I do recall that we had spoken days before and I needed to cancel service . I did tell you when we first spoke that we were extremely busy and I don't think I can accommodate your request.I gave you a name of another reputable cleaning company that you could contact. You wanted us to still try and accommodate. The last thing that we or any company should do is OVERBOOK it leaves too much space for errors and carelessness. After losing to retirement my cleaning lady of the past dozen years, and because we heard good comments about the services of Angie?s List, we joined and then selected Kaui?s Cleaners, apparently the top-rated home cleaning service on your list. You can imagine my surprise when the experience did not go well. The highlights of our encounter are as follow:

* She cancelled the first walk-through.
* We rescheduled for a few days later, and although she was a bit late, we toured the home and pointed out a number of areas needing special attention. Mine is a very ordinary cleaning project, requiring a minimal to average amount of work. She
was given a typed list of the priorities, and we talked through the fairly extensive outline. We scoped out the breadth of her services, and I thought we had a meeting of the minds. The first job was scheduled for about a week later.
* She was about a half-hour late for a new cleaning job and did not call to indicate that she would be tardy.
* She brought with her about six or seven workers for me to meet although only two of them did the actual work.
* She failed to bring with her the typed instruction sheet, and instead of having workers organized and focused on what was to be done, we had to start over which created a disorganized approach to handling the work.
* The two workers did a good job. Although they missed a few spots, I felt satisfied.
* She charged $35 an hour per worker; this is almost 5 times the minimum wage for common labor.
* Upon completion, we discussed additional services and the timing going forward. She exhibited little interest in my objectives but instead wanted to impress upon me how they were going to operate in the future. This created an uncomfortable feeling in
what should have been an employer/employee discussion.
* There was some problem with the vacuum cleaner, which I did not understand. I have a puppy, and it did not satisfactorily pick up the dog hair.
* Surprisingly, she did not have her appointment book with her, and she indicated she would call me to set the next cleaning. That was about four weeks ago, and I have not heard from her.

"Dear mr. [Member Name Removed], I do apologize for cancelling our first estimate due to reasons that were discussed with you. When we did arrive my last crew member was 30 mins late. We cleaned the items on your list that was priority AND the items that were suspected to clean with time permitting (you wanted an hourly per maid hour cleaning) due to monetary constraints. We accommodated you more than needed. After we were done you paid me $140.00. You requested to have your carpets cleaned of all the dog urine stains and daily grime and do your windows. Because I knew of your monetary limitations I quoted only $100 more. You stated that it was too much. I went down to $75 and u still didn't budge. I then told u.you that I couldn't continue with you. You may have retired from the military but you also ran a lucrative business from home and I still was more than fair to you. Thank you and God Bless, Kaui"

The initial cleaning (a couple of years ago) was quite expensive, but thorough. Since that time, we have continued to have bi-weekly cleaning services as well as various extra services (windows etc). Kaui's team is always punctual, dependable and thorough. They are all friendly, professional and hard working. I expect to continue using the services of Kaui's Kleaners, and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone seeking dependable cleaning services.

You had requested some cleaning of the room and the bathroom that had been occupied by a 'Hoarder" as you refered to it. You had specifically requested that the room and the walls be wiped and the bathroom be scrubbed. Apparently you misunderstood my quote. Hopefully you found someone to fulfill your needs. Kaui was able to pencil us in on short notice when we were getting ready to move, which was great. the angie's list "discount" was figured in before I mentioned I had it, so whatever that's worth dont bother printing it out (don't need it). Price was higher than i'd liked for the condition of the house (she even said it was pretty clean, especially behind appliances) but didn't budge from her first estimate. all-in-all not a bad experience.

The apartment was being renovated, and new tile floors had been put in throughout the living area and the lanai. When the kitchen counters were replaced, the contractor left a lot of dust throughout the whole apartment. I don't think the windows and mirror walls had been cleaned in years. The morning of our appointment, Kaui let me know ahead of time that they would be about a half hour early. She arrived when she said with a crew of three helpers. The four of them worked a full two hours, and the place really looked great. They cleaned all of the soap scum off the tub surround and bathroom sink, and went the extra mile to remove items from drawers and clean them out. Kaui even found a silver platter in a fabric sleeve, that I didn't know existed. They got the dust off all the furniture, and the mirrors and windows were spotless -- which was amazing considering all the grime they had been coated with! When I saw the lanai, that was another jaw-drop. I thought I was going to have to paint the lanai walls, but the are so clean now, I won't have to. Kaui and her crew did an outstanding job on the whole place, and I am grateful.

Kauai's Kleaners came to provide an estimate and then were able to schedule the cleaning of our 1-bedroom unit the following day! They came, did the cleaning, and left the apartment without our ever having to be present. (A neighbor provided and returned to us the keys to enter the apartment.) We paid a deposit of 10% after the estimate, and then, after the cleaning was done, much to our surprise, we had to pay the remainder before they left the premises. We don't live nearby at all, so they were willing to let us pay the remainder to one of the workers by check at a place near our house. The fact that the balance must be paid that day (rather than mailing it in) should be made clear when making the arrangements. Other than the payment process, everything was very satisfactory. The price was more than we'd previously paid, but the work was fine. We were very happy with the time frame of the estimate/cleaning and with the work done. We will hire Kauai's Kleaners again, I'm sure!

"Ok..i understand that this home was built some odd years ago by loved Ok..i also understand that its hard to part with it and sell it, I completely understand how it feels. However, me and my team did a fantastic job on cleaning this old house. yes some corners in the shelves were missed. yes the stain thats been on your linoleum floors for over 4 years is not going to come off!! I think that your emotions were getting in the way of your judgement. Kaui's Kleaners is a superior cleaning company that has very high standards. We do not make careless errors. We are human and do miss an occasional railing or baseboard but when we return to clean it the client does not have us wait for them to speculate. That is why i just walked away from the remainder of the money owed.. You claim that you spent hours cleaning afterwards...huh just to fish for a refund you would go there? Their were people that came walking through while we cleaned your home and were amazed on how great it looked!! I recieved 2 referals that day.Well we cant please everyone!!
