I never write bad reviews however, please do not use this company. The most unprofessional people ever. Lauri Knowles by far is the worst person I ever encountered. The first time Lauri came to give us a quote, she did not wear a mask. I had to politely ask her to wear a mask. Two months later, her husband came to do some measurements he did not have a mask as well. I had to ask him to wear a mask. Mind you he just came from another appointment and I'm assuming he did not wear a mask there. The next day Laurie calls me to inform me that she was not going to require her workers to wear face covering during installation in December. She even had the audacity to suggest that during the install, I should take our 4 small children to Disney Springs as a solution to workers not wearing face coverings and possibly exposing my family to COVID. This is absurd...... My entire family has been very blessed to be able to stay at home since the pandemic hit. Now this is the most stupid solution I ever heard. My family safety is my top priority. Lauri was so unprofessional to deal with!!! , As a paying customer, she argued back and forth with me, insulted my intelligence, extremely disrespectful and had an attitude with me about wearing a stupid mask!!!! Long story short- she took our deposit and did NOT complete the job! The worst part at the end she made a RACIST CONDESCENDING comment and talk about politics. She stated "all lives matter" to me ... which I felt it was intensional, disrespectful, insulting you can say to a customer considering the climate of our country and it's race relation (we are African American). This is not the first incident where racist undertone have come in to play for this company. There are google reviews, BBB complaint reflect this. I'm a firm believer, you reap what you sow. This company does not deserve to have your business. A company that does not care about their customers health and well being which is everyone's priority at a time like this. It's common sense when you have a business, you never talk about politics nor say disrespectful and racist things to your paying customer... people are so stupid... Racist and horrible people I ever encountered.... and they took our money!!!!

These folks are crooks! I have never dealt with anyone as a customer who is as mean, nasty and heartless as the owner's wife and business partner! They owe me thousands of dollars per the contract which was suppose to be paid to a subcontractor by them. Instead, they kept the money for themselves which forced me to pay the subcontractor out of my own pocket. They don't return phone calls or reply to text messages regarding this matter. Under NO circumstances should you ever do business with them unless you want to get RIPPED OFF as well. In addition, my cabinet doors have defects in the material, they never came back to install the handles to open the doors like they agreed to AND failed to follow the guidelines of the county inspection regarding access to the gas shut off valve. BEWARE!!!! Use them at your own risk!!!!!!!

BUYER BEWARE!!!  Do not sign this contract!  This company's former name was CAROLINA CABINETRY.  DON'T BE FOOLED!  I hired this company to build a home office, media center, two closets, master bath vanity, a library, and an armoire.  Unfortunately I signed our contract 2/24/12.  And as embarrassed as I am to say this I did not read the contract thoroughly.  Ms. Knowles did not highlight the small print of "All time frames for deliveries are approximate," "Drawings are NOT to be used for technical purposes,"  "No Cancellations." and "disputes are to be settled by Arbitration."  The result of this:  I was promised a six to eight week lead time for the first install with installs following every two weeks.  30 weeks later after signing our contract and many disagreements of substandard work and refusal to fix the pieces that had been installed NOT TO THE SPECIFICATIONS I WAS GIVEN (because drawings are not to be used for technical purposes), I tried to cancel one of the remaining pieces.  This then allowed them to demand all remaining monies.  I asked Ms. Knowles multiple times to prove to me that she had the material.  She did not do so.  This then ensued us going to arbitration per our contract.  I was found in Breach of Contract because there are no cancellations per this contract.  This contract allows their company to: 1) deliver when they want with no limitations, 2) change the drawings upon install without your notification, 3) any attempts of cancellations you are out of your money and product,  and 4) then they hide behind arbitration because there is no public record for any disputes that are processed through arbitration.
  Inadequate work performed:  Home Office there is no "set-back" for the books on the book shelves.  (They were built to a size of 8 1/2" by 11.")  Bathroom Vanity this took 7 months to complete because there were so many problems.  (Side note on this:  Ms. Knowles hired a subcontractor to do the marble work, he then threatened to put a lien on my home unless they paid him.  This is known as a contractor law that is valid in Florida!  Even though I did not hire him directly, I hired Carolina Cabinetry/Florida Home Theater Cabinets, since the work was done at my home subcontractors are allowed to do this).  Closet was to hold approximately 100 pairs of shoes; after install it held 20 (eventually this was fixed somewhat, to hold 60 pairs.)  Media Center was to accommodate a 60" TV; they installed a media center that does not accommodate my existing 55" with proper air flow, per the TV manufacturer's specifications.  Media centers are supposed to be their "specialty."
 Again I am embarrassed and humiliated that I signed this contract.  I have never seen a contract that waives consumer's rights so aggressively.....until now.   The deceptive practices that they use are deplorable.  This is the most unethical business I have ever dealt with.
 I have no doubt that Ms. Knowles will try to contradict everything I have stated here, but it is all truth and I have extensive documentation to prove it.

