At New Horizons, we love the Florida lifestyle. That’s why we’ve structured our business to provide products that enhance the lifestyle of our customers. We are centrally located and within easy reach of Metro Orlando and the Central Florida area. New Horizons was founded in January 2003 by Chuck LaPeters. With Chuck's management and sales experience he was able to kick start the company into rapid success. His vision is to bring innovative quality products to central Florida, while providing the highest measure of customer service and trust possible. We really love what we do, but we take our business very seriously. We believe our company and the products we carry are above the competition and we are recognized as the innovative leader in our industries. We wouldn't have it any other way. Our office is conveniently located in Winter Park, FL, very close to the intersection of Aloma Ave. (Highway 426) and The GreeneWay (Highway 417). Almost all of Central Florida is no more than 30 minutes away. We have our products set up in our showroom and we would love to have you come by. Just be sure to call first! All of our installers are insured and background tested. We are also an A+ rated Accredited business with the Central Florida Better Business Bureau. It is our number 1 priority to ensure satisfaction from the moment of first contact and throughout the entire relationship and beyond. We travel for work frequently and our time is very limited. So scheduling any installation or repair at our home has always been a really chore and hit-miss, especially in Central Florida where time seems to be elastic. So for this job, we were delighted that everything has gone so well.
The team shows up on time. A BIG HUGE thing in Florida for our experience. They were very friendly, greeted us and introduced themselves. They reconfirmed with us the scope of the work, and went over everything in case any detail may have been missed or not communicated. Then they get to work. There were 2 teams, 1 team, team A installs the motorized roll-up screens, and the other team, team B, installs the permanent screen panel with a manual swing-out door.
First team B - This installer definitely has many years of experience. He worked at a steady pace and everything was done with precision. I was really impressed that there were no second cut or redo the entire time I witnessed his installation. A true sign of and quot;I know what I am doing!and quot; We exchanged pleasant chits chats, and the whole time, his eyes are definitely on his job. Maybe it now has become his second nature of installing these panels. Kudos for the excellent work.
Team A - This installation requires 2 persons, and both members of the team were right on. They work well together and in sync. They are both mellow but meticulous with their work. One has done the work before, and the other one was new at the job. That said, they move steadily and not rush through their work. The motorized screens are very long and heavy, and I am very glad I have this installed instead of attempting a DIY. Both installers work right through their lunch break and didn't complain or skip a beat. A very good sign of high professionalism.
There was a mixed up in the delivery of one of the screens. It turns out that the screen manufacturer has shipped a wider screen than what was ordered. This was caught by the owner, who also was at the installation site. He quickly arranged for the delivery of the right size screen the same day. Luckily, the manufacturer was able to deliver it to the job site and Chuck (the owner) has saved the day.
The installation took almost 5 hours; it was longer than expected due to the delivery of the wrong size screen. That said, everything was done neatly. They caulked all gaps and corners... and get this... they cleaned up after themselves... what a concept! They left our lanai completely clean just as they have found it at the start.
I am not sure if the presence of the owner during the installation has made a difference, but I can say that we are very happy with New Horizons Go Retractable. They programmed the roll-up screens, tested them, and then explained to me how to use the remote control. Chuck went through the care and maintenance of the screen with us, and left us with phone number in case adjustment/repair is needed. I can't ask for anything more from these folks, and we agreed that our money was very well spent.
Overall, we got the impression that Chuck cares a lot about quality over speed. We think that this approach can only bring happy customers and lots of referral; we know we will be his word-of-mouth in the future. We appreciate his upfront communication especially when there is a problem, and his willingness to make things right for us. That is the cornerstone of his character.
