I have a lot to say about "All About Painting Contractors", and all of it is good. We bought a home last fall that has some wood rot and ceiling issues. We replace the roof and waited until spring to replace the rotted wood and paint the ceilings and exterior trim and siding (back). I've been disappointed in the last couple of paint jobs, so this time around I had plenty of time, and I did a through job of vetting painting contractors. I got estimates from 6 painting contractors. I contacted three providers from Angie's List who were very highly rated, and had great review comments. I also contacted two companies who were referrals from friends/neighbors, but I felt like they were more small job people. For example, they both gave me informal estimates by text message. Actually one of the contractors on Angie's List took 2 weeks to come by and look over the house, and then he just didn't seem to be very professional. Finally I contacted one provider from HomeAdvisor.com. Their estimate was in scope, but they didn't really impress me when I asked detailed questions about the proposed work. The pricing was remarkably close, except for the guy from Angie's List who was late, and he was $2K higher than all the others. I scratched him immediately. The other 5 were within $400 highest to lowest, even the 2 referrals. All About Painting was second highest priced from Angie's List, but Jason was sharp as a tack and answered all questions to my satisfaction. He sent me a professional estimate which clearly outlined everything I had requested in detail. The first part of the job was fixing interior drywall and painting. The ceilings in the great room and master bath were damaged by rain leaks. The crew did an incredible job. First they moved what needed to be moved, and then they taped thin plastic drop cloth all over things on the wall they couldn't move, and things they had moved to the center of the floor. Then they taped plastic over the floor! They even taped up the entire stone fireplace. Then they did the dry wall and the painting as soon as the dry wall was cured/dried. When they were finished they put everything back and did a through clean-up. Some of the things weren't "exactly" where they were before being moved, but if I was doing the job they wouldn't be either. Patricia notices these things. We couldn't be happier with the interior work. Here's another thing that impressed me. Our ceiling are not white, they are the same color as the wall. Patricia and I spent a lot of time trying to match the color and had come up with what we thought we a good match. BTW: All the exterior and interior paint was Sherwin-Williams, and they loaned us a huge palate to use in trying to find the right color. I gave the color card of the paint we picked to the paint crew boss (Francisco) and he headed out to SW to get the paint. When he came back he had a paint that was a different color - not what I had specified. He had worked with the SW people to create a custom blend that he felt would be a better match. BAM! You can't tell the difference between the old color and the new color. He made the right call by using his good judgement. :-) The second part of the job was to paint the exterior. Picking colors wasn't a problem as the HOA keeps exterior paint records and you must get approval to deviate. The same painting crew that did the interior was doing the exterior. As I walked around I saw them scraping paint and actually scraping out the old caulking - everywhere. I had a lot wood damage, and they removed all the bad wood and replaced it with PVC-wood. Then they went around taping plastic over all the exterior windows so the spray paint wouldn't get on the glass. (Three sides brick, but the back is hardie-plank.) The key here is the attention to detail. My experience is that painters do as little as possible and finish as quick as they can. The painting I had done to sell our home in Lilburn last year was okay, but not great. I even caught the painters using a cheaper paint and forced them to repaint everything they had painted with the cheap paint. That hasn't been the case with All About Painting. They do a THROUGH prep (the key to a good paint job), and then they do an excellent job with the painting and clean-up. Yes - they are using the paint I specified :-) Here comes the kicker - you get a 5 year warranty, and I trust that Jason and All About Painting Contractors will honor that warranty fully. So my experience with All About Painting was excellent. I am recommending them to all my friends and neighbors, which is something I don't do lightly.

They were wonderful. They were very prompt and thorough. They're good people. The owner gave the estimate and showed up to check on the job. I actually just referred some business to them.

I am very pleased with the work. The quote from All About Painting was thousands less than the 3 other painting services I asked for quotes. Normally I'd be concerned about that, but the Angie's list reviews were good. 
As expected with the exceptional value, there were a few minor details overlooked with the job. 
Here are what I'd consider the cons: 
1. I expected a little more wood repair before the stain. Some carpenter bee damage was left and painted over (no big deal). 
2. When they pressure washed the house and cleaned the wood, they lightened a few areas that didn't (and weren't supposed to) get a coat of paint. The wood trim of my sliding glass door got lightened in the cleaning. I will re-stain to match house by hand (no big deal). The base of by front door stoop had this as well. 
3. There was some wood that needed to be replaced and I would have preferred to have been assessed a little extra in fees and had it fixed, but I assume the company does their best to stick to the estimate and not assess additional charges. 
4. They did the second coat a little faster than I'd have liked. I would have liked to have seen the whole house painted, allowed to dry, and then the whole house re-painted. I do believe, in most cases, they let the first coat dry to the specifications of the paint (4 hours) before applying the second. As far as I can tell, this turned out to be inconsequential. 
Pros: 
1. Exceptional value that did not exceed estimate.
2. Friendly and punctual crew. 
3. The house looks great! 
If you are incredibly anal about minor details, you may want to go with one of the companies with much higher estimates. I don't mind the minor things missed/overlooked for the thousands of dollars I saved. I will use this company again the next time I have a painting need. 

