Working with Mr. Finley and his crew was a delightful experience. All work was performed as promised. Debris containment & final cleanup were excellent. A great ending to a job well done.

Lani Finley is the owner of this family run business. He came out right away to give us the estimate. He was prepared for the meeting having already measured our roof by satellite. He gave a good presentation of his product and gave us as many discounts as he could give us (we did not qualify for a military discount). His price was lower and his product seemed better than another roofing company that gave us an estimate. I am very happy with the appearance of the new roof. As Mr. Finley will tell you, his family has been in the roofing business for a long time locally and they have an outstanding reputation for honesty, value and quality. They have a dedicated, long-term crew of workmen who do a great job. We are very happy we chose this company to replace our roof.
Another reason we chose this company is that two years ago we had a roof leak and thought we needed a new roof at that time. Lani Finley told us we just needed to repair the roof, not replace it. He could have sold us a new roof two years ago but he was honest and referred us to a roof repairman instead. I was so impressed by his honesty that I made a mental note two years ago to call him when the time came to replace the roof so that's why he was one of the two estimates we obtained.

My experience with Finley's Roofing could not have been better.  From my very first phone inquiry, it was clear that not only do they know their trade - but they value each conversation or interaction with a prospective customer as a way to earn the opportunity for my business.   Finley's was the first company I called.  I did take the opportunity to seek quotes from other companies in the weeks following that first inquiry, including some on this list.  Surprisingly, some never returned my call.  Lani and his team however continued to build on that positive first impression at ever step of the way.  At no time did I feel any pressure to choose a specific product or even select them as my contractor.  When I was finally able to visit the job site at lunch on the second day of the project, the roof looked amazing and I think the yard was cleaner than when they started.  Honestly, you would never have known the crew was there within the prior hour if it weren't for the fantastic curb appeal of a new roof.  Finley Roofing gets the highest possible rating from me and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone in need of roofing repairs or replacement.

Mr Finley came out personally for the original assessment, and stated that my roof could be measured via satellite.  I was later told that the trees in the yard confounded that ability, so another visit was made to take measurements manually.  Mr. Finley underbid the competition (3 roofer bid) while at the same time offering a better quality agreement (both materials and services offered).  Once Mr. Finley was ready, I had to postpone the appointments we made several times due to a job change at my end.  Mr. Finley was very accommodating with the back and forth of my delays.  When the day arrived, all aspects of the job staging and execution were  smooth and polish.  Mr. Finley later called me to assure that I had all the information I needed to pursue my military discount from the shingle manufacturer.  A class act all the way.  Roof appears great, My wife and I are quite happy.

Lani Finley was very friendly, courteous and very informed about the services and products we needed.  He thoroughly explained our options and provided suggestions.  We explained our concern about possible damage to our garden beds surrounding the house and he explained the practices they use to protect them.  We were very impressed with the care that his crew took protecting the plants.

The roofing crew showed up on time, and performed a very professional, quality job.  Throughout the project, Mr. Finley would regularly contact us to ensure things were going well.  After the installation, the crew went to great effort to make sure every thing was cleaned up.  We couldn't have been more happier with Mr. Finley, his roofing crew or the, subsequent, crew who installed the gutters and downspouts.

We would use Finley's Roofing Inc. in the future and very highly recommend them to anyone planning a similar project.  Our house is the envy of the neighborhood!!  Thank You, Mr. Finley.

We were TOTALLY satisfied and happy with this company!!! The crew was very knowledgeable and professional. They met all of our expectations and then some. They were eager to answer all questions and do exactly what we wanted. Can't say enough about their cleanup!!!! Have to admit during the process when I saw all they had to do, I was concerned about everything getting back to normal. No need to worry!! They did a fantastic job of cleaning up our property and made sure everything was to our satisfaction!! Can't forget to mention how GREAT our roof looks!! FANTASTIC job and we would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for an A+ roofing job with a first rate company!!

Work took 2 days to remove and install roof.  Installers only removed the first day old roof that they could replace that day in the event there was the possibility of rain.  This approach protected the roof.

The job they did  was great, worked from sun up to sun down. Finished the complete job in one day. Cleanup was good. After the work was completed Mr. Finley gave me a call to see if I had any concerns or problems before I made payment. Told him everything went well. They used top of line roofing materials, and put ridge vents everywhere they could. After job was completed I felt like I got a very good roof at a good price.

We had a leak (13 year old roof) & problems in the valleys of roof.  Once we contracted with them, they immediately had someone cover the leaking area until roof could be replaced.

