Dan came within the hour and noticed my water heater was installed improperly. He wrote a code violation statemrnt for me and I got the other company to fix it at no charge-a BETTER PLUMBING-DO NOT USE. BUT do use Dan Goss - he is smart, honest and fair.

On time, shared his expertise and ideas, no pressure to do anything more than what the customer wants, but gives ideas to think about!! the cost was extremely reasonable.... completely trust his opinion and his work!!! great job!!! can't recommend enough!!!

I was very pleased with Dan. He showed up on time. Checked all units and provided tips on how they would run more efficiently. He was very professional, the price was fair and I will use him regularly going forward.

Dan arrived at the expected time and was certainly very patient with me, as I had electricians there doing unplanned repair at the same time, dividing my attention. We have three heating/AC units in our house and wanted to make contact with a reliable company for seasonal maintenance and possible replacement of the cooling systems. Dan did a great job of educating me on the system (it is a new house for us and I didn't even know where the filters were supposed to go.) He took care of several issues that he saw with the furnace in the attic, items that probably should have been noted during the home-buying inspection, but over-all he felt that the furnaces were in great shape. I feel that he was very thorough, careful and honest. After all inspections, including tests and replacement of the filters, he gave me a two-page report on all the work that he had done. I really enjoyed meeting him, not only is he professional, but really nice! We'll definitely have him back in the spring to look at the A/C units. This is a great company, and I highly recommend! By the way, I love Angie's List!!

It went very well. He gave me an estimated time of coming. Then called me on his way. He was able to fix the issue right then. It was a pleasure dealing with him and I would definately use him again.

Dan arrived on time and went right to work. He an Steve worked all day on a Sunday to replace the air system. the price was exactly as quoted. This is the third time I have used Dekalb Care and I can't recommend them highly enough.

Our furnace wasn't working. Dekalb Care came out, fixed the problem (debris in the circuit board) and seemed to care about the quality of the work. Given the age of the furnace, he could have tried to claim it was DOA and we needed a new one. We will be using them again.

Dan came to our home on the night of Christmas Eve to restart the furnace. He came by on his way out of town for the Holidays just to be sure that our home had heat for the large crowd expected the following morning. The fact that he came at all on such short notice was remarkable and we intend to use him to replace our furnace in the coming months. Outstanding service at a fair price.....

Dan spent 20 minutes on the phone with me asking me questions about my situation. Even though he does not work on or install heat pumps, he did not hang up once he realized that I would not be a client. He gave me his opinion on my situation and gave me referrals (complete with phone numbers) for both a heat pump installer and an energy auditor. He also recommended that I educate myself about energy on http://www.southface.org/ I'm kinda sad that I can't do business with Dan but if you have a gas heater, I'm jealous that you might get the chance to meet him and work with him!

Both times we have called Dan he responded very quickly and gave us an idea on the phone of what the problem could be. He was able to come out quickly (even on the weekend). Not only did he quickly fix both problems to our satisfaction, he also explained everything as he worked and gave us tips for how to maintain the system and prevent problems from occurring in the future. He was nice, professional, sincere, honest and didn't try to talk us into spending any additional money. His rates were very fair and reasonable. We've definitely found our A/C guy!

Dan is always reliable and seems to go beyond expectations. If there is anything he finds wrong, he makes note of it on the report and fixes it. One time he replaced the drainage tube that goes from the unit to the outside because my original tube was flattening out. The company who installed the tube said it was flattening out because of the cold weather outside and would have charged me to replace it. Dan did it for nothing, and he was not even responsible for installing it! If you ever have a choice between Dekalb CARE and Dan Goss, or some other company, choose Dan.

Dekalb Care responded within a couple hours of our call--fastest of all the people we called. After thinking the problem was the blower and he then replaced it. Our estimate was $450. However, it was not the problem and he then diagnosed it to be the circuit board. By then it was 4pm on a Friday. He had a familial issue he had to attend to. However, around 6p (did I mention it was Friday?) he came back with additional help. They worked until 8p or so until it was fixed and the vibration of putting the old blower back in was taken care of. He didn't charge for the blower work at all, and only charged for the circuit board work: $400, less than the original quote!

