We hired Randall after checking reviews on Angie's List, Nextdoor and checking the BBB. There was nothing but praise for the work he had done for people. We came to an agreement on price and the work started fine. After a short time he started showing up less and less and the project drug out. We kept giving draws every time he asked for money until most of the work was paid for, though not complete. On July 27th Randall asked for another $1000, thank goodness it took a little while for my wife to get a break so she could write a check, when she took it down to him all of his tools, etc., were gone. He left the job unfinished (about 75% complete) and when we gave him notice of abandonment he replied by email to sue him but we wouldn't get much from a defunct company with no assets. The stucco was not finished, the door that was installed was not sealed around frame (open to the elements), electrical unfinished, water faucet not installed, screen pool cage frame and screen not replaced, holes in wall not repaired, balcony rail not complete, balusters not compliant or grouted, gutter not reattached, lights in pantry and under balcony not installed, trim around kitchen window not installed, French door hanging loose, hinge screws not tightened, and none of the painting has been completed. Then there is the damage to other items from not protecting them while work was performed such as stucco globs all over the poos deck, the pool deck drain is blocked by stucco and or concrete, pavers brick missing (don't know where that went, it was there when work started), stucco and grout left in the yard what was St. Augustine. I am sure there are things I missed, but this shows Mr. Anderson is not of the same character as he was at some point in the past.

Randall is an amazing craftsman and professional. My man loft turned out perfect. He designed a wet bar that accommodated a mini fridge and kegerator. He matched the finish of the cabinets to my pool table which was an awesome touch. Randall really shined with the library. It exceeded our expectations in every way imaginable. He installed an enormous bay window, build in a swinging bookcase to act as a secret door, hand built all of the bookcases, and help us with creating a perfect design. It was a long tedious process but we honestly couldn't be happier. The library turned our amazing and it is my wife's pride and joy now. Randall stayed on budget for the whole project.

Randall will be the only go to general contractor I will go to. He is professional, punctual and very keen to details. I had a wall remove to create a open space layout. He also had some electrical units added and shifted to other walls for my extra request. The ceiling blended flawlessly where the wall was removed with the rest of the area. Last minute request I asked him to add a tile to tile transition on the floor; knowing that he is a very busy contractor he is making time for me to have it completed. Randall actually gave me the idea of what to do with my floor. Visit his Facebook page and you can see all of his past work.

Randall is a very good listener and asked key questions to assure that the project was completed to our satisfaction. I requested "green" (non-toxic) building materials (per my specification) including dry wall, insulation, paint, varnish, and joint compound (all materials that are readily available). Randall used these materials to complete the project at no extra charge.

The transformation of our tv room by contractor Randall Anderson is nothing short of miraculous. The room, which apparently started life in our house as a 2-car garage, was dark and cluttered, and had too many doorways to make smart use of the living space for our family. (See the before and after; pictures.) Randall has created a beautiful space for a family to read or watch tv together. There's a corner office area, so someone can work while watching tv with the family, and there are additional bookshelves, which we desperately need! Best of all, Randall got rid of our ugly, crumbly, cobwebby stone wall-front of the gas fireplace. This "new" lovely fireplace, done in marble, is the centerpiece of our elegant re-done room. Due to new building codes, we can no longer use propane for the fireplace, so Randall also converted it to a wood-burning one. It was (in theory) a simple job. Just take down the stone fireplace and install marble instead. Board up an unwanted doorway and build additional bookshelves and cabinets. However, as with many older homes (our was 40+ years old), there were secrets behind the sheetrock: our fireplace insert was installed crooked! Randall had to go behind the fireplace, through the wall of the adjoining room, to re-position the insert so that it would be level. He and his crew walled up a laundry room doorway we never used, which gave us a corner to use as a work space. Randall and his carpenters built cabinets to hold our board games, and bookshelves for our books. They painted the room. Randall also had great insights for improving our plan for the room, small enhancements that would make everything look nicer. For example, he suggested rounding the edges of the hearth marble so the tile edges would not be sharp, and rounding off the tiles around the edge of the fireplace for a smooth, finished look. (see photo) He also suggested changing the shape of the hearth, which made it more attractive and less angular. (see photo) He suggested placing the electric outlets at the base of the bookshelves so that we didn't have extension cords dropping down over our books. Randall made sure everything (furniture, carpet) was covered (see the rock slide photo) while they worked in the room. They cleaned up each day. His guys were ready to go first thing every morning. He ordered and picked up the marble tile we wanted. He took care of our property as if it were his own. We've never worked with anyone quite as responsible, thorough, and careful as Randall. He's a pleasure to deal with, and he's the professional we want for all our projects.

