Excellent! Bob is such a perfectionist and did the job as if it was his own roof. I’m totally impressed and so confident that this new roof will last another 20+ years. Being that this kamaina company has been in business for years and Bob doing the work himself makes all the difference.

When we were ready to either repair or replace our nearly 30 year old wood shake roof with a material that requires less maintenance, looked great, and would withstand Hawaii weather, we called and scheduled estimates with at least 5-6 roofing companies. Of those companies, 1 canceled and tried to reschedule, 1 was late, and the others never took the time to answer my questions and seemed to try to get me to buy the most expensive material because it was considered "the best". My excitement and eagerness to find a suitable contractor was beginning to fade and I figure that it wasn't the right time. I decided to give it one final attempt and came across Kimoto Roofing on Yelp. I messaged the company and got a call from the owner Rob within 10 minutes. On the phone he was polite, professional, and took the time to listen to my plans. From there he scheduled an appointment (next day) to come over in person and inspect my current roof and go over several options. Rob showed up on time, introduced himself and was very pleasant to talk to. He climbed up on my roof and inspected the entire roof. He took the time to show me areas of concern and agreed the the entire roof needed to be replaced rather than repair only certain areas. Many of the shake were missing, large areas showed signs of "burn thru", and a section was beginning to lift. Unlike the other contractors, Rob made several recommendations about materials that addressed all of our requests. I truly appreciated his professionalism and knew he was the one we wanted to go with. I received a estimate and was surprised how comparable his prices were. His company was not the cheapest but right in the middle of all the other estimates. Being a homeowner, you know the cheapest doesn't mean your getting a good deal! I felt the price was fair and signed the perposal. Rob called me that day and informed me that the materials and dumpster would be delivered the very next day and that they would start the following day. He made sure the materials were secure and covered just in case it rained. The following day his crew arrived and got straight to work. I was impressed on how efficient they were. The only time that they stopped was for a short lunch break. The entire roof was completed in 2 days as well as installing 2 solar fans. Once the job was finished, Rob came over and did one last inspection and made sure that all of the nails and screws were cleaned up. I was so impressed on how hard they worked I bought them all gift cards and told them to take their families out to dinner. They were not expecting this but living in Hawaii, you always show Aloha for a job well done. If I owned my own business, I would kill to have employees like that! I cannot express enough gratitude to Rob and his crew. My family can sleep easier at night knowing we have a quality roof overhead. I recommend his company to all of my family and friends! If you give him a chance you will not be disappointed!
