It went extremely well.
We had a roommate/tenant for a condo unit we own who was complaining that there were roaches (smaller ones, not the big 747 ones that fly) in his room. While we were skeptical of this, we called an exterminator as a precautionary measure to give the roommate peace of mind as he would only be here for a month. We initially called Terminix and another local terminator, but they both quoted extremely expensive prices, $150 for the initial treatment and an additional $90 for each additional treatment (done once every quarter). We decided to risk our money and go with someone on Angie's List that was had no reviews, as we wanted to see if someone could do it better for less.
Our initial call with the terminator was pleasant. He picked up within a couple rings and even came on a near last-minute appointment. We called him at 8:15 AM and explained the situation to him and he said he'll come by at 11:30 AM. 11:30 AM came and he was there right on time. He was very local, and I know some people would prefer that their professionals didn't speak pidgin English nor come in local attire, but him being local, yet professional with his knowledge was great for me.
After showing him the areas, he explained to us what he will do and gave us tips on things we could do to prevent further problems. He sprayed the drywall of our rooms with that chemical mentioned in the services provided and also told us about his experiences as someone who has contracted with Queen's Medical Center. He also applied additional bait to stop roaches from reproducing and also helped us identify the type of roaches we had. He also compared our unit versus previous units he had to service (pointing our unit was very clean and well kept and should barely have any roach problems in the first place) and pointed us potential problem areas to look out for just in case.
When we were done, he also pointed out to us he's a fully certified, licensed contractor and to let us know that if we had any questions to not be afraid to call him. He was very personable, easygoing and great to talk to and highly knowledgeable about the different type of pests that could infest a home. He does NOT do termite fumigations, but he does treatments for other types of pests, such as roaches, ants, rodents, etc. Definitely will refer my friends and family to him if they have any pest problems that need to be taken care of.
