Garden*Hood

Gardenhood is great - friendly staff, very knowledgeable. They clearly know what they are talking about. We are clueless and they took the time to explain and walk around with us (we are very indecisive!!) for quite a while without rushing us or acting impatient. Highly recommend. They also provide some at-home services, which we plan to take advantage of in the near future!

They are very knowledgeable. They have connections with actual horticulturists and people who know a whole lot about plants; they help figure out what varieties I would want and what would work in my yard. They have people with landscape design experience. So they are very good that way. They are probably a little bit more expensive than other providers but when I spend $500 I get $50 back. They have the expertise needed and it is a pretty good deal. Their hours are convenient.

It is just a plant store. I probably go over there every couple of weeks and buy plants as I am a plant junkie. They are very knowledgeable. They have a large variety of unusual plants. Their plants are a little more expensive, but they are very unusual plants. If someone wants to buy Begonias or Marigolds, then they need to go to other places, but if they are looking for unusual and different plants, then that's the place to go. They have wine parties there too. It's in the area of the city that has been re-gentrified, so they call it Garden*Hood because it's in the hood. They have chickens that run around all over the place. They have beer too and appetizers and things like that, and it's usually on Friday night. There are a couple of gardening places which do that, which unfortunately gives me enough wine, so I usually have to try to stay away or cut back on my wine drinking there, but it's a really fun place to go, even for a gardener. I would use them again in the future.
