Whites Pool is a class act ! This is my second pool done by Whites and they continue to impress me. James and his long term team are prompt, courteous and go the extra mile. I would highly recommend whites for all your pool needs

The whole team at whites pool was extremely pleasant and professional to deal with from the design to the final product I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get a pool done and would definitely use them for any future pool needs

Terrible. They installed in ground salt water pool with many delays due to poor scheduling on their part and poor communication/follow-up. We thought our problems would be over at completion but Whites exclusively installs salt water chlorinators with known issues. We have now had to replace one and have had a second one go bad in just the first year of having the pool. This has resulted in limited use of our pool and constantly spending money to dump chemicals in to kill algae that grows as a result of the pool lacking chlorine. Whites response to this issue has been apathetic at best. They schedule service calls and fail to show up all while we still have an unusable $70K pool. Do NOT use their services. Find another pool company that values your business and their product.

James and his team are very professional and did great work on our pool. They respond to emails, texts, or calls very quickly. We could not be happier with our decision to use them for our pool installation. The custom design turned out exactly as planned.

Just had 5 minute conversation on the phone with the lady who answered their phone. Just that conversation alone made me not want to use them. I said to her that my pool has a problem and that it is leaking water. She said that they do not do leak detection. Pardon my ignorance, but how is this possible? Am I supposed to hire one company to find leaks and a different company to fix them? So, what I would recommend this company is one of the two things. They need either to get a different person to answer their phones, somebody perhaps with less of an attitude and with more knowledge of what you actually do and how you do it. Or, in case if they really do not do leak detection, they need to learn how do a leak detection. Can you picture an electrician who only lays cables and installs circuit breakers but refuses to to look for circuit shorts? I can't.

Consulted designed and built a 38x18 salt water pool, spa and tanning shelf. Carefully listened to how we envisioned using outdoor space and were flexible in revisions.

It went well. Its a slow progress. I would do it in the fall or winter if I had to do over. They started June 4 and finished August 15-2014.
They should tell you about the extra charges they will add too the work being done. Like the gravel need for the deck and the gas line to the road. You would think the gravel was part of the deck and not charge more.

The initial call went fine; we arranged to have James come out today to do a walk through of the backyard and a discussion about what we were looking for. We set up an appointment for a Friday midday appointment and my husband arranged to be home from work to participate in the discussion. Unfortunately no one showed up, and when I called the company thirty minutes after our designated appointment time, I was told the woman in the office had made a scheduling error and no one would be coming out after all.
I understand that everyone makes a mistake from time to time but I didn't care for the way the situation was handled ("Oh, I put the appointment on our calendar for a different day. Do you want to reschedule?) Frankly I would have expected at least a minimal apology for my wasted time. I chose not to reschedule and told the woman on the phone I really couldn't justify another day off. She hung up on me (hence the grade I gave this review.)
If that is an indication of the company's service ? I am glad we learned about it before hiring them for a $$$ project like a new pool.

"We apologize for any inconvenience the confusion may have caused; however, our schedule showed the appointment for the following friday which would have been confirmed that week. We understand that this would have caused a great deal of frustration due to the scheduling conflict and our assistant made every attempt to extend our deepest apologies. Unfortunately, it was not received but our assistant did not hang up on the customer. To our knowledge, the scheduling was correct but we apologize if it was not."

James listened carefully to the way we live how we entertain and the way we envisioned using our outdoor space. With the use of a computer program, he literally showed us pictures of what the finished space would look like. Mid-project changes and additions did not phase James or any of his talented craftsmen and our family now enjoys the outdoor living space of our dreams.

We broke ground for our pool late February, 2010, so that there would be plenty of time to complete before Memorial Day.
When you begin, take into consideration downtime based on weather. Other than that the process moves pretty quickly.

We regret hiring White's Pools. They repeatedly no-call no-showed, failed to return calls, over-promised and under-delivered. All during installation we kept thinking, "well, the service is terrible but we'll still get a quality pool" That didn't turn out to be the case either as we needed 4 significant repairs in the 12 months after installation. Their gut response to every question about repairs or maintenance was saying how it wasn?t their fault. 3 of the repairs were patch jobs that have now unraveled and need work again. The most recent repair needed (pebble and concrete disintegrating) we simply gave up after the 3rd no-call no-show, and just paid out-of-pocket for another company to fix. That leaves us with just one more botched White's Pools job to fix when the weather gets warm.
A couple employees are fine folks, but the owner, James White, is just a dishonest man (which makes their ?guided by ethics? slogan look more like a strategy than a lifestyle). We rarely got a straight answer or got him to follow through. The one honest thing he did say was that our pool was just a small job (under $60,000) and that he had much bigger jobs to do and that's why his crew repeatedly couldn't show up. In another conversation he spoke of a customer that took him to court and how that case had no merit. If a contractor starts telling tales about beating dissatisfied customers in court, run away!
White's is not THE worst service provider we've had, but for the money spent on this pool you should expect at least honest and timely service. There are so many better alternatives (e.g., Neptune Pools, RCS pools). Do your research, ask installers for contacts of their MOST RECENT 5 customers (not their standard reference sheet), and avoid White's. Really, you'll regret it.

"We sincerely apologize for leaving you with hard feelings. It is our desire to please each individual customer and we strive to give the best quality of work and customer service. The allegations stated in this comment are not true. There are certain elements we cannot control (weather and weather related damage); however, even then we repaired those items for no cost that were clearly not covered by warranty. In addition, every customer is given our complete attention no matter what the customer is paying. That ethic is demonstrated in our retail store, repair service, and pool cleaning departments. If you spend $5 or $250,000 we are grateful for the opportunity to serve you and your family."

The overall experience was wonderful! When you are spending this kind of money on a pool, you want to feel good about it; and we did. From the first phone call, Owner James White was always responsive, patient, and knowledgeable. Our home is not close to the business (about 45 minutes away) and he came out to our home on more than one winter evening to look at the site and discuss plans and ideas for us. If we had chosen another company, he would have been out a good bit just in time and gas. We did talk with two other companies/pool designers and Whites Pools was by far the most knowledgeable, professional, fastest, and reasonable. He has plans and ideas from over the top to very average. He will do (and has probably done before) anything your heart desires. Starting in December he planned and designed our pool and over the next 4-5 months carved out a spot for it on our steeply sloping yard and built it.. Our process could have progressed much quicker, but since the weather would not warm up for a while, we were in no hurry. His crew was very professional and not obtrusive, so it was no bother having them out at the house to work. (They even let my eager 8 year old son come out and help them from time to time!) We also had several weeks when no work was done due to winter weather. If we ever had a question or idea Mr. White was only a phone call away. We made a few minor modifications during the process and they made it seem effortless to accommodate us. In the end, Mr. White and his team had installed a BEAUTIFUL free form salt water gunnite/pebble tec pool. It is 10 feet deep at the deepest point and 3 feet in the shallow. At James' suggestion, it has a wonderful tanning shelf, which we all love. It also has a 20 foot custom curved slide surrounded by rocks and boulders that fits in well with the surrounding landscape. James designed the slide to fit the curve of the pool and patio perfectly. It also has a poured, stamped, stained concrete deck and massive retaining wall around three sides of the pool. The mechanics of the pool are so easy to use, it runs itself. We have gotten a zillion compliments on this pool, have enjoyed every second of it, and even enjoyed the building and construction process.
