Working with Don was great. He gave us a fair est. for the work that needed to be done. He was very respectful of our home, using clean drop cloths and doing a clean up at the end of each day. He removed all the old wallpaper, did dry wall repairs when needed and then did a great job putting up the new wallpaper. We would definitely call him again.

Overall, it went well.  He was very friendly and polite in his demeanor.   The wallpaper looked very nice on the walls, although the seams were not quite as neat as I've had from other wallpaper installers in the past.  He did clean up very thoroughly and left my house looking ready-to-go.  I would recommend him.  If you aren't too picky about the seams you will be very pleased.

He did a fine job.  It took several days.  He was conscientious, pleasant to work with.

From the estimate to the finish it went very well.  He even helped me make some decisions about some walls.  I will definitely be using him again and recommending him to friends.

Very courteous, on time, gave additional, free, helpful advice about future projects--including how I could do some myself and save money. He worked a LONG time on that stubborn wallpaper, cleaned up, and filled the areas where removal caused surface gouges (expected!). I do have to go back and add more filler but it is always hard to tell when filler is wet whether or not it will need a little touch up--especially when I plan to paint the wall and want a good surface. I would use this company again.

Don removed old fabric that had been upholstered to the walls decades ago in our new house, then he removed the VERY OLD wallpaper that was underneath. This task was incredibly tedious and involved hundreds of staples that needed to be removed, and Don persevered for several days until the task was complete when I'm certain many people would have jumped ship. He also applied wallpaper to our powder room, and it looks fabulous. While the prices for the removal project were on the higher side, I thought the quality of work and Don's professionalism were great. I will be calling him again for future projects.

If you need a  painter, a wallpaper or someone to repair drywall damage-- look no further.  Up Against the Wall has been my greatest Angie's List find.  I would recommend Don and his company to anyone.  Don is friendly, professional and his work is meticulous.  Don is an artist at his craft. He takes his work very seriously and it shows.  From the moment I met Don, I knew I could trust this aspect of my home renovation to him, and he did not disappoint.  Every day over the course of the 3 day project, Don emailed me updates to tell me what he had done and what was next on the docket. That kind of customer service is greatly valued but hard to find.  I could not be happier with the end result of Don's work.  The paint is perfect. The wallpaper looks gorgeous.  And, you'd never know there was anything wrong with my drywall. I wish Don did everything because he would be my "go to" guy.  We're already talking about repainting upstairs because the work Don did to the downstairs of our home gave it a huge facelift! A talented painter makes all the difference.  Trust your home to Don.  You'll be glad you did.  I am.

Don was great! He arrived exactly when he said he was for the free estimate and then gave me a very reasonable price. Then, the job was completed within two weeks, over just 2 days time. I'm a busy work-from-home professional who lives alone and was very grateful that he moved all the heavy furniture for me. I truly didn't have to do a thing but let him in, let him out and show him where the sink was so he could get water to work. Also, the rooms look great and paint-ready. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

The room is a half bath.  I thought the paper could go over the old wallpaper, but he said the old paper was coming up too easily.  He removed the old paper, did some minor drywall repairs, painted the walls with primer that I provided.  He check the walls for any damage (water, insects, etc) before he tried to install the new paper.  He didn't tell me that, but I could hear him tapping on the surfaces looking for soft drywall.  He also removed the small vanity to install the paper behind it.  The new paper was not-pre-pasted, and it was paper not vinyl or paper-vinyl mix.  It seemed to be a delicate paper, but he did a great job, and I think it looks fantastic.  The price was a little high for a tiny half bath, but in the end the work was done right.

Don came to our house to give us an estimate on installing a copper ceiling in our dining room tray. We had been turned down by several other "contractors" because they were afraid to do it since they never had before. Don right away told us "no problem" and we were set to go the following week. He did such an amazing job given the difficulty of the install! We love it and couldn't be happier. We will definitely use him again for any decorative wall work.

Don performed excellently.  On time, courteous, talented.  Worth every penny, and it only took about an hour!  We will use Up Against the Wall again, without a doubt.

Don is the best wallpaper guy that I have ever worked with.  He is honest, responsive and a perfectionist in his work.  The new wallpaper is beautiful and flawless.  I would hire him over and over.

Don did an excellent job and is a true delight to work with. Professional and has a great eye for color and symmetry. He was patient with my yappy dogs and great company while he was working. Don with Up Against The Wall in an extremely talented wall paper installer. First off, he provided me with an estimate and explained how he priced his projects very clearly and accurately. He was punctual and extremely courteous on the job site. There were a lot of different schedules and contractors to work around and he accommodated us very well. 
As I mentioned above, some of the papers were very challenging to install. There was a lot of of trimming and matching that needed to occur and large size papers that were hard to handle and install. He also installed a very complex hand painted paper which had to be installed exactly as it was designed or the entire lot of paper would be ruined. Everything turned out perfectly. If I had not used someone as experienced as Don, I know it would have been a challenge to complete the project.
I will use Don again on my future projects as he is the most competent wall paper installer I have worked with. I would trust him with any project, large or small, as I know he will execute the job perfectly. 

It went fabulous, Don was prompt, quick, friendly and profesional and he did a phenominal job.  My bedroom setup was nice but my walls were bland, they needed something...and sometihng a litle more than paint.  i found what I thought was a wonderful textured wall covering and then my task was picking the right contractor for the job.  I called Up Against the Wall. LLC, and Mr Don Moncreif came out to my condo and made an assessment. I gave him a deposit since I ws going to have to delay the application process, and he told me to call or email him when I was ready.  And I did.  oN 5 June my wall covering was applied to my wall and I have been happey about it every since.

They price they charge is reasonable. The guy that went to my house was very flexible. He did a very professional job. When I talked to him he immediately identified what was needed. He's a very professional guy.

Don is a true pro at wallpapering.  He clearly knew exactly what he was doing, and I left the house while he did his wrork.  I came back and everything was almost done, and it was a huge transformation.  I will recommend him to anyone wanting wall paper!
