"We appreciate that you called back and apologized for the way you treated our office manager who reached out to you for two reasons: first, to explain that even though the invoice mentions the estimate, when it came to what was actually charged, we actually only charged you labor for the work we performed (we do not charge for estimates nor did we charge for additional time to come meet your architect); second to hopefully come to understanding and negotiate a mutually agreeable compromise. We appreciated that you asked us 15 months after the estimate was given if the estimate was still good. Costs have increased significantly and we took opportunity to adjust current material costs and labor costs per what we are currently charging. We did not realize that you were expecting us to hold the price from over a year ago. You did ask us in an email to reconsider the price increase but in that email, you had already begun to accuse us of unprofessionalism and "low balling". Because of friendships between some of our team and members of your family, we overlooked the harsh words in the email and reached out with a phone call. That phone call ended with our office manager in tears because she was accused of lying and there was no opportunity to rectify what was more of a resolvable misunderstanding. . . not the dishonesty and unprofessionalism that you are reporting in this review for all to see. We are truly disappointed, not for the lost work (the project was so small in scale) but that we were not able to service you to your satisfaction. We apologize for our part in the misunderstanding. Our office manager is a wonderful person and has integrity and character second to none and our team appreciates the apologies extended on your part."

Though I shop at Home Depot for much of my own personal lumber and hardware, we no longer purchase plumbing supplies there for a number of reasons. The biggest reason is that Home Depot does not sell plumbing supplies that are represented by local distributors that stand behind the product they sell on a number of levels. The only support Home Depot provides is a return policy. This is typically inadequate for the level of service we extend to our clients. If you provide the materials, we are happy to install it for you. As is true in most industries, typically flat rate hides many costs and is more expensive than time billing. For that reason, we recommend hiring us on a time and material basis. That usually results in the best value as our technicians are all super."
