Alex was extremely thorough. He took many photos to illustrate his comments. I am buying from out of state, and he spent about an hour on the phone with me after the inspection to go over his findings. He is knowledgeable, polite and helpful.

His name is Alex Bates. We were very impressed with him. He was very thorough, very personable, very helpful and friendly. I also liked that when he would find something, he had some multiple ideas about what could cause it. He would get another person to verify what the real originating source was. He didn't pretend to know every single thing about everything. I understand that it is a sign of a very good inspector because he really was very knowledgeable. He suspected a problem with the structure around the pool that was in the backyard. He said that it could either be that the drainage is not put in right. He was telling us what it could be, but he said that he would highly recommend a pool inspector because this could be a serious problem. He is also not afraid to tell us if we need an additional expert in a certain area. I had been told before I ever had a home inspection that it was a sign of a really good inspector when they would recommend another expert if needed. He knew what was wrong. He said that we really need someone to dig into this and take this retaining wall down on one part and look underneath to see how serious of an erosion and what is the real final thing. It did turn out to be a serious problem. He is very responsive. He calls us back right away. When we had the additional inspector come on that house, he spotted something else that was next to the pool that was a water problem on something. Alex had spotted it, but he suggested one other thing that could be an issue with that besides the thing that Alex suggested. We called Alex and explained it to him. He said that he agreed. He came and added that to his report and sent us another report. He did all this in one evening. We are actually going to use him again. The first house that we tried to buy fell through, so we are buying one now. We actually have the home inspection scheduled for Thursday this week.
