Kapalama Pet Hospital and Dr. Hirata have provided great healthcare for our dogs for the last 15 years. Mr. Z is an older dog and has been a part of our family since he was a puppy. Dr. Hirata has cared for him all of his life, and in his older years, Z has had some ups and down with his health. Recently, Mr. Z was not feeling well and had to visit Dr. Hirata on an unscheduled visit. The doctor took the time in his busy schedule to see Mr. Z and discovered that his gall bladder was causing problems. He recommended a course of treatment and followed up with his patient. Mr. Z has since recovered from this ailment and is alot better.
Dr. Hirata has always shown his compassion and care for our beloved family members time and again. He and his staff provide excellent care and will be there when needed. Dr. Hirata is a knowledgeable and caring doctor. He is honest about your pet's health and will tell you the good and the bad about their condition. Sometimes he can be rather direct about discussing your pet's health and he may not always give you good news or the answer that you want, but he will try his hardest to provide the best care that he can based on his concerns as well as yours.
Facilities are not too fancy, but they are clean and the staff are courteous and caring. As with most Vets, the prices are fair, but not inexpensive. In fairness, you cannot expect good quality care to be cheap, whether it is for you or your beloved pet. Dr. Hirata and the staff at Kapalama Pet Hospital will continue to take care of our pets for a long time.
