Addition to Existing Structure - Build - For Business
$40,000
I've known Rich for years and have given him hundreds of thousands of dollars in business. I also trained him at my gym twice a week for ages so I was absolutely shocked that he walked off a job, stole my money and caused massive flooding damage. He stopped responding to calls and texts and basically disappeared. He was hired to build an extension to my building and then renovate a bathroom but his really unprofessional (and unlicensed) people came and put concrete down so that the slope would slant towards the building. The first time it rained, my business was flooded (obviously). Rich took no responsibility, never apologized (well I didn't know it was going to rain, he said. In Florida. in August.) It rained 2 days later, we flooded again, and then again. He just walked away. So don't fall for his aw shuck, I love Bible study routine. He's a shady and absolutely awful person and does very shoddy work. Even for people he's known for years and who have helped him out.

Harry Huffman and his crew built an approx 150 sq ft addition to our bedroom, comprised of a walk-in closet and bathroom with double sink, toilet and walk in shower. From beginning to end his services were professional and on time and on budget. He does a lot of the work himself, along with his 2 sons, and sometimes extra helpers when needed. Harry knows how to save money and recycles when he can. We cannot say enough about this business. They never surprised us with hidden costs. It was the smoothest construction project we've ever been involved in. Five weeks from permit to final and we are so happy with the result.

Overall Harry is a fine gentleman and what he touches is high quality, and the negotiated prices of work was very fair. There were issues with responsiveness and timeliness when he became busy with other work. Electrical and kitchen subcontractor were very good. I would have provided an A for quality but the painter subcontractor he hired dragged this down. The painter's work was a disaster with over pray and inconsistency. Overall for HR Contractors, good.

Harry is an absolute godsend. I would recommend this man to anyone who has reservations about hiring a contractor. We are opening a store near UCF and had 3 contractors bail on us before we found Harry. Throughout the process Harry orchestrated plans, permits, and execution. Let me mention something else I was a 3 1/2 drive away so my hands on supervision was limited I met him once to show the store and then a second time to pay him.
Harry walked us through the permitting process and provided us with a tracking number that allowed us to monitor progress. He called us everyday to update on status and sent pictures when applicable to see work. Harry was responsible and timely, he gave us fair quotes, and provided honest and hard work. There were a couple of projects that required electrical and plumbing work, Harry set us up with two colleagues who completed the plumbing and electrical work for us in the same fashion as Harry. Harry even went as far as meeting with them and overseeing the job.
I really could not have asked anything more out of a contractor and will use Harry for anything else we do. He is a stand up guy and easy to deal with. If anyone would like a reference please feel free to give TOTAL NUTRITION a call at 407-730-3573 we would be happy to show you his work.

Harry did much of the installation himself with an helper. He is just enough of a perfectionist to get things right and to make needed adjustments without being asked. He adjusted well to a mid-construction change when we requested to move a wall he just built. Without out complaint he said he would handle it and the cost for the change was minimal given how far he had gotten.
Harry is seasoned and smart. His experience and general construction knowledge is a HUGE asset. We was a real pleasure to work with and we felt he was always honest with us.
As we learned, construction (especially demolition) is a messy process. With any Contractor it is to your advantage to provide thick, wide  tarps to protect the floor between the front door and the work area. The Contractor tries to protect it, but the $30 in long tarps saved us hundreds in carpet cleaning.

The bath had to be completely gutted, everything was removed.  Harry is very meticulous about his work.  He started with a clean
slate.  He taped off the area so that dust and other debris would not travel throughout the house.  Every day he left, he cleaned up
the area and that was greatly appreciated by me.  The tile work, installation of toilet, tub, shower, sink and cabinetry is lovely.  I
have had nothing but compliments .  I have and will again use this company for small and large projects around my home.

Harry was prompt, professional and very good at trouble shooting and problem solving the difficult issues our additions involved.  He personally supervised all members of his crew but did most of the work himself.  We didn't have to worry about passing any of the inspections of the work that HR Contractors completed. No job was too big or too small for HR Contractors.  If they couldn't do it they were resourceful in finding someone that could.  Honest and fair.  A+ work and work ethic.  Highly recommend.