The Estimate:
My first contact with this company was fine, they got back to me about an estimate quickly. Which in itself is impressive considering, I contacted at least 6 painting companies from Angie's List and only 3 got back to me at all. We scheduled a time for them to come out for an estimate. It was raining on the day of the estimate so they contacted me and asked me to send photos to make the estimation.Which I did, I soon got an estimate number e-mailed to me but no official estimate. I e-mailed and asked for one which they sent. We scheduled a date.
The Work:
The work was scheduled for the week of December 6th, I was contacted and told that they would be here Thursday to pressure wash. They came and pressure washed, and said they would be back the next day to paint. They came as promised, repaired and painted. Upon inspecting their work I found several problems with the repair work.

The Problems:
1. They used a circular saw to remove portions of the rotted trim. In the process they cut the siding in
two places, these were not repaired.
2.They used large amounts of caulk to fill in where they made a bad cut.
3.They also used nails that were too long  to attach the new trim and they were sticking out on the inside of the building.
  
The Solution:
I contacted the company with my concerns, they apologized and said the crew would be out on Tuesday, Dec. 15 to make repairs. The crew did not show up or call. I contacted them and was told that the crew had gotten behind due to rain and would be out Wednesday, Dec. 16 to make repairs. They came as promised and made repairs. I reinspected and am satisfied with the repaired work.
Overview:
The company did a good job painting and the crew was friendly and did what they said they would do overall. I was hoping for a better repair job, but they did make repairs quickly when I complained. All correspondence was done via e-mail, which left me feeling a little cold, but got the job done. If the repair work had been done right the fist time they would have gotten an A.
 
  

The painters who performed the work were excellent.  They were prompt, efficient, hard-working.  They stayed long hours one day and finished the entire job much faster than we had expected (2 days total).  They cleaned up completely before they left after the job was completed.

About two weeks later, we contracted with them to paint the exterior of another house that we own.  Again, excellent work.  Same painters on the job, they were prompt, efficient, hard-working.  The job was completed in a very timely manner.  We would call on them again in the future.

If I had tried to find something to complain about, I wouldn't have been able to. From the owner to the crew, these guys are great to work with.  It's hard to describe their energy, commitment, and pride in their work. The house looks great. They also went above and beyond by repairing a gap between the house and the gutter, as well as hanging a rain chain on a downspout.
They cost a little more, however, the work is warrantied for 5 years, which is longer than most. The crew also made sure I knew that I should call if should I notice anything that wasn't up to a high standard, and they would return and make it right.

The employee that came out to do my house was great! He was very polite and punctual. He did an amazing job on the door!! I didn't know what the wood stain color was, but he matched it perfectly.
Another contractor told us that the door would have to be taken off of it's hinges in order to sand/stain it, but he had a ladder and did all the work leaving the door attached. It was beautiful when finished and I was told it comes with a 5 year warranty against further weather damage.
The only small issue I had with this company was that they kept rescheduling my service as their projects piled up. But how busy/popular they are is a testament to how much people like them.
The price they quoted me was the lowest price out of all the quotes I received (next one up was $50 more, and one person quoted $500).  I was very pleased and would definitely use them again (as long as I wasn't on a time constraint).

We could not be any more pleased or satisfied from the contact with Jason for the estimate, scheduling  the date and working with the entire team.  They performed all items on the estimate.  All the team members were courteous and respectful of us and our property.  The house looks great!  Jason and team - Thank you for everything!  We will have some inside painting in the future and will definitely use All About Painting.

Wonderful! On time, easy to work with, clean up after themselves, polite. Garage was initially painted the wrong color. When we pointed it out, they corrected it quickly and easily. Price was exactly as quoted. Very pleasant experience, highly recommend them.

Jason was right on time for our estimate appointment. He walked around the house with me, answered all of my questions, and provided a detailed plan, listing everything we discussed. His estimate was in the same range as three other estimates, but I chose his company because he seemed knowledgeable, especially about the wood repair which was a big concern for me. Ronaldo, the crew leader, was professional and friendly. He communicated with me daily, and made sure he was completing everything in the plan. The crew left my home and yard clean everyday. The whole job from start to finish took 5 days. As hard as I looked, I only found the need for one minor touch up. The guys came out within three days, and completed the job. The work comes with a 5 year warranty. I'm not sure if that is the norm, but it gave me some extra peace of mind.

As much as the weather tried to work against them, they got the job done.  Thru rain, sleet, snow...yes, really, all of that happened from when they started to finished.  They hustled when the weather worked with them and got the job done beautifully.  We had snow and 68 degree weather in the same week! They also repaired a lot of wood rot.  Our house looks great.  I love the new exterior colors.  Three neighbors asked for their info from me and one even has an appointment scheduled this week.  So, they did great enough of a job that those that have seen it, are interested in their services.

They were great. They were very thorough and professional. I thought that it should have been cheaper.