I called the company at 9pm on a 28 degree night when i discovered my heater was not blowing any hot air. He called me back personally 2 or 3 minutes after i talked to his 24 hour answering service. dan came at around 9 pm. he was friendly, very professional. he went right to work; had the parts he needed with him and did the job from start to finish. i awakened in a toasty, warm house this morning. i would highly recommend this company to others.

I had HVAC system installed by another company and it was not functioning properly. They sent their service techs numerous times and were unable to diagnose and solve. My neighbor recommended Dan. He came in and did a full review of the equipment and installation, and quickly had the worst of the problem diagnosed and solved. Dan saw an add'l service that needed to be performed, and I wanted to pay him to do that work, as well. He insisted the installation company needed to complete that part of the work - said it was their responsibility and that I shouldn't have to pay more to anyone else. He took time to write down exactly what they should do when they arrived so I could be assured the proper work was being done! Dan was very honest and forthcoming. I was very impressed and highly recommend him for any HVAC service/installation.

I called them and met Dan at the house. He and his partner Steve did the work punctually and for the price quoted. He was informative and helpful, never talking jargon that only another HVAC could be expected to understand. He replaced a section of gas line that was not in his initial estimate with out charging extra, and his partner came out a few days later at my request to answer a few questions I had about the location of one of the repair items and to double-check the install. He came out on his way to another job, and did not charge me for stopping by. Dekalb CARE was fair and honest, and I recommend them highly.

First I called one of the 'big' companies. They couldn't schedule me for 5 weeks. Not acceptable. I called Dekalb care and spoke to a woman that said Dan would call me right back. He did! He wanted to come see me same day! I was not available so we scheduled for the following week. He arrived on time. He was professional and polite. He was extremely friendly and we immediately struck up a conversation. He thoroughly serviced the system and explained every step he had taken. He gave me an itemized bill. I inquired as to when I should have my A/C serviced and felt he gave me an honest answer (i.e. not trying to get my business until it was truly necessary). I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Dan. He impressed me as trustworthy and honest. I will absolutely use his services again.

From the point that Dan got here, he got right to work on providing routine service on the air conditioner. He checked the filter, added algae tablets, cleaned and vacuumed drain, checked supply voltage & electricity, and checked refrigerant charge. The estimate for replacing the duct work was fair, but something he did not recommend since there were other cost effective means. He found two minor code violations - A/C is connected to a higher rated circuit breaker, and furnace doesn't have an on/off switch in plain site. He also saw that the drain tube was defective/flat and replaced it free of charge. My previous A/C company was going to charge to replace it, even though they were there to do routine maintenance.

Dan Goss came out initially to diagnose the problem with my heat/ac pump. He came at the end of his already full day and worked in the dark for several hours to get the heat working (it was very cold, in the 30's.) He came back the next day and determined that my heating coil was cracked. He ordered the needed part and completed the repair within the next 2 days.

They looked into areas that aren't normally part on an inspection such as insulation and quality of windows to help us keep down our heating costs this winter. They checked things normally not checked by other HVAC companies.

Great! Our A/C was not working at all on a hot day in May, and he was able to come out that same evening and get us fixed up within about 2 hours of my original call. He was very professional and explained everything, and he even alerted us to a possible problem with our water heater.

On President's Day I called to inquire about getting a quote to repair some damaged ductwork. The owner came out within an hour, looked at the ducts, and he gave me a quote. We scheduled a repair time for the next week at 8:30 AM. At exactly that time his service man showed up and began working on the repairs. The job was completed about two hours later. Everything went just as you would hope and expect.

Dan returned our call quickly and fit us into his schedule. We were very happy with the quality of his work.

Dekalb is very punctual and takes the time to explain the work that they are doing, properly. I am always pleased with the work they do. If we have to call them out during other unscheduled times of the year, they are very fair on their prices.

We called Dekalb on 4th of July weekend and everyone was needing air conditioning help. They could not get us help as soon as they thought we needed it so they recommended others to get to us faster. They took lots of time to help us understand our problem and I would recommend them to anyone seeking an honest knowledgeable company.
