Mathnasium - Tuskawilla

Mohammed Khalil (the owner) administered some math tests and evaluated our child for math tutoring.  It took him a day or so to develop a tutoring plan.  He allowed our child to be tutored for a day or so while my spouse and I considered the plan.  The service they offered seemed very nice, and our child liked Mathnasium.
He provided two plans, one for six months' duration and another for a year's duration.  The paperwork asked for our banking account numbers, for monthly auto-payment.  My spouse and I were reluctant to provide our account information, due to identity theft considerations.  Mohammed would not permit payment by check every month, which seems unusual.  Many other services we obtain like this for our child, including tutoring services, are fine with monthly checks for payment.
We asked for consideration, but Mohammed was discourteous to our concerns.  He become confrontational when we did not want to cooperate with his payment method.  We inquired with the franchising headquarters whether bank account information was normal procedure with Mathnasium, but they took a hands off attitude.  They were not concerned about our query.
It seems unusual that there was either hostility or lack of concern for a new family.
When we were considering the payment method, and trying to work with our bank to assuage our identity theft concern, we received a communication from Mohammed that our business would not be accepted.  It is ironic, because we were about to agree to the payment method.
It would be interesting to look again at the "fine print" of the service agreement paperwork and see whether Mohammed's business plan would continue to collect the monthly fee automatic payment even if we withdrew our child from Mathnasium before the end of the 6 months or year.  I sure hope not.
