Work went well, all materials needed were in stock prior to my arrival.

Not well! When I picked up the car I complained about how the pedal felt wrong and it did not stop very well. I made arrangements to bring the car back the next day. When I went out to the car the next morning to take the car to Mike, I had a flat right front tire. I put air into it and went to Route 66 garage to get it fixed. Mike said that the tire had gone flat on him also and he thought it came in that way. Turns out that they did not check for clearance on the original wheel and brake calipers, so when tightening it, it broke the wheel!! That caused the leak and I had to buy a complete set of proper wheels that had proper clearance for the disc brakes. Mike had actually tried to grind off material from the calipers in hopes I wouldn't notice the clearance issues! After driving the car for a while I took it back complaining about the pedal going to the floor and poor stopping distances. They fixed a couple of leaks in the brake lines attaching to the master cylinder and re bled the brakes. This helped some but it still wouldn't stop correctly to my liking, but they said they didn't know what else to do and didn't want to mess with it any more . I don't drive the car much but after a while I couldn't stand it any longer and took it to another shop that had been referred to me. The master cylinder installed by Route 66 garage was incorrect for this application! Route 66 should have known this!! Someone (Me) could have been injured! The new shop replaced the master cylinder for one that was designed to work with front disc, rear drum. The car now is a delight to drive and I no longer worry about it's braking performance.

Nobody does it better. He finds parts and pieces for classic cars no one else can find. He makes the car better than it was when it came off the showroom floor
