About us
Who We Are and What We Do: Ke’n L’chaim provides project management services and historic property advice for a range of projects from complete restorations to small scale renovations. We specialize in historic (structures built in and prior to 1961) residential and commercial properties. The company is based in Decatur, Georgia and its principal has completed work on historic properties throughout the southeast and internationally. The company can provide tips, comprehensive information, vendor referrals and resources to help those selling, buying or restoring their property or properties. What We have Done Previously: Saved northeast Louisiana homeowner $4000 in construction costs on a restoration of their historic home and guided the transformation of the property in under 5 months. •Reviewed National Register of Historic Places nominations for the federal agency, US General Services Administration (GSA). •Provided GSA building managers with historic building resource advice for their period buildings. •Researched and presented an adaptive reuse plan for the Daniel Webster Home and Farm (New Hampshire). •Worked with Durham, England’s local government to analyze current revitalization efforts within the historic town and provide solutions to challenges faced. •Created a National Register for Historic Places nomination for Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites’ Indian Springs State Park. •Worked with the Society for Preservation of Israel Heritage Sites and completed archival research on period British military buildings in Rosh Ha’ayin, Israel. Our Leadership: The company is owned and operated by Lydia Atubeh, a global professional, who holds a masters degree in Conservation of Historic Buildings from the University of York (England) and undergraduate degrees in Art and Music from Georgia State University (Atlanta, Georgia). Atubeh has over 8 years of experience in the art, interior design and historic conservation fields in the United States and abroad. She recently expanded her local influence by teaching a course on International Heritage Preservation at Georgia State University. Internationally she has worked with local governments, professional associations, non-profit and civic organizations in the United Kingdom, Sweden and Israel.