Scheduling was a slight problem as they had to cancel original date due to another job & weather problems. They did an excellent job on the roof.  Workers were organized.  Price seemed a little high but our roof has lots of valleys & peaks so I don't think it was too outrageous.  We received an estimate from another roofer for just a repair on leaking area & valleys.  Price to "repair" was $3,000.00 & it would have looked patched. Excellent clean up by crew. We are real happy with the work & warranty & expect it will last MANY years.  I have referred them to others.

Excellent customer service!  Mr. Finely of Finely's Roofing Inc. is very professional and prompt. The entire experience was a pleasant one. He was extremely helpful, informative, and patient.  He did what he said he was going to do. The crew was polite, worked quickly, and cleaned up after themselves. I would not hesitate to use this company again. They provided an excellent service at a price very near my insurance estimate. This was my first time using Angie's list and was worth the membership fee.

I am pleased with the work Finley did on our roof and gutters, aside from a few bumps in the road.  They were very responsive and respectful during the estimate process.  Finley wasn't the cheapest offer, nor were they the most expensive.  However, they had a good Angie's List Big Deal available, and based on previous reviews, their good communication with me, and their certifications, we decided to go with them.  The contract promised all high-quality products to be used, and they made good on that once the materials were delivered.  They also kept to the quoted price even with a couple issues that came up.  All very good things!
They were supposed to start on October 8th, but due to rain the weekend before they got pushed off a day, which I was OK with, as they did let me know ahead of time and cleared it with me first.  The crew was great, worked hard (they worked until dusk in order to get the roof completed in one day), and were respectful of the property.  They came back the next day to finish cleaning up and do some small finishing tasks.  The crew lead, Leandro, came back later that day for a brief inspection, which was good.  I did bring up one issue I had.  Previous owners had installed flashing over the construction gap on the roof (a small space between the roof deck and the fascia of the house) due to an attic critter problem they had.  The roof crew had removed all of this flashing and didn't replace it.  I mentioned it to Leandro, and he said they removed it because it was creating a bump around the perimeter of the roof (which, I agree, it was).  He also said the gap looked no larger than a half inch anywhere around the house.  Considering the previous owner said they didn't know where the attic critter got in, but basically did a full exclusion to be safe, I was OK with Leandro's reasoning.  Still a bit upset they didn't ask me about it at all though (I'd be out a few hundred, at least, if I had a pest company re-install it).  Another minor issue, which I didn't mention to him, was that they don't use a magnetic roller to pick up errant nails.  They just have a big magnet on a stick and walk around the yard with it.  I mention this because I did find a few roof tacks/nails in my yard that their magnet didn't pick up.  A magnetic roller just covers more ground and is more reliable for nail finding, from what I've read.
Originally, I was told the gutter replacement would happen the Friday after the roof (the roof went up on Wednesday).  However, after the roof was finished, my contact at the company (Bill) told me they wouldn't put in the purchase order for the gutter work until they got the balance of the roof payment...which I had given to Leandro during the walkthrough.  So, a bit of a communication breakdown there.  Once that got sorted, the gutter guys showed up the following week.  They did a good job as well, but were a little rough ripping out the old gutters.  They slightly dislodged a couple fascia boards, which I will need to shore-up.  They were also less 'clean' than the roof crew, leaving quite a few long gutter nails laying around my yard.  Aside from that, they did a nice job on the actual work.
Overall, I am quite satisfied.  The roof and gutters look great and are working quite well.  Would definitely recommend Finley!

