Servpro of Hawaii

I was pleased with ServPro's work. The follow-up testing (by an independent inspector) showed that they indeed got rid of the mold. Mold remediation is not cheap, but from what I understand their price is about par for the course. Note that they do charge for an estimate ($150 for a verbal estimate and "ballpark" figure, $250 for a detailed written estimate). However, they credit back the fee if they actually do the work. I found this policy to be quite reasonable. In addition, Barrie (the General Manager) was quite willing to give me advice and outline the process of remediation even before I committed to using ServPro for the remediation. The main problem I had was communication and timeliness. I requested an estimate 3/4/2014, was told that the estimate could be done in the next few days, and didn't actually receive the estimate until 3/24. And then the work wasn't begun until 4/3. I do feel the problem was more with the Hilo office than with Barrie in Kamuela, who usually answered my emails in a timely manner. That being said, they were quite willing to work with my rather unique situation (being off-island at the time, having to arrange with friends for them to pick up the key, etc.). Anyway, with that one qualifier, I would definitely recommend ServPro to anyone who needs mold remediation. They are qualified and, in my experience, they end up doing a good job.
