Although it took over the weekend and part of the next week for them to do all the tests, calling and talking with me as we went through the several kinds of examinations, When they finished looking over the problem, they emailed me with a complete diagnosis and the cost for all the work that they will have to do to fix it back up to better than it ever was. I look forward to their help in the future, and they may indeed help me with all the information if I have to wait for a replacement from the junk yard. 
I have a friend who is willing to do the work for a cheaper rate, but if the purchase of a used or re-built part from a junk yard is my only option, I will have to promise him to pay the installation price twice, even if the warranty covers the cost of a replacement part. That's the reality of working with a professional shop, or working with someone who can do the installation, but would have to remove and replace even a warranty backed part, because he will have to do the work twice.
Although transmission tech offer a guarantee for their work, I still won't be able to pay the cost unless I get a loan. We will have to see what happens, but their work so far has been stellar!
