Keith Sakoda was a property manager that managed a property that I was renting. At first it seemed that Mr Sakoda was very professional when it came to getting me in the house. I am a Naval Officer and I received last minute orders away from Hawaii. I notified him of the orders once I found out and gave him 30 days notice. When it came time for me to leave the property he stopped communication with me and would not give me back my deposit. We did a walk through together and at the end of our turnover he said the house looks fine. Two days later he text me saying that he has multiple issues with how I turned the house over to him. Obviously I didn't understand this and asked him why he didn't bring this up while we were doing the walk through of the house. He knows I am in a position to where I am leaving the island within 2 weeks and he refuses to answer his phone (or return calls) and he will not return texts. I turned over the house to him in a better condition than when I received it. I am not sure if he is just paying me back for getting out of the lease which is not my fault because of my military orders. He has put me and my family in a very difficult position as we desperately need our $2300 deposit back before we move. If he treats me like this then I could only imagine how he treats potential sellers/buyers AFTER he gets you to sign the dotted line. I also paid full rent for the month of August and I moved out on the 25th of August and that is when we did the walk through for turnover. With that, he should have refunded me 6 days back. That amount would equal $450 and he is not paying that either as he only refunded me 3 days. This property manager turned out to be very dishonest and is basically stealing from my family.