I wish I would have checked on Angie's List before hiring these jokers.  Not only did they take longer than they promised, the quality was mediocre.  The owners are a husband and wife team but they love passing the buck and not taking responsibility.  
My experience with them has been very painful.  They built a cabinet for my TV but I was not happy with the finish.  The husband, Dan, promised to send his painter to make the finish darker.  When I never heard back from him, I called and spoke with his wife.  Her response was, "Dan is in charge of that.  I will ask him to call you."  I did not hear back from Dan so I called again, and again, and again.  I have called over 4 times.  The wife's latest response was that they cannot guarantee the finish but she will ask Dan to call me.  Of course, I have not heard from Dan.
Don't use these guys.  They don't stand behind their work.  I have my own business too and follow up is the most part of maintaining and growing your business.  Obviously, they don't care about repeat business.

As we started to examine closely, we found that a lot of places had "nicks" in the wood, "nicks" where the electric screwdriver had slipped ( that is what happens when a phone is in one hand and a screwdriver in the other), small openings between the walls of the unit, and most outstanding, large openings between the top base of the unit and the decorative crown molding at the top. We called about the need to have this looked at and was told that they still had some work to do at my neighbor's house and they would take care of our needs when they came back to his house. Upon returning to our house, Mr. Knowles came along with his laborer and they used a large portion of two "furniture magic markers" to cover up the "nicks" and unfinished materials and told us they would have to return to fill in the openings with " a color caulking." While we were not happy to think that we paid this kind of money for nice piece of furn. that had to be caulked, touched up with color pencils and a couple of additional brackets put in, we agreed to give him the benefit of the doubt.

This past Monday, the laborer showed up after we called and complained about the lack of response to our issues. The laborer came, with his caulking gun, his tool kit and his magic markers and fixed what he could. But, when we pressed him about the crown moulding and why it would not fit in the front versus the back, he let slip "that a lot of times they get wood that is flawed, warped, or bowed.

Shortly into the workling session, my wife called Mr. Knowles and he basically said that his man had told him a different story that he was getting from her.

After a lengthy conversation that basically ask Mr. Knowles, "what do you plan on doing to make this job right since you told us that you never left a customer dissatisfied" he said he would get back with us. I JUST DON'T THINK HE HAS ANY INTENTION OF GETTING BACK WITH US AS HE HAS HIS MONEY. OUR NEIGHBOR WOULD NOT EVEN LET HIM BACK IN HIS HOUSE THE LAST VISIT.

I hate to tamper with people's livelyhoods, but I will tell you that I will never reccomend this company to anyone, even  my enemies.

I am sorry that we got rid of our old unit as I at least knew what we had when we bought it thru a furniture store. At least if there was something wrong with it, I could count on getting it fixed.

PS: If you do business with this company, try to keep your dealings with Mr Knowles. I made the mistake of calling, getting Ms Knowles on the phone and I realize that it was only Monday, but she must have really had a bad weekend.
