"Thank you for your review. It was our pleasure to assist with your mother's move."
"Thank you for the kind review. please let us know if we can ever be of assistance."
Richard Weimar
- Actual cost was 50% higher than estimate
- Movers were less than professional ? One physically intimidated my wife
- Dispatcher hung up on me
- Management was completely insensitive to the problems created by the movers ? a 26 foot truck stuck in our driveway that had to be towed
All of the problems generally stemmed from the extremely poor estimate of time and manpower allocated for our move. The estimate was for 6 men working 9 hours it ended up being 13.5 hours. This caused the men to be completely exhausted at the end of the day and they made numerous errors causing extra damage to our property and problems for them. Additionally, we have a very long and steep driveway, the rented truck they used got stuck and this caused them to work extra hard and become even more exhausted. We were extra careful and requested they check our new home?s driveway when we got their estimate. They assured us that the driveway would not be an issue. We later found out from the tow truck driver that the prior occupants used the same company and their truck was stuck then as well.
In addition to the 13.5 hours on the day we moved there were additional items that they could not fit on the two trucks we rented for the move (again poor estimate). These had to move the next day. They at least had the courtesy not to charge us for this additional effort, although, it did take the entire day to move these items. My day started at 9am when they told me to be at the house and then they did not arrive until close to 11am.
When I called the dispatcher (Grady) to find out where the truck was on the second day, first, I was lied to about departures and arrivals then when I questioned him, he hung up on me.
The movers from the second day started out very professional but as they got tired, the lead mover became very surly and physically intimidated my wife.
As I mentioned before they got a 26 foot truck stuck in our driveway and abandoned it around 11:30pm and left it overnight. They did not make it a priority until late the next morning. The truck was finally removed around noon, after causing considerable damage to our driveway, lawn & irrigation system.
The owner of the company (per - Georgia Pack & Load) came to our new home to pick up the truck and did not have the courtesy (or courage) to make an appearance. He snuck in got the truck and left without any apology. This is my reason for stating Management insensitivity to their customers.
Overall, this is a organization they tries to look and act professional but does not care about their clients or their property.
"First off we are always saddened by less than positive reviews. We strive hard to make sure that all of our moves go as smoothly as possible and that our customers have a positive experience in the end. We know that moving can be stressful and we give 100% effort to reduce that stress as much as possible. In saying that we do need to have cooperation from everyone involved. On this particular move, we provided an estimate based on what the customer said that was going to be moved. A lot of the items we were told were going to be sold or gotten rid of since they were downsizing their home. Usually in these cases the homeowner does what they say, but on occasion we find this doesn’t happen. In this particular case, the customer did not do what they said and consequently their move did take longer. Since they didn’t get rid of these items when didn’t send enough trucks. But in an effort to try and show some compassion we sent a crew back out the 2nd day to get the remaining items for FREE. Any other company would have charged the customer for this service, but we tried to go the extra mile to show that we care. I can also promise you that our dispatcher did not hang up on this customer. There would be no reason for us to hang up as we were taking care of his issues. This is simply a false statement, as well as the fact that our movers tried to intimidate his wife. There would be no reason for the guys to intimidate his wife. They were getting paid to do a move. What could they be frustrated about? It is true that our truck did get stuck on his driveway and we apologized for this. Nobody ever expects to get stuck, but it happens and we got the truck towed from his driveway the next morning. The owners did not go get the truck unstuck, we sent a tow truck, so I do not know where he gets the story that we tried to duck him. We did scrape his driveway where the truck got struck, but it is merely a surface scratch that does not effect the driveway at all. But in his eyes we need to replace his 20 year old driveway at a cost of $5900.00 as well as he says we damaged his fence at a repair of $750.00 which there is no way we could have damaged it as the truck wouldn’t go down his driveway. The customer also tried to claim some items were destroyed during his move which we were able to send out our repair guy that made simple repairs on his items. Again he as unhappy as he wanted new furniture instead. In closing I will summarize what happened on this move. The customer did not get rid of what they were supposed to. The move went longer, some we charged for, some we gave for FREE. He thought he should’ve gotten it all for free. The truck got stuck and scraped his driveway. We got the truck unstuck. He wanted a new driveway and fence and some new furniture and thought that he would use Angie’s List as a way to get what he wanted. This is a true case of FRAUD and we will not stoop to that level. We issued a fair settlement check for his issues and he wasn’t happy because we wouldn’t replace his driveway. That’s it in a nutshell. Our philosophy is that reasonable people can come to reasonable solutions. Obviously this was not the case with this customer."
"We are sorry you were not satisfied with your move. we were not made aware of handling your furniture "rough" until this review a year later nor were we notified of anything damaged.Obviously the unit was not properly dried before we moved it, thus the mold appeared. It is not good for a frig\freezer to sit with the doors opened as it puts a lot of stress on the hinge and can put the door out of alignment. as for the phone call, it must have been an important call as our crews are trained not to take personal calls on a job. We strive for 100% customer satisfaction but finding out about a problem 1 year later there is not much that can be done. Thank you for your business"
"Thank you for your business! unfortunately during a move damages do occur and we try to handle them as quickly as possible. Again we truly appreciate your business and thank you!"

"thank you for the kind words. we are so glad you have been satisfied with our performance so far. We do look forward to moving you into and being a part of the excitement of moving to your new home."
"We do not show this customer in our system nor do we have any employees with the names mentioned in this review. There is another company in Atlanta using the name Pack and Load which we feel this review may be for. Currently we are working with Angies List to remove this review and post it to the proper company. Sorry for any confusion this may cause."
"Thank you very much for your business. we do try our best to make moving as stress free as possible."
"thank you for your business but not really sure why we received a grade of c on price. we are usually right in the middle of the pack price wise."
"[member name removed], We are very sorry that your experience was less than perfect. I wish you would have let us know back in March that you were not completely satisfied. I would like to explain how the moving teams work. When you have any moving crew larger than a 2 man moving crew there is always one mover/supervisor that stays on the truck to pack the truck. I understand that you think he was not pulling his weight but this is how all moving companies work. You cannot have several different guys packing the truck or you could have a disaster on your hands. Again, we are very sorry that you were not 100% satisfied with your move, but if you will contact the office we will be glad to discuss this and try to come to a reasonable resolution."
"[removed member's name], Thank you for continuing to use our services. we rely upon repeat business."
"[Member name removed], Thank you for your business. we really appreciate it."
"we are sorry that the antique piece Had the leg broken. We try our utmost to protect all furniture from damage but unfortunately when you move household contents damages do sometime occur . Thank you for allowing us to repair the piece and satisfy you."
"Thank you again for your business. We are sorry that the printer was damaged but the insurance was provided free of charge(normally $188 for the coverage) please contact us to schedule a time and we will be happy to reassemble the treadmill."
review. The estimate was $2490 but the total costs of the move was $3200.00. The crew was very courteous during the course of a long days move. The following day we learned that in removing the refrigerator from our old residence they damaged water supply lines/plumbing that serviced the refrigerator. We requested that GA Pack and Load agree to consider repairs after affording them with the opportunity to inspect the damage with the consent of the new owners. GA Pack and Load handled the claim with professionalism and paid for the damage.
