We had a new well pump installed 3 years ago by another company, and ever since we have been hearing the pump go off from every room in the house. The original installer came out twice to check it, but he said it is "normal" to hear the pump in the house, even though we had never heard anything before the new one was installed. Because the noise was becoming louder and more intrusive, we called Jim for a second opinion. He initially agreed that it is normal for well pumps to make noise, but he diligently examined all the piping and electrical and determined that it was a combination of the capacitor and its attachment to the housing. He switched us to a 2-stage capacitor, which helped 50%, and then attached it to a separate post, which miraculously resolved the issue completely! We highly recommend J & L Pump Repair, and we will most definitely use Jim for any future needs!

I reached out to J&L first thing in the morning after my well pump stopped working. He was able to come out within a few hours and quickly diagnosed my problem as a problem in the electric breaker that I had tripped the night before. I had him perform some other maintenance while he was there. Responsive, honest and reliable. I would hire again.

Jim from J&L was at my house within two hours of my call. Found that the pump had a faulty pressure switch, control box and pressure gauge. I bought the house with the well already installed and was not familiar with how they operate. Jim took the time to educate me and show me what was wrong. He had all of the parts on his truck and was able to get me up and running in about an hour and a half. Really nice guy and I feel his price was quite reasonable for the work performed.

Jim took my call personally.  He set a time to come over and evaluate our system.  He was prompt and my wife noted him to be nice.  Looked at our system, and repaired some corroded wiring to our pump, and got it working again.
He explained we will likely need either a new control box or new pump (or both).
I feel the price was quite fair. We will use him again when the time comes!

Jim knows a lot about the well pumps, explains the customer what & why he is doing during the pump repair.
He repaired/adjusted the pump yesterday so now I have to see how long the repair lasts & will update.

"Hi [Member name removed], Thank you for the great review, and please call us any time if you have any questions regarding your water well system. I was a little confused regarding the cost because I only see the one invoice for $125.00 and don't see anything for the $59.00 charge. Does that charge maybe belong to the Sprinkler repair man? Again thank you so much for the kind review, Sincerely, Lorraine Allen J & L Pump Repair"

Have used J & L Pump Repair for many years; Woke up Sat. morning had no water, we have well water. I tried the reset  switch & breaker, nothing worked. Called  James around 8:00 am, he was here before 9:30 had the pump up and running before 10:30.Wonderful person and does explain things to you. He had to replace the start relay and run the capacitor. Have always had good service  from him and always show up when he said he would be here.

Pressure switch, water gauge & starter capacitor replacement. Then blew out about 10 gallons of well water out of the well head with a portable generator where pressurized air should only have been. In & out in about an hour. Total with parts, labor & service call first late on Friday night and answered the next day (on a Saturday?)? $165 out the door. Excellent work.

Water stopped in our home.  We have well water.  Checked breakers and reset switch for the pump, but this did not fix it.
I called J&L, and even though it was less than 30 minutes to sundown, they came out immediately.
Quickly diagnosed the problem -- a dead lizard got into the switch for the pump and was stuck there, and the switch itself was damaged. This prevented the switch from working, thus no water.
He replaced the switch (he had one with him) and re-secured the housing to prevent other creatures from getting in.
He also checked out the other equipment and gave us advice on how to maintain it.
Our problem was fixed in less than 90 minutes from the time I called. I couldn't be happier.
We were only charged for the switch. I didn't look up or compare pricing, but based on the quick response, quality of service, and advice we received, I think it was a heck of a bargain.

After we agreed on the work to be done, John set about doing the repairs.  I sat and talked with him as he worked and he showed  me what he was doing and explained why he was doing it, as well as some of the reasons the equipment might have failed in the first place.  He was very professional, friendly and easy to talk to.
After finding his company listed on Angie's List, I had contacted him and explained to him that I had no water. He arrived here right on time and set to work immediately. I was both pleased and relieved he had arrived on time.
As soon as he was able to rule out the expensive alternative of replacing my pump, he told me so. I was very much relieved to hear that!
He completed the repairs in a timely manner and presented me for a bill for $280.00 when the work was complete and everything was running normally again. Considering the scope of the repairs and the friendly manner in which John conducted his business, I was satisfied with the cost. He was competitive with other companies that had made repairs to the well in the past, but much more professional, easy to communicate with and arrived when he said he would.
I will definitely call on John at J & L Pump Repair to handle all issues with my well and pump in the future.

Called Jim (407-347-6958 is current phone number) at 7:00 am this morning. Left a message that the pump at our hobby farm had stopped running, that I suspected a pump failure because both the pressure switch and control box were new, and that we were going abroad in 2 days and needed to get the pump working before leaving. Jim called back a half hour later, said that he had to pick up some parts, but that he could look at the pump before noon. He called back a little after 10 and we arranged to meet at the property.
On arrival, turned the electric on at the breaker and Jim reset the control box. Pump started and ran, but Jim didn't like the sound of the pump. Electrical diagnosis revealed problems down hole. Jim quoted me a price, said he had a 1.5 hp pump on his truck, and that he could pull it right away if I wanted.
I agreed. He backed his truck up to the well head, raised the boom, and went to work. Jim pulled and disconnected each section of pipe in an efficient, methodical, and practiced manner. Once the pump was out, he checked the name plate to confirm the 1.5 hp rating and 1985 pump manufacture date, measured the depth to water level and far enough below to ensure that he could add another pipe to the string so as to locate the new pump more than 20 feet below water level. He then connected new wire to the pump and began lowering the seven sections of pipe back into the well. He kept the electric line taut, taped it to the pipe both above and below each collar and at least once in the middle of each pipe section. Once everything was installed, he connected the electric, turned on, and tested the pump. When clear water was again being pumped, and everything was satisfactory, he finalized the installation and double checked that all parameters were OK and would not cause the new pump to fail prematurely.
Jim cleaned up, prepared the warranty paperwork, took my credit card payment, and left about 2 pm. I could not have asked for more responsive or better service and workmanship. Professionalism at its finest.

We just got back from a 2 week trip to Alaska to find that our water was not running. I called J&L and spoke with Jim. He was very polite and told me he would head right over. Less than an hour later he was at my front door! He diagnosed the problem and fixed some other issues that he noticed. Was very professional and thorough. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Again, always pleased with the service and prices charged. They've even walked me through how to adjust something on the well over the phone rather than come out and charge me for a service call.
