Two men from New York Minute arrived 30 minutes early for our appliance delivery and installation. Microwave was wrong size (too small) for the opening in our kitchen. When they installed it and we pointed out that they had the wrong microwave, they laughed and said too bad, we can't take it back because there is a 15% restocking fee. Also stated that they couldn't take it back if we wanted to dispute the restocking fee, as there would be no one there to authorize any changes to the fee. Very rude and uncooperative. The refrigerator was next. When bringing in the new fridge, they had to remove the screen door, and when they put it back, they misaligned the pneumatic door closer, so that it caught on the door frame. When we pointed that out, they said that's the way it was. They removed the old fridge, put the new one in place, but could not get it all the way in due to the fridge being too tall! When asked if that was the way the refrigerator was supposed to be, they answered "No," and went on to the dishwasher. They made no attempt and were obviously not interested in finding a way to adjust the fridge to make it fit. They did crawl into the crawlspace to turn on the water line to the ice maker. The dishwasher was the capper. They removed the old one, and then tried to force the new one into place. There was some interference from the water line and the drain line, and they then drilled two 3" holes right through the subfloor to reposition the plumbing. We questioned this and they just said they had to do it that way. They still couldn't get past the water line, so they forced the dishwasher into place and said that was the best they could do and they wanted us to sign the papers so they could go. In the meantime, they've completely trashed the kitchen, the dishwasher is still not properly leveled, secured or installed and when asked if they were going to clean up, one of the men said, "What? Do you want me to use your broom to clean up your kitchen?" Finally, the appliances themselves were left with grimy fingerprints all over them. They made absolutely no attempt to clean up after themselves. Again, they were extremely rude and unprofessional. Bottom line for me is that this company should stick to delivering packages. They are completely incompetent to install anything requiring the least mechanical skill. And there is no way they should interact with real people.
Description of Work: This company was contracted by a home improvement store to deliver and install new refrigerator, new dish washer and new microwave.
