When I pulled into the resort to valet, I wasn't quite sure where to go so I asked one of the friendly bellman if they could point me in the right direction. Instead of just giving directions, he walked me to the salon where I was greeted by a friendly receptionist, Jane, who immediately offered me a beverage and took care of my parking validation. After getting my hot Chai Tea and Lilikoi cookies I was escorted to the back changing room where I changed into my comfortable robe that matched the decor. Then I was seated at the middle station and showed my stylist Anou the exact color and cut I was going for. I really like the color that Christina Hendricks wears on Mad Men but have not had much luck in getting the right color in the past. Anou took one look at the picture and assured me that he knew just what to do. I also like my hair very long and am SUPER picky about how much length comes off of my hair. He trimmed only off what was necessary to make it look healthy and gave my frizzy, curly hair a bouncy, shiny blowout. He also educated me on what type of products I should use on my hair at home when I style it myself and answered all of my questions about maintaining my color. I left with an Awapuhi Wild Ginger Shampoo, Deep Conditioner and Hydromist blowout spray. This salon is friendly, trendy and the stylists are all very considerate and helpful. The decor is all in Tiffany blue and browns with a coffee bar, well stocked retail area, massage room, manicure and pedicure station, a dim and serene shampoo area that they referred to as a "wash house" with candles, aromatherapy and a water feature. After my hair color, cut and blowout I decided last minute to get a manicure with Melissa, their nail tech. She is the sweetest girl and so gentle! I was so happy with all my services that I plan to come back for a massage with Noreen. The stylists all raved about her lomilomi deep tissue massage and she has a kamaaina rate. I had a wonderful experience here and can't wait to come back! Even with all these services and retail I didn't break my bank and got a 25% off rate for Kamaaina! I will be telling all of my friends about this salon! Look out Kahala!
