A representative came out promptly. I wasn't home, but he looked at the gutter involved and told me the problem was that it was not sloped correctly. They wanted to charge me $425 to take the long run down, re-slope it, and re-secure the critter proofing. I asked about another downspout, and he said they could put one in but, "That's not going to solve your problem.". For that, he estimated a $150 charge. We called another company and they came out and said the span of guttering was too long for the downspouts we had. We went with the second company.

I had gotten 2 previous estimates for the work, both angie's list contractors, but I thought one of the quotes was too high and the second company was unresponsive. Mr. Berry went to my house the same day I called and provided an estimate. The work was completed within 2 days of accepting the offer. Mr. Berry was very responsive and they did great work for a fair price - $400 less than the highest quote! I would certainly use them again and recommend them to my friends and family.

I spoke with several different companies, getting quotes that ranged from 4898 to 7200. Some companies wanted as much as $1500 to fix the damaged soffits. This company quoted a reasonable rate, right in the middle and fixed the soffits as part of the gutter repair. The new gutters were also reasonable, right along what others had quoted, but the others wanted more money to fix the soffits. Some had to bring in a carpenter to do the work. Dekalb has a great crew of workers and they did a GREAT job! They showed up when they said. Robert, consistently sent me photographs of the work,as I was not able to be there. He showed me the clean deck, and any wood they replaced. Then once it was done, he sent that picture too. They worked all day right up until the night came. They hand nailed all the shingles which is the way things should be done. It's old fashioned, but the shingles stay on better. They did a top notch job. The carpentry work on the water damaged soffits was top notch. I was so impressed with the professional job they did and all at a reasonable price. I learned a valuable lesson here. Go with a large company that specializes in roofs and go with the one with great Angie's list reviews!

When Mr. Berry came out to prepare the estimate he was very attentative to my needs and made suggestions on how to proceed. They showed up on time the day agreed to and were able to complete the new roof and gutters in 2 days. The crew was excellent and kept the jobsite clean throughout the job. I had a couple of minor changes that they incorporated without any problem. The next day the heavy rains started and no leaks showed up in the roof and the gutters handled the downpour without problems. I am confident that Dekalb Roofing did an excellent job and will stand behind their work.

We called Dekalb Roofing based on an Angie's List recommendation which showed all excellent comments and satisfaction from customers. The person set up and appointment and showed up when he said he would. Within 10 minutes of his departure he sent us an email stating his estimate for the roof and for the gutters. Both were fair and acceptable and we signed a contract. He told us when his crew would arrive. The arrived on time, worked all day (until the rain came that afternoon) and were back even earlier the next day to complete the roof (removal of old roof and installation of new) and the do the gutters (again, removal of old and installation of new.) The person we spoke to originally came to the house the next day, inspected the work himself (although the foreman of the job had done a thorough inspection before they left the previous day) and collected our check. He told us that the warranty was for 5 years but that if we had any trouble even after that we could call and he'd handle it. A very pleasant and stress free re roofing job! I'd recommend them to anyone and would use them again.

Jeff Berry was honest, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. First he sealed around a leaking roof vent, for FREE. Then when the vent still leaked after a rain, he suggested that we just remove the vent. He explained that it wasn't needed anyway, since we have power ventilators elsewhere on our roof.

Professional from start to finish. We were referred to Dekalb Roofing by a neighbor and saw their good reviews on Angie's List. We had two other companies estimate. Dekalb Roofing had comparable pricing, but we liked that their price included replacing any rotted wood beneath the old shingles. Other companies left that price open. I wasn't sure about shingle color so they dropped off large single samples the next day, and gave me addresses of other houses in the area that had those shingle colors. After we decided on a color on Friday, they were able to start the roof on Monday. The crew arrived at 8:30 and worked until almost sunset, then started the next day at 7:30 and were finished by the end of the day. Both days they worked, they left the workspace immaculate. Everyone I spoke to: Jeff, Robert, and Debbie, were excellent to deal with and very professional. The men and women working on the house were also professional and friendly. When I asked them to move a truck that was partially blocking a neighbor's driveway, they did so immediately. The roof looks great and we are very happy. Also, it's comforting to know that they have been around a long time, and that their office is in the neighborhood if we ever need anything.

They were exceptional. They did a great job. They were responsive, on time, and they worked with us.

I give them an "A" overall and I would use them again in the future.

