered. This is after I had to wait almost 3 months for the first window to be delivered. There was one resounding theme in every step of the way with every person involved in the transaction, and that was the phrase, "I'm just the..." I am just the salesman, I'm just the delivery guy, I'm just the warehouse manager, I'm just the installer, I'm just the.... no one person was able to take on my concerns. One day I called the owner of the company, and he hung up the phone on me. Apparently a common occurrence as reported on yelp by other disgruntled customers. To this day, my window's sliding rollers have not been installed.

Excellent, professional and punctual service. It took the entire day to replace all of our bedroom windows, but from the salesman's introduction to his product to the window installation, communication and care went into every step of the process. Very satisfied. The installation crew were courteous, professional and very neat in and around our home.

Very good experience. Excellent show room for a very good product. Friendly and knowledgeable sales staff. Good communication throughout the ordering, shipping, delivery and installation.

Excellent service and professional installment with an outstanding customized product. Mana was prompt and very good at describing product, and the contracted installers did a fantastic job. FYI: All windows were custom made, double paned, and hurricane rated to 180 mph, so there was a 6-week build/shipping wait period.

Months after I replaced my jalousie windows with self-cleaning windows from Discount Windows & Doors, I am amazed at how clean they are even though I have only washed them once!  They are beautiful and really keep the bedroom and living room areas much cooler.  Anthony and his team were so professional and had to do a lot of extra carpentry.   They even matched the paint.  I appreciated the advise on window selection.  I couldn't be more pleased with the product and the service.

and was truly amazed at the quality of the service from initial contact
to the final installation. They were professional, respectful, very
knowledgeable and certainly have the best windows that I saw in Hawaii.
The self cleaning glass works flawlessly and the temperature has dropped
20 degrees in my house. I have already referred them to a number of
friends and neighbors. I cannot say enough good things about them.

Sadly disappointed...
We did a major remodel with a second story addition. Our contractor took us to Discount Windows and Doors. We did not shop around like we should have. We purchased almost $15,000 worth of doors, pane windows, and jalousie windows. The sales guy made three errors in his advice to us.
1. He did not explain that we had choices in the Breezeway Jalousie windows regarding how many panes could be ganged together with each handle, consequently we have the factory standard configuration with three panes ganged together at the bottom with seven panes ganged together at the top. For the Hawaii trade wind rain showers, the windows should have three ganged at the top with seven below or five and five. Dumb lack of advice on the part of the sales agent.
2. The sales agent advised us to not order our fiberglass doors painted at the factory with the brown color we wanted to match
the house. He said we could paint them ourselves or have the house painter do them. Wrong. The professional house painter refused to paint the fiberglass doors. He said it is hard to keep the paint from peeling and we might void the warranty by changing the color. So we are stuck with white doors where we wanted brown doors.
3. The owner of Discount Windows and Doors strongly recommended a double awning window for a location that faced a
screened lanai where there is foot traffic. The windows stuck out at head height. Real head bangers. We paid approximately $1200 for this double awning window and ended up paying the contractor to remove it and installing a slider window.
After two years, we have one large fixed pane window whose frame has separated in the corner. Cant get Discount Windows and Doors to come out and inspect or to correct the problem.
Once we paid our invoices in full, it was hard to get Discount Windows and Doors management or staff to speak to us regarding questions or problems. Really had the feeling they regarded us as pests and not customers once the invoices were paid.
