Estes Services - HVAC Plumbing & Electrical

I've used other mantanence HVAC contrators but found Estes with a coupon They have always been on time, explaned more to me than anyon else and I would not use anyone but them ever again.

Basically, they checked the toilets and determined nothing was wrong. However, my Hal bath toilet. Still doesn’t flush on occasion. There is something wrong and I just can’t pinpoint what it is exactly. Perhaps I should have hired a company that focuses on plumbing.

Great, these inspectors and repairmen are professional, knowledgeable and do their work efficiently.

We were under contract with Estes for two years for all three services. Their service providers were very good at "finding" different things that "need" to be fixed during their bi-annual visits. In fact, they created problems trying to fix real problems. Further, scheduling got so bad that they would give us an EIGHT HOUR WINDOW of when the service provider would be here! They are listed and "rated" high in a local publication, which is why we chose them. No more.

The technitian did a though job on inspecting both units. He answered all my questions. I would request for teh technitian to come next time. Very polite gentleman. Thank you, Estes!!!

Repeatedly charged me a lot of money without even understanding the problem. I finally called someone else, who fixed it fairly cheaply. Would not use them again.

All Estes employees are very professional. This is a good company.

I’m somewhat of a long time customer with service contracts on my heater, air conditioner and plumbing. Last few “services” were average at best. In comparing annual service contracts, I find them to be on the pricey side.

Replaced unit according to my schedule, great people to work with.

None from Estes has been here since last spring. I did not agree to have electrical and plumbing return because their inspection was not good. It consisted of looking with a flask light into the pipes to see if they were open. For electrical they only turned on the lights. I can do this myself and not pay $80. Evelyn Hull

It was a very smooth inspection. The technician showed up timely and was very knowledgeable. They did a thorough job but also did not waste time. They explained everything that was going on with our systems and answered all the questions we have. They are always very honest about what, if any, additional work is necessary. I always feel very comfortable that the job was done right. I would certainly recommend Estes.

I'm not sure the service above that I requested was even checked. After charging me over a $1,000 my system still wasn't working properly. For full disclosure, I did approve all of the services that they suggested. However, afterward I realized that they were just running up the bill. I found out afterward that they charged me almost twice as much as others are still charging for freon. They made no attempt to fix the problem and asked me to sign a document stating that they were not fixing a freon leak. In my naivete I did sign that document because I wasn't completely sure it was a freon leak. I give them an F because they did not try to solve a problem they just wanted to make the money.

I have a pre-paid maintenance contract so they check out my system before the start of each season. Robert gave me good advice of what to watch for since my system is old and soon freon will be totally unavailable.

They replaced a furnace. Cold air return was 16x25. Now it is 16x20. Their service technician who came out a month ago for poor cooling told me it should be 16x25 and their employee who sold the job and spec’d it was terminated as he incorrectly spec’d jobs. Estes will not fix the problem

Went as planned - routine maintenance

The service I receive from Estes normally goes very well.

Service technician came out and told us we needed a compressor that this was the sole cause of our air conditioner problem. The cost was $2,085. They told me it would be good to get their "Preventive Maintenance" that this would save me money on any future service calls. Agreed to get the compressor. Once the compressor was installed, the home was not cooling. Placed another call to them the technician came out and indicated he had punched holes in the system, by accident, but fixed it. Had to make a third call because it only cooled for a little while, and had to pay another service call fee of $79,00, minus $10-20 because I was paying for the Preventative Maintenance Program, (wow). On this service call, was told there was a bad coil in the attic, that it would cost another $1,700, plus $600 for labor for a total of $2,300 to get this fixed. These charges add up to $5,000+ which could be put towards a new air conditioner. I called and tried to cancel my preventative maintenance and they advised that if I did, they would have to add another $1,000 to my bill. So now we are talking about $6,000+. Watch out for the "Preventative Maintenance Program" offer, don't fall for it. I am now paying for an air conditioner that is not working. Please don't fall into this trap like I did. My advice to anyone with air conditioning problems once they say the compressor is gone, to just purchase a new one. By all means do not buy into the Preventative Maintenance Program.
