I did not have as positive of an experience as other customers which is unfortunate because there are so many positive reviews for Atlanta Tree Arbors.  Maybe it's because I did not get Brian or Mark for my job.  Instead, I got Rodolfo Soto.  Rodolfo's name hadn't shown up in any reviews prior to the work being done, but since all the other workers' reviews were positive I thought I'd give Rodolfo a try.
Initial interactions with Rodolfo were great because he was very prompt at returning my messages and he had a very pleasant demeanor.  His team showed up a little late on the 1st day of the job, but I didn't think much of it.  Halfway through the job of cutting down 2 large pines and 1 large sycamore Rodolfo pulls me aside and tells me his team encountered some difficulties with the sycamore and asked me for $200 more due to the added labor and time of his crew.  He said it would help his team a lot, but if I wanted to I could keep the initial quote of $3400 (that doesn't include the $200 for someone else to grind the stumps who Rodolfo subcontracted).  I was not happy about it, but I agreed to the extra $200 because I figure they'd do a better job if I agreed.  At the end of the first day (Friday) he said he had an emergency job the next morning (Saturday), but said he was very likely to be done by noon and would be back at my house in the afternoon.  I then texted Rodolfo at 11am on Saturday to confirm his arrival.  I got a text saying the tree was big and he'd be at my house on Monday.  I'm not sure if that other job was a true emergency or not, but I feel like you need to focus on one job before moving onto another.  In any case, no apologies were given by Rodolfo, which increased my frustration with the way things were going.  Rodolfo and his crew came Monday and was close to finishing, but some rain held them up.  That evening Rodolfo asked for a large payment to help cover expenses as his crew was nearly done.  At that point he asked for $3800 of the $4000 that I agreed to earlier.  I was very confused what he meant because he asked for $3600 halfway through the job which I agreed to (after the pre-job quote of $3400).  He said I heard incorrectly.  With a little arguing we settled on me paying $300 more at $3700.  This is when I got really upset since I felt like he was taking advantage of my patience.   At that moment I told him to please fix the small stone retaining wall before his crew leaves Tuesday afternoon.  He told me he warned me before the job started that the yard would suffer some damage.  I then corrected him to say he told me my GRASS may suffer some damage, but not the structures in my yard.  He agreed to fix the retaining wall at that point.  When I got home on Tuesday his crew was finished and gone.   I then saw the "repaired" retaining wall which consisted of all the damaged stones being loosely stacked on top of each other.  I could have done that myself.  The retaining wall was totally compromised.  I expected more from these professionals.  By then I was super upset and just wanted the whole job to be over with, but the stump grinders still had to come.  The stump grinders came on Thursday.  I left the $200 payment before the job started because I didn't want to miss any more days from work and I figured stump grinding was a pretty straight forward job.  Well the stump grinders grinded the stumps, but left three gigantic piles of mulch.  I texted Rodolfo to see if they were going to remove the large piles of mulch, but his prompt responsiveness disappeared and I never heard back from him.
I feel like Rodolfo put on a very pleasant facade to get my business, but his courteousness progressively faded as the job neared completion.  Rodolfo seemed to employ 'bait and switch' tactics and his degrading attitude by the end of the job was unsettling.  I don't consider him a trustworthy individual so I urge extreme caution for anyone who decides to work with him in the future.  Hopefully he'll prove that my unpleasant experience was an isolated one.

They were great.  I had 3 dead/dying trees removed in April 2014.  I scheduled only the removal of these 3 as we could not tell the overall appearance of the other 3 trees as they were very close to each other.    These were my "privacy fence" near the property line.  We decided to let the other 3 trees remain and see how they did once the first 3 trees were removed.  In October, I had them remove the other 3 trees as their appearance had not improved and I decided to re-landscape that entire area.  They were prompt and professional.  They removed all of these 70' tall trees and ground the stumps, spreading the sawdust around the area.  I have recommended them to my HOA and would use them again.

Crew was professional, Trees had to be climbed and cut from the top and roped to the ground as there was not enough room to just cut and drop the whole tree.  They were fast, mulched limbs and debris and hauled away anything too large to mulch. Clean up was very good.  I would highly recommend this service!

