Lost the interior of my house to a fire in January 2021, Regency DRT seemed very prompt and eager to begin on my house. They would not give me an exact date when the job would be done, but said it shouldn't take longer than 6-8 months. the first few months it seemed to move along quickly, then it came to a very very slow crawl, that's when the excuses started coming. Covid was the first. We where told that it was hard to find workers, supplies, equipment, etc. That was almost understandable in the beginning. 2 years later the excuses are still coming. Inspections, workers, supplies, we have heard them all. 2 years later and the drywall hasn't even been installed yet. I am getting threatening lien letters from contractors because Regency DRT isn't paying them. I'm at a loss at what I should do next. My family is at a hardship now, not only am I having to pay a mortgage for a house that I cannot live in, I'm also paying rent for an apartment so I have some where to live. The mortgage company can no longer provide assistance because it has been so long. We are struggling to survive financially. Inexcusable!

Horrible, Horrible, Company. Was on the Job for 2 years 3 mos. Never finished the work. Made multiple promises and did not keep them. So many things were left not finished. The house is still not complete. We would go literally 3 to 4 mos without a phone call sometimes. We had to hire an outside appraisal company to come in and give an accurate assessment of damage after regency said they were Finished. The kitchen was deemed to be redone, hired a different contractor to remodel the kitchen, got it completed, then got the check from the insurance company for the kitchen. Paid for the work with the new Contractor then regency had the audacity to demand the payment for the kitchen remodel which they did not even do. In my opinion this company should not be allowed to even be able to do business. Do not believe any of the positive reviews. Call me anytime if you want to talk about all the details of how horrible this company is. (Seven seven two, Nine eight five, Five six six one. Pastor Jason

Went with DKI because (at 120 mi away) they were the closest of the two companies recommended by the insurer. It wasn't until after initial deposits were paid that I found out the project manager was a new hire and we were his first job. With a 240 mi round trip, he could only show up for a few hours once or twice per week. Although he was somewhat knowledgeable in reconstruction, he had a hard time getting his boss to sign-off on the stuff he promised me. Their pack-out team (mostly 18 to 20 year-olds) seemed to have a lead but no manager. The entire contents of the house had to be emptied, but they had only arranged for one storage pod to be placed in the driveway. At my insistence, they had a 2nd one placed 3 days later and my wife and I moved into a nearby motel for 30 days. The pack-out team (DKI employees) were diligent in inventorying, wrapping, and boxing the household belongings, however they had no common sense or direction when loading-up the storage pods. They had both storage pods filled-up with boxes of lightweight items (including lampshades, paintings, video tapes and air), while all the large heavyweight stuff (beds, dressers, weight bench, tables) remained in the house. I told the lead "You've got it backwards. All the heavy and bulky stuff goes in the pods first. Then if it won't all fit, we stack some boxes of lightweight stuff in the center of each room in the house, and we can easily move those around during the drywall, painting and carpeting work." I made them unload and re-load the storage pods. It's a good thing that I was unemployed at the time, so I was able to to be at the house every day and whenever any workers were there. Most of the time it seemed that I was the project manager, as I directed the mold guys, the drywall and cabinet guys, the painters, and the carpet installer, etc. I had to re-do their measurements for the kitchen cabinets and even submitted my own drawings to insure that each cabinet ordered was the proper size and shape to fit our kitchen. The project manager thought he could do this by phone from 120 mi away, but kitchen cabinets are too detailed for that. The painting subcontractors used minimal primer and tried to get away with only one coat on everything, but I had to call their boss and DKI to make them come back and do another coat. DKI also sent-up a "jack-of-all-trades" guy who did a concete block and stucco repair on the exterior and smaller drywall, taping, joint compound and finish-up work on the interior. In the end, all of the work was completed somewhat satisfactorily, but I felt that I had expended at least $5,000 worth of my own labor on the project. If I had not been there everyday double-checking appraisals and contracts, managing the work being done (and inspecting the work), and getting deficient work corrected or re-done, and making countless calls to DKI (and even to their subcontractors), this project would have taken more than twice as long and would have never been successfully completed!

They took way too long to do what they were supposed to do. They did not show up on time when they said they were coming. They would tell me one thing in the morning and then tell me something different in the afternoon as they were leaving. They stayed all morning to “clean furniture of mold” then left at noon without doing anything and said there was too much to clean in the room and they wanted to move everything out of the room before the hygienist came to test for mold They left after I told them absolutely not! I called the company at this point and fired them.

If Regency DRT said they completed work they are LYING. They were contacted by the insurance company to evaluate and estimate. As the homeowner I am told that we are not privy to any testing results or reports, nor any estimates for remediation. Regency DRT and the Insurance company FED NAT has refused to furnished that information to us.

Fire, smoke, water damage mitigation. Site crew was from temp service and supervised by unqualified company personnel. Job took about 60% longer than it should have. Site crew was seen sleeping in front yard numerous times by neighbors. They did not clean, treat and protect items that could have been saved and directed to by the insurance adjuster in a timely manner resulting in over $20,000 additional damages to the house, Including 13 windows, 2 marble floors, and a marble shower. They did pay $10K for the damaged flooring with insurance company covering the rest. Final completion took more than a week. Had to continually point out and send photos of items missed even with one of there head personnel over seeing the final clean up and damage control of there negligence.

Rebuilding a wall; rebuilding kitchen. The wall went up fine. The following kitchen rebuilding was shamefully, pathetically, painfully, erroneously, time overrun completed with the project supervisor ignorant of basic kitchen construction; making necessary to uninstall or repair much work that should have been completed. Almost every installation had to be redone. Time and expense were not spared. the kitchen did not fulfill the potential of purpose as the kitchen it replaced. The senior supervisors were lame in their oversight. I have never experienced worse workmanship, seeming lack experience by work done, in my experience..
