I have much respect for Mr. Tim Mort and his Awesome Crew. Tim is well mannered, easy to talk with and explains all that a homeowner needs to know to make a good decision. His crew did an outstanding job! Each day the crew kindly greeted me. Their work ethics and great attitude is a testament to the close bond they have with Tim and w/ each other. My two story Ohana unit sits on a hillside behind the family house that is only accessible by foot, its a good hike up the cemented stairway. The Ohana unit was built in the early 1960's. The leftside of it's foundation dropped about five inches.

Foundation Systems did a great job shoring up my old house. This was not exactly a concrete repair, but the wooden posts on top of the concrete were bad. First off, they returned my inquiry quickly, and sent out Wade to look at the situation. Wade was professional, looked over the house, and answered my questions. Then, they put together a detailed quote, at a reasonable price within a short time. The final cost was exactly what they told me. The project was scheduled very  soon after I accepted the proposal. The total price is split up, that is 20 % is taken as a deposit, so this worked well for me.  Even though this was not a large job for this company, it was difficult because of the location and difficult access to the crawlspace. During the work, Wade checked in to make sure all was going well and my questions were answered. This is an old house, but the work crew was respectful of it and treated it with care.  Foreman Daniel was very cautious, keeping an eye on everything, several times checking to make sure that the process of jacking up the house corner was going well. I felt the house was in very capable hands. It also was a particularly dirty job, but despite the heat and undoubtedly the sheer exhaustion after crawling under the house, they cleaned up! And they left it better than it was. They replaced a very large old beam under the house, this was a relatively tricky job as it turned out, but they made sure that no damage was done to the house, and it is now secure and stable. After the job was finished, Wade came back to double check that all was good.  I would recommend Foundation Systems to anyone. 

I highly recommend Foundation Systems Hawaii for excavation and repair of underground problems like foundations, footings, sink holes, and retaining walls. My property had a sink hole near the slab footing which was never evident before and I was concerned it might de-stabilize the foundation of my single-family home. Wade met with me at the property during COVID-19 precautions and observed social distancing. He examined the area and offered to prepare a detailed quotation at no cost. The quotation arrived quickly but I had several questions. Wade responded to me via email, but also called my voicemail to relay the same answers. The quote was more than I expected, however I imagine less-expensive options would not be as professional. The job took longer than expected to schedule. Trust company policy required me to approve checks written in advance, but at no time did I worry that Foundation Systems would take the money and not complete the work. Once on-site, Wade texted me photos of the sinkhole. Unknown to anyone, there was an abandoned cesspool 10 feet deep. There was no choice but to fill the hole with concrete. I am satisfied with the work they performed and confident the problem is permanently resolved. Iâ d select this company again if the need should arise. You cannot be too careful when it comes to the safety of your foundation.

My family and I appreciated the experience we had working with this company to address the foundation issues with our home. We would happily use their services again and would recommend the company to anyone that asked. We were pleased with our interactions with project managers and also the professionalism of the crew and the quality of their work. They were impressive. They always showed up promptly when they said they would and they were courteous and polite to my family, my neighbors, and myself. They were as unobtrusive as I can imagine this type of work to be and they always cleaned up after themselves. We really appreciated the small details, such as reseeding the patches of our lawn that had gone muddy from the parking of equipment and the crew accessing the worksite. All in all, we got the impression that they truly take pride in their work.

