The quality of the doors is very poor. The installation went worse.
B-Calm Services came out and measured the existing doors and then ordered for us two replacement sliding glass doors. One door is approximately 6' and the other is 9'. The 6' door has two panels, the 9' door has three panels.
The installation went horribly, two guys brought the doors and from the beggining I was worried. They asked for more money and told me they had to cut some new plywood in the base of the door, so i said okay. Then they told me that they didn't know how I wanted it installed for the General Contractor to trim out the doors. The GC came over and talked to them and told them what he wanted them to do so that the GC could trim out the sliding glass doors.
Basically, the doors were installed and the installers locked up and left the building after I did. They said there were going to be awhile, and I had to leave, they left the house at 6:30 PM after 4 hours of working on the two doors.
When I got back to the doors, they didn't slide open, the were installed horribly and it looked like a joke of an installation. The doors are in the same room, in the same corner of the room, and they were installed 3/4" different heights. One door was installed completely different than the other. The doors were already broken and hard to open (both doors), and the the lock wasn't able to lock. The GC told me they did a horrible job. I have known my GC for years, and he was laughing and the horrible job. The screws were in crooked and so tight they dented out the tracks. The door was put in so that one door, being put in differently than the other, has a 1.5" metal lip that is flush on one side, and 3/8" above the floor on the other. The other door the lip is buried in the floor, with a 3/8" hole/slot to the wood flooring. They left it with out caulking the door, so there were just shims and a 3/4" gap on the two sides (of both doors) that were totally open. The doors were installed un-even, at different heights, and don't square up to the outside or the inside or anywhere. The tracks are different colors, and the screws are denting the tracks and where put in at angles. It looks like amateur hour.
I called and complained, they sent the same two clowns out again, they caulked up the seems (they admitted they didnt' do it) and they repaired the doors to they could open (sort of), they also installed some bar in the large door so that it could now lock. But the installation was not fixed, as in, the doors are still 3/4" different in height, and they still look like a child installed them.
After they left I spoke to the sales person and he offered to have the two clowns come out and trim out the doors, but I don't want them near my house ever again, they just were incompetent and full of excuses. I have since gone out to the doors and they don't work again, the large door is sticky, they have bare screws sticking out of the bar which allows them to lock, and the lock on the smaller door doesn't work. I regret paying the balance of the invoice, and tomorrow I am telling B-Calm that I am canceling the Visa payment if they don't come out for a third time and fix the broken doors. I should have demanded that they re-install them, but I am not sure I would get anything any better.
Today, the second time they came out, they just walked out with out asking me to look at the doors they had just worked on for a second time. They walked out and shut the door, which is fine, I don't need pleasantries, but they left because they didn't want my opinion of thier shoddy work, and they knew it was well deserved. The installer spent 20 minutes on the phone with his boss whining about stuff, but I didn't care to listen to him speak on the phone to his boss.
The doors look and feel very cheap, and don't slide well. Also, the tracks are sliver on the bottom, white on the sides and top, and basically the bottom track (sills) don't match the rest of the vinyl door. The products are just as crappy as the installation. We thought were were getting better than Home Depot doors, and it turns out we got worse. These have the look and feel of the lowest builders grade doors possible. I am calling them again tomorrow and demanding they fix the locks (at least).
Seriously, these clowns don't belong in the door and window business, don't use them again for anything, they are jokes and do a horrible job. I will up date this review after tomorrow if anything improves, but don't count on them re-installing the doors or anything.
As a way to prove my evaluation of the horrible job, my contractor could hardly conceal his laughter and the crappy doors and horrible installation, and said next time just have him get the doors and install them. The GC was there at both the first installation and the second follow-up repair installation.
I can not possibly write anything positive about this experience.
Update - Scott (the General Manager and possibly the owner) came out to inspect the doors, and he agreed they were installed horribly and looked like crap. He at first made many excuses, but when asked the question, would you accept this at your house, his answer was "No". Scott and his installer (who wouldn't stop talking/making excuses) left after accepting that they got their money and were not willing to do anything to improve the situation, they just shut the door behind them as they got into their truck.
Scott knows we will never call his business again, and agrees that the job was horrible, but he just walked out and left it at that. B Calm Services is a business that is comfortable knowing they did a horrible job and don't care enough to remedy the situation, they are fully aware and agree that they did a horrible job, but they got their money and that's it.
Do not, by any means, give any business to B Calm Services, they are not a contractor that you want to do business with whatsoever.