The owner, Dale, was very professional over the phone, giving me a ballpark estimate based on my description and then meeting me a few days later when I was ready to proceed with a firm quote.  He walked through everything with me, letting me know where something I was considering would add significant cost and offering alternatives that would cost less.  After I got estimates from other companies, I called him back and scheduled a time after Thanksgiving.  He called me back the next day saying that his best crew was now available for before the holidays if I wanted to get it done faster.  He came back with the crew and walked through everything with them to make sure they understood exactly what I wanted and what my concerns were.  The trick here was that I had hardwoods that were in the middle of the pines, sometimes actually wrapped around them, that I didn't want hurt; a medium sized sweetgum in the front and a small maple and cherry in the back.  They got everything down and out without so much as nicking the bark of the hardwoods.  The crew lead 'Gonzalo' was an airborne artist with a chainsaw directing a crew of 5-7 men that reminded me of a pit crew at a NASCAR race.  Gonzalo made the cuts and pointed where he wanted the logs to go; nothing that hit the ground stayed there longer than a few minutes.  Everything was either chipped or cut in long lengths and stacked out front for pick-up.  It had rained the day before and they didn't want to damage the backyard so they HANDCARRIED the logs out.  These were 14-16 inch pines cut in minimum 8 ft lengths; that was not easy to do.  They got everything done in 1 day and the stump grinder came the next day.  The logs were picked up within 1 day as well.  They far exceeded my expectations and did it for $2,000 less than the other company I interviewed.  I'm EXTREMELY happy with the whole experience!

They did a great job. Khristof came to give me an estimate and due to another cancellation was able to do the job the same day!!! His crew showed up on time, worked very efficiently and extremely fast. It was actually very entertaining to watch them work with all the theatrics. Wish I had a video camera handy. They were in and out in about an hour. I had some other estimates from others and they wanted to charge 3 times as much and were booking 2-3 weeks out. Needless to say, I am very happy.

This team did an excellent job and it was a joy to work with Rodolfo Soto. He came on Friday to free the cars and removed almost one entire tree by himself. On Monday, the entire crew came, finished the job in the front yard and removed the big pine from the back yard. They cleaned up everything and removed all traces of tree limbs and branches from the yard. They ground up everything except some for some of the big tree trunk parts. They took those huge pieces away instead. When they were done, they cleaned up the yard, raked the grass, and blew off the driveway. Our yard looked immaculate.
They were extremely good at their jobs, very professional, and very courteous. They also worked quickly and completed the job without any hang ups.

Well it started out great almost to the very end.  The owner and I spoke and setup a time for an estimate on what I needed done.  He came out and was very pleasant and knowledgeable.  He gave me the estimate and I was surprised because I thought it was going to be more than what he quoted me.  I then started adding on additional work because of his good prices! I already had heavy logs cut up in my back yard when I moved into my new home. He then went and treated and marked the trees that will be cut down.  We scheduled the apt for the next week.
The crew came, started working, it was very interesting watching them work, and they did a good job but had to come back the next day.  The head of the crew negotiated additional services to remove the logs that were already there and to basically clear the whole back yard and make it very neat for additional $150 which I agreed to.
They came back the next day and it was raining, awhile after the head of the crew knocked on the door and started explaining to me they ran out of room and cannot finish the additional work for the $150 so will take off $50!! My husband overheard him talking and came outside. I went back in the house but my husband proceeded to talk to him and said that was not the agreement! He was very understanding about the situation, he said you are right and we didn?t finish what I said we were so took off another $50 so in total we got $100 taken off for what they didn?t finish.  He said they are in the area a lot so one day he would see get permission and comeback and finish for $150.  I agreed.
Well about a day or 2 later after it stopped raining, we walked on the side of the house and that whole side grass was pulled up and muddy a mess!! They pulled the extra-large truck on the side of the house in the grass instead of staying on the driveway like they did the before!!!
I immediately called the owner and repeatedly got the answering machine, I left several messages to no avail, and about maybe 2-3 weeks I finally got him and he stated he was out of town and will call me back when he got back but never heard from anyone again.
The work they did do was excellent, and I have even since referred them to another person, but I would have liked a better outcome in my situation

I had a 50 foot northern pine that was struck by lightning and lost several limbs.  Atlanta Tree Arbors quoted for removal of tree and the cut up limbs from the lightning strike  They were flexible in their schedule to complete the work the next day.  They were prompt, professional and quick.  The tree and all the cut up limbs were gone and they finished clean up in less than two hours.  The service was outstanding and I would highly recommend them for any tree removal services required.

They brought in two teams of five workers each, one team per tree. They worked very hard and had both trees gone by the end of the day. The two supervisors were there all day and everything went very smoothly.

