Alterations/Sewing/Decorating
Work was done with care in a timely fashion. Works out of her studio apartment, so changing happens in her bedroom which was a bit odd, but it was very clean and tidy.

Alterations/Sewing/Decorating
Based only on my initial phone call, I decided not to work with this person. I wanted a price for taking in an ordinary pair of jeans in the waist, seat, and length. She quoted $10 for the length, which was only part of what I needed. English is obviously not her first language. She would say things like, and quot;Twenty dollars what part I have to do.and quot; I could not get a clear answer as to what would be the total price. $30 is almost the cost of a new pair of jeans. After several times trying to get a complete price, the line went dead. I called her back in case the line loss was accidental, and her attitude was hostile. She said I complained too much. I think she decided I was too much trouble and she hung up. I could not imagine giving her any business.

I just had the WORST experience with Tammy. I read all the reviews before I went to her but unfortunately they are inaccurate. I called in ahead to time of double check if she does alterations for bridal dresses because I know its not everyones specialty. She said she does so I went in and we discussed what needed to be done. She called two weeks later to let me know she hasnt started yet which is fine because I am doing the alterations really early. I finally come in 3 weeks later, tried on the dress only to realize she cut my wedding gown too short and just brushed it off by saying go buy shorter shoes. I also found small stains on my dress in certain areas that I know I did not place there (Tammy lives, eats works and showers in the same small room, literally) In retrospect that should have been a sign that she might not be capable space wise and now mentally for this kind of job. When Tammy did the hem on the dress it was 1) too short and 2) sloppily done. It was cut and sewn all crooked and did not mimic the original hem at all! I also asked her to take in the dress from the back or sides at our original meeting and she happily said she can do. Whatever she tried to do in the back didnt work out so I asked if it would be easier for her to take in the sides then. She happily said yes and she can do that in 10 minutes. So I came back in 10 min, tried on the dress again and one side was poorly sewn and was falling apart! So she said, oh okay I will fix it. Then I realize she never fix the loose threading on the top part of the dress that I originally came in for her to do so asked her to please fix that too. Then she went WACKO and started yelling, yes YELLING. I'm asking for fix her bad sewing job that clearly was coming apart before our yes and to fix something we discussed at our original meeting that she forgot to do and shes upset? She began to fixed the threading with a vengence the whole time yelling horrible things at me and did a sloppy job not mimicking its original design then threw it at me and told me to "GIVE ME MY MONEY AND GET OUT" and said a whole bunch of nasty things, all so uncalled and unprofessional. Keep in mind, this whole entire time I have been nothing my nice and cool to her about everything even though I noticed the small stains (which i never mentioned to her because I didnt want any conflict) and even after I realized she cut my VERA WANG gown too short. I should be the one screaming but I treated her with respect and only kindly asked her to fix what was obviously wrong. I am not an aggressive person and hate violence so I asked her not to yell at me and to calm down and she just kept going at me and got nasty. Her mood drastically changed in a split second. I dont believe Tammy is capable mentally or physically to do her job well. The reviews below are inaccurate. They should double check their hem job.I double checked her work before I left and she went WACKO once she realized she did a crappy job and has to fix it. I have the unwearable dress if anyone wants to see it. This is an HONEST review and NOT EXAGERRATING. I do not reccomend her at all. She shouldnt be eating and sleeping on the same table she works on. This is what happens. Trust me. Dont go to her. I was nothing but courteous regardless of the crap job she did. I did not deserve to be yelled at and verbally attacked. I left shaking and horrified. My dress is ruined and it was horrible experience.

I was panicking because we ordered an expensive prom dress from an online store and the dress needed to be taken in through the bust. The date of the prom was fast approaching and no one I talked to could give me a recommendation for a business that did alterations. With only two weeks to spare, I looked up "alterations" in the phone book and called this business. The proprietor, Tammy, was professional, friendly, and very pleasant as she assured me that she was confident the dress could be fixed in plenty of time for the prom. Tammy's confidence and self-assuredness gave me the peace of mind to relax and trust in her abilities to get the job done. I dropped off the dress the next day. Tammy had my daughter try the dress on and saw the problem in the fit right away... the waist was alright but the bust was too big, which also made the back lace-up closure not close correctly. Tammy was very knowledgable and took the time to explained the steps she would take to fix the problem. She also assured us the dress would be ready on time. Tammy called about five days later, saying the dress was finished. The next day. we went to pick up the dress. The alterations were complete and the dress fit perfectly. The price was very reasonable considering all the work done on the dress.