I called Dekalb Roofing because of a roof leak in my master bedroom. I called and they came out the very next day to provide an estimate for repairs. They informed me that my roof was in great condition, but there was actually some screws loose in the seal around a pipe that was causing the leak. He actually tightened the screws for free as a courtesy. I will be calling them again for future services.

Jeff Berry of DeKalb Roofing came by the day after I called to give us an estimate on roof replacement. I had 3 estimates and DeKalb Roofing was the one that addressed my roofing needs and provided the best overall value. The job was completed in 1 1/2 days without any damage to damage to the shrubbery around the house, deck or pool and no garbage for the roofing was left after they finished. The crew who worked on our home were very professional and onviously took pride in their work and welcomed questions I had while they worked. They each tool the time to answer me completely and explained anything that concerned me. I have recommended DeKalb Roofing to neighbors and friends. Overall, great experience and very satisfied!

Arrived in a timely matter for the estimate the day after we phoned (a Thursday). Work began Monday morning and was completed on Tuesday. Each day the crew arrived promptly at 7:30 and were even apologetic when they arrived four minutes late due to fog! They were all extremely polite and courteous. Cleanup was not an issue (for us) because besides the obvious new roof, one couldn't even tell they'd been here. We felt the pricing was fair and competitive and would highly recommend them to friends/neighbors. Great experience and our FIRST use of Angie's List. Another good investment!

Mr. Jeff Berry of DeKalb Roofing came by the day after I called to give us an estimate on gutter replacement. We had 3 estimates and DeKalb Roofing was in the middle. They were chosen because they responded to my call and made an appointment to come the next day. I had some concerns about damage to the shrubbery around the house and he assurred me that the workers would let me know if they had to trim anything before they did so. The job was completed in 3 1/2 days. Mr. Julio and Mr. Carlos were the crew who worked on our home. I think there were more on the first day, but I did not get there names. These young men were very professional and took pride in their work. I asked a few questions as I was coming and going while they worked. Each time they answered completely and explained anything that concerned me. These workers are an asset to DeKalb Roofing, if all of there employees are like the one that I dealt with they will nothing but satisfied customers. I HOPE I STIILL FEEL THE SAME AFTER THE FIRST HARD RAIN.

I first contacted Dekalb Roofing in 2009 when we had the heavy rains and I had a leak in my valley. They were the only company that had someone answer the phone and were honest - they were too busy at that time. I really appreciated that, considering runarounds I got from others. I had it looked at again in the fall of 2010 and it was recommended to replace the rear part of my roof. Since my house is not large and the roof was already 15 years old, I decided to do the whole roof this summer. I received a full proposal in the mail and was given a sample card of different shingle colors to choose from. After picking a date, we were detained by one day due to weather. Mr. Berry (Robert) called me early that morning as he monitors the weather radar closely and didn't think that day would be good. He was right, we got a pop-up storm which would have delayed it right in the middle of the job. His crew showed up the next day and were courteous and professional. It was done in one day but when I got home there was a truck and some equipment left; this was due to a torrential pop-up storm at the end of the day around 6:30, no fault of theirs. No leaks as 95% of the job was done. They came back by to get the truck and would come back in the morning (Saturday) to finish the minor details and clean up. Sure enough, they did what they said they were going to do. I had a question about the vent seals and Mr. Berry came by to check on them while I was on vacation. I would not hesitate to use this company again and hope that everyone else has as good of an experience that I had. They're kind of old-fashioned with estimates and invoices (no email or website yet) but do not let that deter you. Also, a very important point - they have their own trucks and equipment. They have been in business for a long time and it's obvious why.

The amount shown above, $13,400.00 included installation of new gutters and gutter guards. I obtained three roofing estimates. The other two companies had more marketing materials, brochures, samples of flashing, etc. Their estimates were higher than Dekalbs, one was around $15,000. and the other was a whopping $18,000. I made a chart, so that I could easily compare one roofer to the other for each part of the job. The chart let me compare, for example, the type of flashing each company used for valleys. The roofers all used pretty much the same materials except for the shingles. Dekalb used a 15 lb. shingle, while the other two used a 30 lb. I asked Dekalb Roofer Jeff why, and he explained that the 30 lb. had more tar type material and this caused the roof to have areas that swelled during our hot Atlanta summer. The 30 lb. shingle was only about $70.00 more for our large roof, so the Dekalb Roofers were not using the 15 lb. just because it was cheaper. The Dekalb Roofing workers were entirely professional. It was clear that the two brothers who operate the company know their business. They answered all my questions, returned phone calls promptly. The roofers arrived on time, worked quickly, removed all debris, and were courteous. The gutter installation went well too. When I asked Jeff why they chose to use a particular gutter guard, he told me that it was the only gutter guard that they didn't get complaints about. Apparently, most of the gutter guards don't work that well. Dekalb Roofing gave me service and product quality that was the same or better than the other roofing companies offered. I saved as much as $5,000. by selecting their company over the roofers who had more sophisticated marketing practices. Dekalb Roofing owners were smart, competent and offered great customer service.

