Call Takase Doors on a Friday, and got a quote of $295 to replace my broken springs on my garage door.  They scheduled with me to come out and repair the next day, Saturday at 10am.  On Saturday, Takase doors called around 10am and said they would arrive in 15 minutes.  No problem for me as I was busy doing other things.  The technician arrived, introduced himself and went to work right away.  He replaced the springs in less than an hour and even repaired a latch that was missing a screw.  Adjusted the tension and said my original motor was still good.  Not sure if $300 is the going price, so that's why I gave it a B, so could be an A.  But I have used Takase doors now 3 times and have no complaints on their workmanship, professionalism, and quality.

The tech arrived a little early (always good).  He looked at the work and explain what he would be doing, what he would replace and about how long he needed.  We got out of his way and in just about an hour and half he was done.  He had removed the old motor and replaced it with a 3/4 HP w/backup battery.  These days with HECO providing less than stellar performance, there have been times when we had to manually open/close the door.  The back battery is worth the extra $90. 

The tech then went over and explained all the features, programmed the outside keypad and the 2 remotes.  He showed me the program key to press when I need to program one of our cars that has a built-in remote.  He also cleaned and lubricated the door including all the hinges.  The tech also said to be aware that when running on battery only, the door would open/close more slowly but otherwise it will work. 

We're completely satisfied and would definitely recommend them.  They have a presence here and affiliation w/the BBB.  They were responsive, easy to work with and accomodated my request to change install schedule.

One of the springs that lift the garage door broke in the morning. First place I called did not answer. Called Takase doors and they answered right away, and told him the problem and size of garage door. He gave a quote of about $300 (incl. tax) to replace both springs and service door, which was a good price compared to others listed on Angie's list. Said he could come out that afternoon and would call when he was on the way. Waited all afternoon, but he didn't call. I tried to call late in the afternoon to see if he still planned to come that day, but could only leave a message. Did not receive a call back that day and I was annoyed. He did call first thing the next morning and when asked why he didn't come the day before, he just said that was why he was calling now. No apology. Since his quote was about $100 less than others, decided to give him another chance. He said he would come between 8:30 and 9:30, and he did arrive in that window, and quickly went to work. It was a tight space to work in with the cross bar right next to the ceiling and it took about an hour. Replaced both springs and door is working fine now, and the work comes with a one-year warranty. Cost was exactly what was quoted, so I'm happy with the work and price.
