I called Welch Creative Lighting back based on my experience a year ago when they installed landscape lighting at my residence. They were A+ all the way, so I didn't hesitate to use them again to replace some older flourescent fixtures in my garages. But a lot of water goes under the bridge in a year and this firm went from what I considered to be a top-notich professional, yet caring firm to the pits! It was several days after my call that their electrician came to look at the garages with 6 covered flourescent fixtures. I explained that I wanted updated fixtures that give out more light but in quality appropriate to the house. There were 3 fixtures in each garage: one was to have 4 bulbs, the other 2 were to have 2 bulbs in each. He assured that he knew what we wanted and would send photos via cellphone. He disappeared for over 3 hours and we finally called to find where he was. He could not send photos, but assured us that he knew what we wanted. First mistake was that I approved the amount for the fixtures before I saw them. When he finally arrived, he had "shop" fixtures and by that I mean merely two exposed flourescent bulbs (no covers). After 8 hours of dithering, he said he would be back first thing in the morning two days later as he had to take two broken fixtures back for new ones. Two days later, he does not show up first thing in the morning, but at 3:30 pm on a Friday afternoon. Took him less than an hour to put in the last two fixtures. All in all, it took two days of my time sitting around waiting on this guy and the fixtures are pathetic. My old ones were much nicer. It was my fault for not buying the fixtures myself and letting someone install them, but we had such good luck when Welch installed the landscape lighting and really couldn't have been more pleased with their responsiveness at that time. I would not recommend them. Buy the fixtures yourself and hire an electrical firm with a good reputation and multiple electricians so you don't have to sit around and wait. Any good firm in town would have done this same work in far less time and for less money.