This is the awesome contractor everyone wants. You will not find his equal anywhere in Central Florida. When we first called Randall, he was up front that he wouldn't be able to get to us for a couple months due to his current commitments. But when those commitments were over, he called back.We loved that he doesn't hurry through someone's project just to get to the next one. It was worth the wait. Randall Anderson is skilled and visionary, tactful and careful, talented and thoughtful. He's hired good people to work for him. He communicates clearly and regularly, so you're never guessing about what's going on, what it will cost, or when his people will be on the job. We've owned a number of houses, had work done on every one of them, and Randall is the hardest-working contractor we have ever known. He's the most reliable contractor we have ever known. Best of all, he's the most competent contractor we have ever known. We love that his guys show up on time, ready to go. Everything flows from the top down, and so the attention, respect, and care that Randall gives us, our stuff, and our project is also reflected by his workers. They are prompt, pleasant, and polite. Randall's General Construction has transformed our old, ugly house into a beautiful showcase. We'd rather have a new kitchen, but our 40+ year old house had been in a state of extreme deferred maintenance with rotting siding, thin single-pane, drafty old windows, and overall out-of-date ugliness. Randall did a complete renovation of the exterior of our home. Lovely new cedar siding, new chimney, new mailbox, and new windows. (During a cold spell, our visiting adult kids told us they were glad to finally sleep in comfortable rooms with weather-tight windows. ) See the pictures (if I can figure out how to upload them) for some of the actual work done for us. Everything was immeasurably nicer than we expected. It's great to sense that this business owner is a genuine, fully-invested partner in our project. Randall really listened to us and made sure every concern was addressed. His work was executed with skill, precision, and utmost care. Too much to detail here in a short review. So - if Randall can't get to you right away, it's probably because he's working on my kitchen! ;) Be patient, and get on his schedule, even if you have to wait a few months like I did. You will be so glad you did.

Randall is courteous prompt and honest.  He performed all work in the length of time quoted and the results were of the highest quality.  He also coordinated other trades on my behalf (namely: an complete roof replacement).  Randall is capable of everything from typical simple home repairs to entire rebuilds and construction projects from scratch.  I strongly recommend his services for anyone looking for this type of work in the Orlando area.

I highly recommend Randall's General Construction for any project you are considering for your home. I got several quotes for my project, as I always do , and I found his pricing to be fair and reasonable and the quality of his work to be exceptional.
I initially hired Randall to replace two sets of french doors and to do some repair on the door frames, which were rotting. After that was complete, I immediately hired him for several other projects, given the quality of his work and attention to detail. I felt that he approached each of my projects as though he was working on his own home.
Randall was the utmost professional. Always on time, made helpful suggestions and cleaned up after each work session. During the time he was working at my home, we were experiencing particularly heavy periods of rain. Randall would come to my house and sometimes within the hour, he would get rained out. This happened at least 5 or 6 times!! I felt terrible for him because he had to unload all his construction tools and then pack them back up again! If he was frustrated, he never showed that to me. Each time, he would pack up without complaint and would try again as soon as the weather permitted. He also made sure my home was completely protected from the elements, as he was midway through the project and without adequate protection, my home would have been negatively impacted by the rain. Everything he did held up great, without incident.
I found Randall to be honest, reliable and I would absolutely hire him again in the future. In fact, I've been considering some other projects for my home and I will not bother to get multiple quotes in the future. I will call Randall, knowing it will be done right and for a fair price. Plus, he's just a pleasant and nice person to work with!
Thank you Randall for the great work you did on my home. It is very much appreciated!!

Randall is honest, reliable, knowledgable and easy to work with. We have worked with him so often that when he shows up it feels like family is visiting. Unfortunately,it took us a long time to get on Angie's List and sing his praises. However, we can tell you ow that he does a great job and you can relax once he takes on your project.

A large decorative column on the front of our home collapsed due to wood rot that had occurred over many, many years through a small leak in the stucco above the column. Randall arrived on time, gave an honest estimate and discussed possible problems and overages based on damage that might not be visible before the tear down. He did find some additional damage and repaired that as well. The total cost was a little more than the original estimate, but very reasonable considering the amount of work involved. You can not tell that the column was replaced. The work was done quickly and professionally. He also repaired our leaning mailbox without us asking and a no additional charge. Randall communicated with us along the way and we felt confident from the moment we met him that it would be done right. We highly recommend him for any work.

It went amazing! Randall and his team were great. They not only explained what they were going to do in good detail, but executed the plan. The plan was install a brand new window and replaced an existing window. To add the new window, Randall did amazing masonry to remove and build the frame with the existing block wall. Then framed out the window and installed it. For the existing window, he removed the old window and re-framed the opening for the replacement window.
Randall says he wants to be your contractor for life. He means it and shows it with his work.
Thank you Randall!

Randall has been AMAZING- this experience has, by far, exceeded all of our expectations. We also live in the Historic district downtown, and have been working on our house renovation in stages over the past 4 years. Randall has done the best work compared to all the various vendors we have used- He has done everything he said he would, communicated it clearly in writing, followed up all our our questions promptly completing all of the work himself with the help of his sons. He is a true craftsman, thoughtfully approaching each problem that only an old house can dish out. He worked thoughtfully and slowly in this horrible heat and rain. Randall will be the only contractor we will ever use in the future, and we have much more work that needs to be done.

When we bought this 1926 Mediterranean Revival home in the Lake Eola Heights historic district of Orlando in 2012, we were aware of some possible water issues with the front corner of the house.

