Akua Awa Hawaiian Carved Doors

Beautiful, unique doors, of high quality. Terrible customer service/coordination/no sense of professionalism or ownership of the project. Delays in responding to phone calls. He subcontracted the door hanging and concrete work and he did not oversee these subs so work was not coordinated, took 5 months to complete. Initially both subs arrived to work at the same time, ewhich meant they could not do their jobs. The subs were of reasonable quality, and pleasant. The concrete guy must have been to the site 8 times because he never brought the correct tools. Concrete guy cancelled at least that many times last minute. The door hanger was very professional but took a long time to come and complete the job, which required a re-do by him because the doors were not hung to meet in the center. Artist/contractor got in a screaming match with my husband and I at different times, and threatened to take the doors back which would have left our yard unprotected and freed our dog. I had to threaten a lawsuit. IF you expect a professional job buy the finished door from him and handle the installation yourself. DO NOT expect him to perform anything other than the crafting of the door as that is all he thinks he should do (although he offers these other services). We will never use him again and likely will never speak to him again
