It was perfect. I am a science major who knows nothing about business and even less about real estate transactions. Karyl made things easy. She explained everything in simple terms that made it less scary and easy to understand. I was concerned when she set the initial price a little higher than I wanted but she knew the market and we had offers within days of listing. At the end the property sold for more than I thought it would. There were a couple hiccups along the way but they were handled so quickly that it didn't affect the timing of the sale. The whole process to the completion of the sale went so fast it made my head spin. All along Karyl was there to explain things and calm me down. I would highly recommend Karyl to everyone who is selling their house.

Karyl not only helped up purchase our property on Mariners Ridge at a time that was critical because the sale of our previous home was pending, but after my husband passed away she helped me prepare the property for sale and market the property, having professional aerial photos taken, and help with staging. Their knowledge of the local market including the available lenders, title companies, inspectors, appraisers, etc, proved invaluable to us- in particular when we hit a few road bumps in the purchase process. When the house was sold, (it closed very quickly) Karyl helped move me and my cat into a temporary apartment while we looked at places in town. I was in no hurry and had scheduled several trips overseas, Karyl kept me up to date as to what was happening in the market and when I was home we looked at condominiums and apartments in Honolulu. I am happy to say that we closed on the unit I am now living in for a very competitive price, this unit has everything I wanted in a condominium. Beautiful building, parking, amenities, and a secure safe place that is pet friendly. Way to go Karyl. The moment I met Karyl, I knew she'd do a good job and I liked her. When husband and I moved to the mainland, Karyl made the transition smooth for us. She answered all our questions and guided us every step of the way. She kept us posted with every process. She also has a good handyman. She is reliable, knowledgeable, punctual and a professional. They said they would deposit the rent to my acct, and said it would there on the 10th, but it was not. Once in account it went to savings instead of checking as set up. I am unable to get ahold of the owner, and instead only get to speak with my property manager.

"As the owner of Choate Hawaii Real Estate, I spoke with [Member name removed] and took full responsibility for inadvertently mistyping an account number during the setup period. It was corrected immediately and funds were delivered in the normal course of business. As typical with most property management companies, checks are written on the 10th and sent to the owners. In this instance payment was sent via e-pay through the banking system, which means the bank mails the check to the payee. This caused a delay in which [Member name removed] was unaware. Since that time we have made a point to personally hand carry his check to his bank and make the deposit for him."

My wife and I had an amazing experience with Karyl Choate and her company. We spent an entire holiday weekend looking around Hawaii for a condo. Karyl has a rare combination of deep knowledge of real estate, attention to detail, and wonderful personality that became evident within the first few hours of meeting her. She guided us through the entire process from start to finish. Her company also does property management, and her colleague Cheryl has shown the same attention to detail as Karyl. Karyl Choate guided us through the many steps of buying our house. She did a tremendous job! Always on top of it and available to talk and meet with us. She showed us all houses in the area we selected. Once we found the one, we were a little doubtful because it was a foreclosure and we were very hesitant to deal with a bank. But Karyl guided us through the many forms and negotiations. Not only we found the right house, but through her negotiation we were also able to save money. We found the right house for us, at the right price, and the entire process (searching, negotiation and closing the deal) took approximately 2-3 months. That is a great success in a market with very low inventory like Hawaii.I wold strongly recommend Choate Hawaii Real Estate to others.

After reading over the few Angie's List evaluations for real estate agents in Windward Hawaii, we spotted Karyl Choate's company. We had less than five days in the islands to find a real estate before we had to leave the islands. From the start, Karyl was extremely professional. She helped us with excellent recommendations for a handyman to assist with minor repairs as well as with household removal services. The home was successfully placed on the market and despite the down economy, we were able to close out the property within a few months. Karyl personally worked with us every step of the way and kept us up to date with every twist and turn of the process. She is an outstanding professional and person and you will not regret for a moment entrusting her with your real estate needs.

Karyl Choate did extensive research on the market and recommended the right pricing. She also did research on the history of transactions in our building, recognizing that our ocean view added significantly more value than the square footage in the unit. She had the condo professionally staged and photographed so it showed beautifully on the internet. She maximized exposure to the market with advertising and open houses. Our unit sold fast to a qualified buyer and Karyl followed up on all the annoying stuff you have to do once the contract is signed. We could not have been happier. I would recommend Choate Hawaii Real Estate to anyone who wants a true professional to successfully market their property or to find them the best value in property in Hawaii.

Karyl Choate was a godsend to us, as first-time homebuyers. Despite several problems from the seller's side, due to the foreclosed nature of the property, Karyl steered us through the redtape and helped us obtain our dream home. A pleasure to work with, she displayed incredible patience and professionalism throughout our extended home search. This angel even remembered my birthday, surprising me with a gorgeous lei! Thanks to Karyl, we are now loving our new hale on the hill, treasuring peaceful, tiare-scented nights, the moon-splashed, palm-lined bay, and the comforting twinkle of quaint Kaneohe-Town lights.