We initially hired Randall to convert a carport under the guest apartment in back into a garage and to screen in the porch in the back of the main house. He soon helped us discover the extent of what turned out to be major structural damage in the front of the house. Over the next 18 months, Randall, his son Eric, and their crews worked diligently to rebuild the house into what is now a beautiful, solid home in a wonderful downtown neighborhood. He shored up the foundation, rebuilt the dining room, master bedroom tower and second-floor sun-porch off of the master bedroom, finished the garage and the screened in the porch, all to our satisfaction. Toward the end of the project, Randall also refurbished and reinstalled a French-door style balcony window off of the second-floor back bedroom.

We salvaged the original windows from the dining room and master bedroom tower during the demolition. After refurbishing them, Randall reinstalled the original windows into the newly build structures for a nice blend of old and new.

This renovation was expensive, but we believe it was absolutely necessary in order to save a wonderful home in one of Orlando's beautiful historic districts. We are grateful to have had Randall there as an honest and hardworking contractor to help us through every step. We would highly recommend him for your general contracting needs.

Respectfully,

First off, before I get into the laundry list of things that needed work on at my
property, I just wanted to say a word or two about Randall and his son Eric (I
think that was his name - apologies if I got that wrong). In today's modern
world where everyone is trying to make a buck and promising you the world, it's
often the case that as a consumer, you end up getting a mismatch in
"expectations" and "resulting work"... but in the area of
contracting and home repair, I think that this is felt even more acutely by
people, simply because gauging the VALUE of work performed is so subjective in
many home renovation/repair jobs. For instance, some people might think a
bathroom remodel looks GREAT while other might think that same job looks OKAY.
Art becomes function and vice versa when it comes to our homes, and it's only
fair to bring this dynamic out into the light before I pass my judgement on
Randall and his son. So here it is...
These guys are amazing.
The truth is,
that even in light of this very subjective ‘grading system’ we all use in our
heads to gauge the work our contractors do on our homes, Randall and his son
area cut above. While I hear other people compliment their contractors, saying
things like, “They didn’t disappoint.” …OR… “We got a great value for the
money.” … I feel really blessed with the work THESE GUYS did because I don’t
need to couch my compliments in ANY way,… not even in the subtlest of
equivocations. Randall and Eric do superb, high-quality work on a caliber that
far surpasses the price point they charge for it. There’s a LOT to say about
how they do what they both technically and socially (how they handle me as a
customer)… In fact, I could probably fill a couple of pages on how reliable
their work ethic is, and how - when they say they're going to be somewhere with
something at a certain time, they do it. I could also probably gush for a few
sentences about how knowledgeable they are about virtually every facet of the
work they perform, and what great communicators they are about each stage of
work,... which brings the uneducated folks (like myself) into 'the know' a
little bit on these projects, so that I can feel comfortable with what's going
on, especially when I see walls cut open, and piles of broken tiles and cement
being deposited into neat little piles on a tarp. I could even go and on about
how quickly they get the promised work done, or heap accolades on their
budgeting acumen (they came in UNDER budget for the job - which is a FIRST for
me! LOL)... but I'm not going to do any of that.
Nope.
You see, all
of that is great - and truly, I appreciate their work. And of course (without a
second thought) I recommend Randall to EVERYONE I know. But it isn't because of
ANY of those things listed above. Do you know why I would hire Randall again?
I'll tell you. One word.
Trust.
You see, there
are tons of great workers out there, and lots of service providers in Orlando
who I'm sure can do a competent job renovating a bathroom, or fixing the
leaking AC condenser pipe plumbing, or installing a new platform to elevate a
water heater... I mean, let's face it - there are some talented guys out there
right? But... the reason I'll ALWAYS hire Randall is because he's the one
person who I would never think twice about:
- giving him
a blank check for materials
- leaving him
and his son alone in my home all day long
- believing
when he tells me he's found something unusual or unforeseen in the structure of
my house (and then presents it to me in a way I can understand)
- totally
giving him creative and purchasing control in a project, and not worrying if I
am getting the BEST price
- asking him
what certain items or materials cost

...and let me
tell you folks,... if you CAN'T say all of these things about the contractor
you hire to come into your home and work on your project, and be around your
family and valuable possessions all day long, day in and day out… then I would
earnestly (and humbly) suggest to you that maybe you haven't hired the right person,
and maybe you should give Randall a call.
The fact of
the matter is that I’ve never met anyone like Randall in his field, who has
made me feel as comfortable with paying for contracting work as he has. And I’ve
never really felt truly GOOD about ANY contracting job I’ve commissioned from
someone in the past,… the way I felt about his work, looking over my newly
renovated shower when he had finished. And really, if I’m going to be 100%
honest with myself, I’ve never become good friends with my contractor (like I
did with him) and actually feel engaged and WANTED in the planning, building
and repair process before.
All of these
reasons are great reasons to hire Randall and Eric, and I wish them nothing but
the best in their future endeavours as I am quite sure they’ve earned it. I
will ONLY hire Randall Anderson to come lay a hammer on my house, and if you’re
looking for a good contractor or maybe on the fence with your current one, I’d
urge you to do the same. You WON’T be disappointed and you WILL be impressed…
there is doubt in my mind.