The guys from Foundation Systems went above and beyond my expectations. First off, the process for choosing who I went with took me a couple years because of the design and planning, as well as the usual price and feel for the contractor considerations. My situation was very complex. It involved a hard to access job site (long driveway/tough curve to maneuver), a steep grade that had to be scaled up and down to drill, and a house on top of the area of work. Note: If you are building a home from scratch call a structural engineer and these guys first. You do not want to do this with a built home in the future. Tim was extremely patient throughout the two years. I would call him every couple months as I worked through other considerations in my planning. He was always super helpful and friendly. It should be noted, this was before I even had a permit in place. Once I completed the permit process, I reached out to Tim one final time to let him know I had decided to go with FS, but wanted to first have a meeting between all parties involved in the project: Foundation Systems, Greg from AGT construction, Tyler from JPB Engineering, and the mastermind architect, Jennifer Jackson of Jen Lee Design. Even before signing anything, Tim, and Wade from FS were super willing to help have these conversations with all parties to ensure everything was done right. Phase 1: I was nervous to start the project. I am a first time home buyer so all of this was learning on the fly. Wade came in and did a great job coordinating the job. He was super flexible with the scheduling of the start so I had adequate time to inform and prepare my neighbors. What I call the â first phaseâ was shotcreting the job site so that as the guys worked, further erosion under the house would not occur. Prior to the spraying of cement, the crew came in to prepare the job site. Using wattles and plywood, the bottom of the hill and house was setup to protect against additional to debris from spreading, as well as runoff from the spray going in my neighbors yard and system. When the day came to actually spray cement on the hillside, the guys were incredibly efficient in getting in and out. They were very friendly and courteous to my neighbors and left no mess once completed. If you know anything about backing a huge concrete truck into a confined space, and pumping a ton of concrete on to a hill side you can imagine the potential for a mess. They did everything to mitigate leftover concrete by laying plastic beneath the cement hoses. Phase 2: After the shotcrete dried, the crew of Galen, Kalae, Maka and Marcus were able to come in and do the heavy lifting of digging out the 12 holes that would serve for the micropiles, tiebacks, cement caps and pedestals. I cannot emphasize how impressed I am by this team. They were friendly, courteous, informative, knowledgeable, and not annoyed by all of the questions I had (I was nĪele), and instilled a lot of confidence in me that I made the right choice by going with FS. The nice thing is the guys were dedicated to the project and were not being bounced around to other sites, so they could expedite my project. Throughout the project they continued to coordinate with the other parties involved including the other contractors, engineers and architect to ensure as the work progressed, things were inline with the larger plan. I learned a lot from this project. One important thing you should know with a project of this scale is that adjustments will need to happen on the fly. FS was great about being flexible, and when something posed additional effort, I did not incur extra charges. They stood by their original comprehensive quote throughout any modifications. Once the work was completed, the cleanup job was amazing. My car port never looked cleaner! If I did this type of work again, I cannot emphasize enough that I would want no one but this crew.

Wade arrived at my property to give me a quote to level my house the same day I called. He promptly offered me two different quotes to choose from based on the extent of the work to be performed which I appreciate due to limited funds. Once on the schedule, the crew arrived and finished the job in one day. They cleaned up and left my property neater than they found it. I highly recommend Foundation Systems Hawaii.

I have a two story home in the back of a heavy rainfall area of Oahu and was not aware spalling concrete damage was happening to one corner of my home until one of the foundation cinder blocks started popping out from the others. Not knowing what was causing it, or what to do about it, I googled "foundation repair Oahu", and several companies came up. Although i contacted several to obtain a diagnosis and quote, only Wade from Foundation Systems Hawaii immediately responded, and within 24 hours had come to my home to diagnose the spalling problem, and another 24 hours to send a proposal. (I am still waiting for a proposal from a different company, who have been extremely slow to respond.) Within a week of accepting the proposal a very professional crew (Pono and Chad) expedited the repair work within one day. They were true artisans who take pride in their work, as the finished repair blends nicely with the rest of the foundation. I am impressed with Foundation Systems Hawaii, and although I do not have other quotes to compare their prices with, I can certainly recommend the quality, timeliness and willingness to go even beyond the terms of the contract to ensure a professional service.

The beginning of our search for a trustworthy and honest company to examine multiple cracks within the foundation of our home quickly brought forth Wade Whaley, Estimator and Project Manager for Foundation Systems Hawaii. We were invited to accompany him during the examination of the foundation and sat with him during his easy to follow assessment of the damage. Within days he provided us with a proposal which we considered to be fair, fit our budget and within the week Wade appeared with a impressing crew (with foreman). They were all easy to talk with, showed up promptly each day, kept us informed and completed the project within a week (right on) an made us feel that we were dealing with best of the best. We received a very comprehensible invoice from Kehau Faaumu, Business Manager during the following week and enjoyed discussing it with her following the receipt because she is very polite and demonstrated the attributes of a true "people person".
