Kawai Mahoe

I had Kawai come out and give me an estimate on what he would charge me to install the carpet and padding in my house. He quoted me $500, and then when the work was finished he charged me $700. Kawai was very punctual and energetic which is great, but his actual work was horrible. I asked for my stairs to be wrapped and when I came to look at the work they waterfalled the stairs along with patchwork on the sides where the wall and carpet meet...the worker actually cut a small square and hot-glued it (not what I originally told him how I wanted the work to be done). The seams are very noticeable in many spots and the carpet was cut too short over by the bathrooms so you can see where the tile ended and where the carpet should be. I should have gone with Lowe's or Home Depot but against my better judgement went with someone who came highly recommended. I called Kawai to see if he could come take the carpet rake to blend the seams and left several messages and he never returned my call or my friends (the one who recommended him). I would not recommend him, or trust that he won't increase his bid when it's time to write the check.