I discovered a problem with my roof during a heavy thunderstorm when an area around my kitchen door started leaking heavily. The next morning I checked with my insurance agent to get a recommendation for a roof repair company. I also checked with Angie's List and found DeKalb Roofing Co. I called them and discussed my problem. Someone was at my house within the next two days and left me a voice mail about the situation. In the meantime, I had heard from my insurance company with a recommentation but I never heard back from the recommended party. The next morning, I called DeKalb Roofing to tell them to go ahead with the project. A few minutes later, the man who had inspected my roof called me back to explain how my roof had gotten damaged. He said a raccoon had climbed on my roof and started digging to get into my attic. He recommended a company that would trap the raccoon, so there would be no threat to my newly repaired roof. The day they repaired the roof I came home to an immaculate work area. I only knew someone had been there because my driveway area was cleaner than the way I had left it. The expierience was top-notch from start to finish. They responded quickly, did the work well, and cleaned up their mess so well there was not a scrap of roofing material to be found anywhere.

We originally recieved a quote from a Roofing company. Since this was a big job, we decided to invest in Angies List to see if we can get some additional advice and price quotes. Replacing a roof can be very stressing. We are landlords and we live half a world away from our rental. This makes it complicated to assess repair work properly and many times, contractors take advantage of this situation. We researched three more top companies from Angies list. Each company went out to look at the propery and each one of the companies quotes came in much less than the orginal company. Each company provided detailed information about the repair job needed and why. One interesting thing is that all 3 companies, including Dekalb Roofing mentioned that the additional work requested by the original company was not needed. That was surprising. Anyway, the service was done professionally and prompted with Mr. Berry updating us on the progress each day via email. We have recieved several compliments from our community about the new roof and the Architectural Shingles. By the way, one of the reasons we selected Dekalb Roofing was because they had access to Architectural Shingles in addition to their polite attitude, patience, and knowledge. They also seem to take pride in their work. I would recommend their service to other people.

DeKalb Roofing made this rare experience so easy. They responded promptly and cheerfully to telephone calls, provided a prompt estimate, and scheduled the work within a reasonable amount of time. The workmen were pleasant and did an amazing job of keeping the worksite clean. Everyone answered questions with great patience. The price was right on target for what we had expected to pay and they insisted the job be completed to our satisfaction before they would accept payment. The result looks great and we are thoroughly pleased with our choice of roofing company.

After getting a pretty substantial leak in our roof from a fallen branch that was causing damage to the dining room ceiling, I gave Dekalb roofing a call. They said they would come out and look at it the next day. I informed them that no one would be home, but they said that would be okay. They would come out and access the damage and call me with a quote. The next day Robert called by mid-day and informed me that he had discovered a hole that had been penetrated both the shingles and the wooden roof underneath. He went on to say that he had properly patched the hole, replaced the shingle and there was ... "no charge". Even with the rising fuel cost you would think there would have charges something but he simply wished me a good day. I will surely call Dekalb Roofing when I need a roof replacement, gutters, etc. Thank God, there are still some customer oriented businesses still around!

I was very pleased with DeKalb Roofing's professionalism. Prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, helpful. I hired them to perform a small repair job and also asked them to work up an estimate on whole roof replacement and gutter guard installation. They performed the small job well and gave me the estimate I requested. They did not pressure me to go ahead and do the bigger, more expensive job right away. I was pleased. So when our family is ready to do the bigger job, I am likely to hire DeKalb Roofing.

The entire work went on fine. All of them were great. The person whom I called over the phone till the person who came out to do the work was great. The one who runs the company was very responsive and very efficient. I was very happy with them. I would rate them high overall and would definitely use them in the future.

Wish all contractors were as responsive and professional. Quote was provided same day that it was requested. Work started as soon as I gave them the job. The crew was efficient, professional. The left the grounds impeccable, not a nail to be found! It rained cats and dogs the next day and the new roof was totally leak-free.
