Cactus Cooling and Heating Co

We lost AC service Friday night and called them Saturday morning.  They scheduled an appointment for 2pm that same day.  I got a call from them at 11am and was asked if it was OK if they came earlier.  After giving my OK they were at my house at noon and had AC restored by 12:30.  There is nothing not to like about these guys.  Matthew was professional, prompt and thorough.  He replaced the faulty part with one in his truck eliminating any delay to obtaining correct part.  I will use these guys again for any needed repair without hesitation.

I had another AC guy come out and tell me I needed a new $4000 AC unit, but the representative from cactus came out and repaired the broken wires for $98.

The technician was courteous and professional.  He worked out the issue and solution and explained them both.  Support from the office was quick and thorough.  This was a typical Florida A/C timing issue where the unit quit working on a Saturday morning.  Catus came out on the same day and fixed it for us.

Our house AC stopped working in a summer night, which was very frustraiting. I have called four different companies and Cactus Cooling was the one who accepted to come next day. They scheduled to come between 1200-1300, I called on 1200 and they said the will be there on 13:00, and he was here on time.
He checked the outside unit, based on the noise he guessed the problem is the capacitor. He changed it very quickly and the unit started working. He knew what he was doing and did it really fast and quick. However, when I asked him how much the capacitor cost, he told me $100, but when I looked it up in Amazon, the price was about $20 !! At that point I started to think twice about anything he was saying.
He then said the unit needs Gas, and he adjusted the gas level on the device. I did not notice any problem with device and the electricity bill was not high, so I don't think that was necessary, but I can not say that by sure.
Anyways, at end he asked for $200, and when I asked for price decrease he offered $172. I think it was not worth it, but as they were quite fast and responsive and fixed the AC in hot florida day, I appreciate their service. Next time, I will try to fix it myself, or I will double check the price before they start doing anything.

UPDATE: to be completely honest with your customers you should not have mentioned that a capacitor costs $100, while you are mentioning here it is only $40.

Rich Mongiove and his son, Matthew, showed up on Mothers Day! Mr. Mangiove's greeting was "No mother should have to go without air conditioning on Mothers Day." y They were friendly and very efficient. They diagnosed the problem quickly and, just as quickly replaced a blown condenser.  The charge of 127.00 was significantly less than the last time we had the condenser replaced, by someone else. When we wrote them a check for the work, I also tipped him $20. He said, "Give it to my son. He needs it more than me." I accidentally gave him a 50 dollar bill instead of a 20. When Matthew saw it, he asked "Are you sure you meant to give me this much?"  That really blew me away. What a nice family business, run by honest people.

Cactus was used in the spring of last year and the spring of this year for spring tune-ups. Since then, Cactus was called to troubleshoot and repair a fault in the system. The work was done in an excellent and expeditious manner each time.

I live in a manufactured home in Winter Springs, FL. I had a new air conditioner / heat pump installed 2 1/2 years ago (not by Cactus unfortunately), and for the past week the air conditioner just wasn't putting out enough cool air.
So, I searched Angies List and found Cactus near my home. I called them on Thursday afternoon and they were here on Friday morning. Rich and Matt were very friendly and throughly inspected my A/C for a leak and filled it with "freon". Rich came back again in the afternoon to find another problem. I am happy to report that both my A/C and heat pump are performing wonderfully.
I highly recommend Cactus Heating and Cooling Co. They have 40 years of experience, are a family owned and run business and provide expert, prompt, and reasonably priced service!

Mr. Mongiove and his team are excellent!  He does a great job with customers and with installing AC/heat units in a prompt and timely way.  We really enjoyed the experience with Cactus!  He helped out with factory refund processes and government credits.  His team has returned to perform normal maintenance service on the unit and there were no issues. Our unit has saved us money on monthly electricity bills. 

Our unit failed to work correctly Saturday, and not sure how to find a honest repair person my husband hit the yellow pages, but unsuccessful due to lack of information. Preparing for church Sunday, we saw an "Angie's List" commercial and decided to join. After Church we completed our first search and had the best deal offered to us by "Cactus cooling and heating Co."  The owner called me Sunday around pm and agreed to send a technician out by the name of Matt on Monday, 07.11.11 @ 11:00am. Matt arrived at 10:00am and got right to work. He was very professional, and extremely knowledgable. He identified the problem with-in minutes, but continued as promised with a full diagnostic check. He made us aware of some things that may be a problem in the future due to normal ware and tear. The final cost was actually a few dollars less than the phone quote. By 10:30am my husband was writing the check and by 10:45 I was writing this review. I would say "Cactus Cooling and Heating Co. was very  responsible and fair in all areas relating to this job. I will keep their card forever. Cactus Cooling and Heating Co. was the only company that responded once I mentioned I located them from "Angie's List"  Your service call will be $$, because we really appreciate customers from "Angie's List"" He stated. So right off the bat I saved money. I can save you time and money by simply advising you to contact  "Cactus Cooling and Heating Co. for all of your AC/Heating repairs.

He replaced the capacitator and the air started working right away.

They were very responsive. They were reasonably priced and very good. They were professional and polite. I recommend them to others and will use them in the future.

We are on a yearly contract with Cactus Heating and Cooling to take care of the maintenance of our heat and air conditioning. They keep everything running so smoothly, we have never had to have them out for any additional service calls. They are reliable and thorough. I recommend them.

The installation of my system was completed in one day by his excellent crew, which was performed within the week of me agreeing to use their services. WOW!! This company is the best. A must company to use if you are in the market for any Heating & Cooling.