Their crew worked on our roof for two days and they didn't completed the job to our satisfaction. We immediately called their Senior Project Manager. The Senior Project Manager was mostly concerned on getting paid. He gave us a lot of excuses that didn't made sense to us so we told him that we will issue payment only after the roof was inspected by a third party. Within minutes we received a phone cal from the owner, Lani Finley. Mr. Finley was furious and told us that he was going to put a lien on our house if we didn't pay him on that day. We couldn't believe how unprofessional and rude he was to us on the phone. His marketing material says that "our customer's priorities are our priorities" and "we do it right the first time". Well, our priorities were not their priorities and they didn't do it right the first time. An inspector came and  found several issues. We spend the next few days going back and forth with them to get the issues resolved.
We truly regret using this company because of their awful customer service. They took care of the items because we were holding their payment and because the items found during the inspection were important enough to show to any court (if necessary) that the job was not completed.
Response from Finley's Roofing Inc
"As owner of my father's 76 year old business, it never fails to amaze me how homeowners sign a contract saying that payment is due upon completion of work, then try to rearrange the payment method after the work has been completed. After completion of the roof job, my project manager went to collect the payment that was due us, only to be told by the homeowners that since they knew nothing about a new roof installation, they decided they were not going to pay as per our signed agreement, but wanted to first hire a roof inspector to access the installation. When we inquired how long this would take and who this inspector was, our questions were ignored and payment was deferred. We did not have an issuse with the homeowner hiring a roof inspector, but since we give a 10 Year Warranty on workmanship, we expected payment as outlined in our written contract. The homeowners completely ignored the written agreement and unilaterally decided how payment was to be issused. This is not an acceptable business practice. And we certainly wanted to know who this inspector was, and if he was certified by the GAF corporation, since we are a GAF MasterElite Certified roofing company, and payment obviously depended on his assessment of the roof installation. We inquired many times for his name and contact number so we could communicate directly with him, but the homeowners refused to give us this information, while continuing to delay payment. The homeowners told me that the inspector said we did a good job on the roof installation, but he found a couple of things he felt should be addressed. Again, we asked for his telephone number, because one of the items was not part of a normal roof installation. But once again, we were denied any information regarding this inspector. However, we did address these minor issues as requested by the inspector. Our company does not ask for any payments until the roof job has been completed. We prove ourselves first and take all the financial liability for the job while it is in progress. However, just like every employed homeowner, who expects their check after a hard week of work, we expect payment according to the mutally agreed upon contract between us and the homeowner. Our crew chiefs are instructed to walk around the property with the homeowner before our crews leave the job and address any concerns the homeowner may have and they are addressed at that time. However, we do not feel that a homeowner has a right to delay or refuse payment when there is no ligitimate reason to do so. We have no problem with the fact that some homeowners may want an independant inspection before payment, but that should be agreed upon before our proposal is endorsed by both parties. Changing the terms of a legal contract without both parties permission is not a legal act. What if our company decided to unilaterally change the terms while the work was in progress? Would that be acceptable to any homeowner? I don't believe so. And we expect the same kind of respect from each customer we serve. Since this homeowner arbitrarially decided to change the agreement, I did remind them that a lien was a real possiblity if they continued to delay payment for no reason other than they had decided to change the payment terms. This is only a wise business decision when someone evades paying a $10,000.00 contract. Lani W. Finley President Finley's Roofing, Inc."

Approximately one month later we had a very bad rain storm and the bathroom in my upstairs began to leak.  I phoned him of the situation and he sent someone over right away.  I showed his representative the leak and he had someone go into my attic and "according to him" there was no leak.  Two weeks later, another rain and the same scenario, only this time there is significant damage to the sheet rock.
Now his representative is saying the builder is at fault.   POINT: prior to Findley replacing the roof there was never a leak.  When asked who would repair the damaged sheet rock, I was told Findley would not.  At this point, not only am I upset but the company now refuses to even acknowledge it's their fault.  After the last rain and even more damaged sheet rook, Mr. Findley would no longer even respond to my calls.
Later, I simply hired someone else to go on top of my roof and got the report that Findley's people were at fault.  Although it cost me another $450.00 I had the roof and sheet rock repaired.  I don't think this was an isolated incident either.  Why Angie's List has his company on their list of vendor's is beyond me.  Not only would I NOT recommend him I am now somewhat "suspect" of Angie's List.

Response from Finley's Roofing Inc
"Our company did install a new roof for this homeowner in 2010 and there was an initial problem with an upstairs leak. I immediately sent my foreman to the jobsite to address this problem and was informed that everything had been addressed. That was in 2010 and I have not had one single call from this homeowner since that time. I do not know who he has been conversing with, but it has not been with me, nor anyone in our company. There is another roofing company in Atlanta with a very similar name to ours and many people do get us confused. I can only surmise that this homeowner has been calling their company. He certainly has not been interacting with our company. I also suggest this homeowner get their facts correct before making such derogatory remarks about our 75 year old, GAF Certified, Double Angie's List Super Award winning company. I will be more than happy to talk with this person anytime they dial the correct number to our office. That number is 770-964-8982. Lani Finley/President and Owner/Finley's Roofing, Inc."

Overall the job went fairly smoothly.  I feel they did minimize the noise I heard inside the house.  I have almost all cathedral ceilings in the house and only one high hat fell out of place from heavy pounding from above.