I was contacted by the owner, Brian, within 24 hours of my request on Angie's List.  Brian provided a quote within 48 hours of 1st contact.  I got several quotes, and their price was the most competitive.  It was difficult scheduling the date for the work to commence due to the weather, but Brian was always responsive when I called.  During the many phone conversations, I added a few services such as removing the tree stumps. and we agreed on a price.  When the work commenced, the supervisor on the job was unaware that removing the stumps was included in the scope of work.  When he verified it with the owner, he did not remember either until I reminded him about the conversation we had on the phone.  He admitted that he had forgotten, but did recall the conversation, and he honored the quoted price.
They were prompt, worked professionally, and quickly, and they left everything neat and clean.  It did take 2 extra days for the subcontractor to come and remove the tree roots, and the truck to pick up the remaining large logs, but it wasn't a major inconvenience for us..  Brian, the owner, was easy to work with, responsive, and fair.

The Atlanta Tree Arbor team showed up on time and got to work quickly.  The maple was down and the massive oak was almost completely down by lunch time without the use of a crane (wow!).  Brian's team very effectively and safely roped the trees down.  The crew (approximately 11 guys) immediately cut up branches and chipped wood as each piece came down.  It was like watching a well tuned machine in progress; they were extremely efficient.  The sweet gums were taken down in the afternoon quickly, safely, and efficiently.  The crew neatly stacked oak and maple wood in my yard as well as my neighbor's yard (that we have requested to keep).  Everything else had been loaded onto a truck for haul away and the chipped wood was hauled away on a separate truck.  They also cleaned up the back yard areas where the trees had come down and picked up stray branches/chips that had fallen from hauling everything to the trucks.  The team was also very professional and checked in with us a few times to make sure we didn't have any questions or concerns.  Needless to say, my neighbors and I were extremely impressed with Atlanta Tree Arbor and we will use them for tree work again in the future.

I purchased the big deal and they were fine.  They were very good.  I think they were able to cut down the tree for that price, I don't remember paying any extras.  Their price was very fair and they did not leave a mess.  They cleaned up everything, every bit of trimming and everything that was left over from cutting down the tree they took.

Removed one large oak in back yard and pruned two large oaks in front yard. All and all a good job. A few big dents in the yard where the large pieces of wood landed that I will have to level out, but the work I will have to to level this out is worth the price. Next closest price was twice as much.

I contacted this tree service because of the ratings on Angie's list and because they indicate that they service my area.  I had contact with them last Monday the 7th to schedule an estimate and spoke to a very nice representative who took my address, asked what work I wanted completed, and asked if I needed to present for them to give me an estimate.  I told them that I did not and then I was told I would receive an estimate in the next couple of days after they sent someone out.  This was not a big deal as this work(removing three Bradford Pears and some stump grinding) was not an emergency.  I waited an entire week with no phone call or any type of follow up from the company.  When I called to inquire, on the 14th, they acted as if it was a problem to come to my area and said they didn't typically service Rockdale County.  I asked the representative why they had on Angie's list that they did, and he told me it was not a problem and he would have someone call me the next day to set it up.  No phone call as of yet.  I am sorry, do you want my money or not?  If  you don't service my area, then 1) don't advertise that you do, and 2) Just tell me that and we can both move on.  Your company left me hanging for a week.  If you are over booked just call me and tell me that.  It's not that hard, and I am not unreasonable.  I just thought people should know about my experience with their responsiveness before wasting the amount of time I did.  And also, if you live in the Rockdale area, I guess that is not an area they service.

They arrived at 8:30 just as they had promised.  Within 30 minutes the first 5 trees were down.  One of the trees was a 3' diameter poplar, 80' tall.  This tree took them about an hour to take down.  Because the tree was taller and larger than any other trees in our yard there was no way to ease it to the ground so holes were left where the trunks landed.  They were ready with rakes and shovels and repaired the yard within minutes after the tree sections came down.

Three trees came down in the back yard that were all dead or dying.  All of these were threatening the house and inery close proximity to our deck and the childrens tree house.  They took all 3 down with no damage to the deck or the house.  These three were cut into firewood and piled neatly next to the deck.

All of the branches and smaller limbs were chipped and the waste hauled away.  Debris and leaves were raked up and hauled away as well.  The only portion of the job not done yet is hauling away the 20' sections of the 80' poplar in the front yard, and then the stump grinding.  The stump grinding is scheduled for tomorrow, and the trunks are supposed to be hauled away later on today.

I would HIGHLY recommend Atlanta Tree Arbors for anyone needing a high quality, and professional job done removing trees.
