RIG Construction & Roofing

Furious would be the most appropriate word to describe how I feel about this company. We decided to go with RIG because of their stellar reviews. When the initial guy came out to give the estimate, I was convinced we made the right choice. He was the epitome of profesionalism, answered all of my questions, and left me feeling very confident about the choice we made. All of this, and my ceiling, came crashing down when I returned home today. The first thing I noticed was how torn up the yard was - tire tracks deeply embedded into the ground because they did not stay on the driveway; but these things happen. When I got out of my car I saw my australian tree fern was shoved into a bush. Apparently it was in their way so they just shoved it wherever it happened to land. When I got to my steps there was debris everywhere and a potted palm broken because when they blew or swept off the roof it was irrelevant to them what was below - no need to bother moving anything or placing a phone call to see if someone could come home. Saw dust covers the sink and counter on the porch. Taken individually these are small things and I could grind my teeth and bear it; at least the roof is succuessfully repair (only time will tell). However, when I walked into my bathroom, the ceiling had come crashing down. Apparently no one ever thought to be a bit ginger given that I had an active leak. No consideration for this was given whatsoever. I have no idea what crew they hired to send out or even if it was their own men, but I can tell you one thing, I would never in a million years recommend this company to anyone. My home is literally trashed inside and out. I must say I must have a black cloud over my head given that so many others have said such glorious things about RIG, but I can assure you that my experience with them has been anything but positive after the initial estimate. It's a nightmare! While the repair is hopefully sound, and I appreciate that, I expected so much better out of this company. It's heartbreaking.

Good communication with Josh, the sales rep. He provided two separate quotes, depending upon the outcome of our insurance claim. We had more difficulties with the claims adjuster and with other timing conflicts with the street repaving contracted by our HOA. Luckily, R.I.G. was able to complete the work prior to the end of April as we had requested. The crew that performed the work was very careful in covering our landscaping and did an excellent job cleaning up at the end of the job. The roof looks great, and it held up well during recent rainstorms.

Absolutely fantastic. They came right out after we called them. The quote was done basically overnight. Best of all -- and this is almost unheard of -- they were out to do the work a week and a half (roughly 10 days) after we signed. The job was done in 3 days. The gutters had to be custom-made -- James paid extra attention to the style of the house (see pictures) and understood that normal gutters just wouldn't cut it. All of his staff were professional and courteous. The work area was spotless once the job was completed (including multiple picking up of nails, screws, and other debris during each day of the job). From start to finish, we were treated with courtesy and respect and James was always focused on getting the job done right. At the end of the day, I couldn't be happier.

Unfortunately this company should be called "Excuses Inc.". I called Wednesday 4/26/2017 and spoke to Missy. I explained to Missy that so far other roofers say they will show up to give me a quote and no one ever does. I am looking for someone who will at least show up. She immediately said with laughter in her voice and confidence, "We are not like that, we guarantee we will show up". I felt relief and happy that I may have found a good company. So we were going to schedule for Friday afternoon but she expressed that the guys like to get out on time to start their weekends, so I said then lets make it tomorrow, Thursday, afternoon so that I do not feel rushed. (That was my first red flag excuse) My appointment was for 330pm and I was ready and waiting. At 345pm Josh from RIG called and apologized that he is running over on his previous appointment and will be there in 15 minutes. I was fine with this. At 415pm, 1/2 hour after his initial call (which he should have called before the 330pm appointment time to show good customer service), he shows up, looks up at the roof section I need done, advises they use some kind of high technology to survey the roof from sky pictures and will use that to give me a quote, handed me his card and said next week I will have the quotes and off he went. He was there maybe 5 minutes. NEVER did he go on the roof and give me any type of pricing, materials used, options, etc. RED FLAG 2. So I called and spoke with Missy and asked what happened? He was late and then did nothing. I expressed to her that I didn't want to go through this with another roofing company in hopes they will work a little harder to retain my business. She was so friendly and apologized for his behavior. Asked me to hold so she could reach out to Josh. She came back to me and said his last appointment wasn't supposed to go on as long as it did. He is supposed to spend at least an hour when doing a quote, going on the roof, etc. He needed to leave due to his own personal dilemma to make a doctors appointment before 5pm. RED FLAG 3. I was not happy and asked to speak to the owner. Missy seemed so upset with her own company and never once tried to "cover up" for their mistake. She said she will have the owner call me. Missy is too good to work for this place. She is genuinely kind caring and was not happy with how her team dropped the ball. James/Owner called and wasn't as friendly as Missy. I explained to him that I specifically told Missy about my previous roofing experiences and didn't want to wait around for another no-show. James apologized over and over but kept using EXCUSES that Josh was held over in a scheduling meeting from earlier expressing that this was his fault and then held over on the the last job he was on and of course, he had a doctor's appointment to get to. I asked him how this relates to me as I am trying to get a quote for my roof. Why not send someone else knowing he had all this on his plate. He just said I can only say sorry so many times and reschedule to come out. My thoughts are this is your company, you need to show how you are serious about customer service, jump in your truck and drive here now and do your job. Covering for your staff shows lack of leadership and the need for customers. The best and last excuse James advised was that Josh's printer in the car was not working and so he wouldn't have been able print a quote. Says that the machines can overheat due to weather conditions and they are expensive but needs new ones. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Well at the end he said he will have Missy call me Monday 5/1 to reschedule. You may have guessed it, THEY NEVER CALLED BACK. This company does not need the business and the owner/James has no care for his company. I found another local roofer who came out immediately, spent an hour looking at roof, going over many different options as well as they will work with you on every level from payments to what work needs to be done and will have a written one in a few days. He laughed when I told him about RIG and said that he gets a lot of calls from unhappy customers of RIG and has to go and fix their poor workmanship. I always say, the Universe has a plan. I feel bad that a company who looked promising is now getting a bad grade before even getting started. First impressions are the only one's that matter. Thank God I saw their true colors before a job got started and more excuses came down the line. Hope this helps those looking for a roofer. Good Luck.

Scheduling the estimate was easy and they were very professional. The roof looks great and we have no leaks. We are disappointed that the project has taken so long to complete, they do say they will come make repairs and don't show. We are still holding up final payment, but still don't get a response. This makes me concerned about any problems in the future.

I have been searching for 6 months for a decent honest roofer. All the prices quoted were about 10,000+. My insurance agent/friend recommended RIG CONSTRUCTION AND ROOFING . This company was the most honest, most reasonably priced and used great quality products. How do I know this? Because I did my research. He is also a certified pool person. So he took down my solar panels and put them back up for a fraction of what the original installers were going to charge me. I called 4 references and they had nothing but great things to say about the owner. I also went to better business and could not find anything bad about him. Would highly recommend his company to anyone.
