Good initial repair job. Noticed some blemishes and he agreed to fix them free of charge. Initial review would have been a B, since the job took a few weeks longer than he estimated (although he would deny that). We also had an issue because he removed springs from the chairs and denied doing that.
Recent communication caused my review to plummet to F. Ron was combative, rude, and provided false information after I asked him to repair a joint that came apart. Here is the communication. Then he had the gall of accusing me of having a bad attitude, which is hilarious if you know me. I am truly flabbergasted at Ron's customer service approach. I could not recommend Ron's to anyone, which is sad.

Check your paperwork. We did not work on the area in question. I just checked our records, because I itemize every single thing that we did to your koa sofa frame (which is on the written estimate that I gave you). We only did termite repairs. We did not glue the backrest slats to the side or do any glue work, because that was not something that needed to be done. You asked me if we could do the work on site, and because I told you we couldn't, you brought on an attitude that I didn't appreciate, especially since we did not do any work to your backrest. You will need to have someone else help you with your repairs.

That is really unfortunate. This part of the repair only lasted for about 8 months (under very low usage/stress) and now I have to transport the item to and from your shop. That leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth, customer-wise. Are you willing to offer any options to transport the sofa to and/or from your shop? If not, I will probably wait until after 1/1/14 to find a way to bring it in.

Aloha Ron - You repaired this sofa (and our chairs) earlier this year. It is really hard for me to transport the sofa and hope that you would be willing and able to effect onsite repairs. Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks, Scott

I brought my chairs to their shop in Kaneohe, and requested new fabric be installed. They handed me an instruction sheet, explaining where I should go to choose the fabric. That was wise of Ron, because the fabric can't be any old thing, it needs to be a higher quality, stain resistant, etc. I went to the fabric store and chose the proper fabric, and Ron came to pick it up for me. Then Ron discovered some difficult problems with the chairs, and had to bring in an expert to fix them for me, and he didn't charge me extra for it! It took about 3 weeks, and now our old heirlooms are ready for another generation!

I needed the repair done quickly because I was moving a week later. I called Ron's and left a message. i was contacted several hours later by a very friendly and helpful assistant. Ron's can be hard to find so she emailed a detailed map. Ron's has a $75 minimum fee and they repaired it for that minimum price. I requested that the work be done within 4 days. They called the next day to tell me it was ready for pick up. It looks great and feels solid as new. I can't rate the price because I did not shop around to compare but the people there are friendly and the work they did for me was high quality.

I dropped off the chair at the shop on Kapaa Quarry road. Ron wasn't there, but he called me that afternoon with an estimate. He had to glue the leg back on and fill a space where the wood had splintered, then match up the finish color and re-attach the seat. When I went to pick it up a week later, I found his shop full of furniture in various states of repair/refinishing and a very clean environment. I'm pleased with the outcome and will call Ron first next time I need furniture repair.
