I trusted J&G Carpentry because they were associated with Home Depot. Bad move on my part. And that's the reason for my review. I do not normally put reviews online, but I felt compelled to alert others seeking professional help with a home project or installation. Do not trust these guys! Long story, short: They sent a J&G employee 'Ryan' to measure for the project in advance and charged $325 extra because 'It was a two-man job that required six hours' to install. They finished the project in 1 hour, 45 minutes. I trusted that it would take the time and require the man power they quoted me for, so I paid in advance. I trusted their expertise. That was my mistake. When they finished in under two hours (even though I was led to believe the project would take six), we inquired about it before they left our house. They pointed the finger at Home Depot, and naturally, Home Depot pointed the finger right back at them. Meanwhile, my multiple attempts to get a rebate or refund from either party fell on deaf ears. I just don't want this happen to anyone else! J&G swindled money from us and Home Depot is exactly innocent here, either.

They were the best carpentry company I've ever used. They were so professional, I would recommend them to everybody. They are the best.

The guy was late, he told me he would be here between 2 and 4, and he got here about 4:45, but besides that, this was actually approved by the city building department on the 17th and the job was done yesterday, so he gets an F.

I am not at all pleased. The door was purchased 5/24/2016. According to Home Depot the permit was approved 6/30/2016. Then my troubles started. Kevin an installer with J&G called me to schedule the install the problem with this was that the installation was not scheduled until 8/16/2016 which was more than a month away from this phone call. Kevin said that was the earliest appointment that he had. I called Home Depot to try for an earlier appt. and ask why HD would use a company for installation that cannot complete the installs in a reasonable amount of time. Toby from HD replied HD uses that company for all South FL. Toby stated that she would call J&G office and have someone call me to see about speeding up the process. I then received a call from either John or Rich I am not sure which one I spoke with. The gentleman was exceptionally friendly and jovial during our conversation. He assured me that my door would be installed next week, which is now almost over. He reiterated that I would not have to wait until Aug 16th it would be done "THIS week". I will update post accordingly.

I REMODELED MY KITCHEN AND BATHROOMS BACK IN JUNE AND I
COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED. MY KITCHEN HAS SO MUCH MORE USABLE SPACE WITH ALL
THE RIGHT COLORS THAT BLEND TOGETHER AND MY BATHROOMS CAME OUT JUST THE WAY I
WANTED THEM. J&G TOOK THE TIME TO MAKE SURE THAT MY CABINETS AND ALL OF THE
CUSTOM WORK WOULD FIT SO THAT I WOULD?T RUN INTO PROBLEMS DURING THE
RENOVATION. AND JOHN, THE OWNER EVEN CAME OUT HIMSELF. THE WORKERS WERE ALL
TIMELY AND PROFESSIONAL. THERE WERE A FEW HICCUPS HERE AND THERE BUT YOU CAN
EXPECT THAT IN CONSTRUCTION. J&G HANDLED THEM AND GOT THINGS ROLLING AGAIN
LIKE WE DIDN?T MISS A STEP. THE OFFICE GIRLS, ANGELA AND KAREN PULLED
EVERYTHING TOGETHER AND WERE THERE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTION I HAD AND I HAD A LOT
OF QUESTIONS. IN A WHOLE J&G HAS MADE REMODELING MY HOME (WHICH IF YOU HAVE
EVER DONE IS NOT A PLEASURABLE PROCESS) VERY TOLERABLE AND THE FINISHED PRODUCT
WAS BEAUTIFUL. I WOULD RECOMMEND USING J&G FOR ANY OF YOUR REMODELING
NEEDS.

I fired them for all the stress aggravation and unfinished work
They took 500 dollars of my money for what they didn't do
Left all old building materials outside
Too lazy to bring them to the curb for trash pickup
Horrible don't use them unless you want major stress and aggravation
They are on the wile a very rude bunch

Worked very sporadic. Suddenly a stop, without notification. The stop could be for a few weeks. The soffit came out all crooked. Needed to add 0.5 inch of filler to straighten out the worst. Since they used so much filler it cracked. Finally they got the cracks filled up. But for how long. This took them several days to have it corrected, instead of doing it right the first time, but that would take a professional carpenter. Now, 5 months after they received OUR payment in full, the job is NOT COMPLETED.

It was okay. They did a good job. It was an excellent work. The people were very good and very nice. My wife thought it was reasonable.

I just love J and G Carpentry and I am so glad that I had them do my work. They did such a great job and everything looks wonderful. I also appreciated that they handled all of the permits. Even the City Inspector of Deerfield thinks their awesome. I plan on using them again to install windows.

Very smoothly! No issues!

John came out and measured the bathroom and gave me a great price. He instructed me on sizes of things to purchase myself, saving me lots of money, and ordered the cabinets for me. I got to go to shop around for tile and the granite for my counter top at places he recommended and purchase those also on my own. Once I was ready to have them come in, they came and gutted and cleaned after themselves every time they came. All went very smoothly and I'm still amazed when I look at it, just how beautiful it is. John has done work for us for many many years and we could never imagine giving anybody else our business. The office girls are the bomb as well.

Measured 3 times and still didnt get it right. Very un friendly and ubprofessional. Connected to home depot in ft lauderdale. Ther install price was 3 times other cab companies. Cabinets didnt fit due to their measure

Jeremy was very good. He didn't stand around and talk, was very efficient. He knew what he was doing and what he had to do. I couldn't give him a better recommendation.

He was very efficient and confident. You felt that he knew exactly what he was talking about. He did a beautiful job.

I had no problems with the country. I actually thought they were really very good. I need to pay them off and I haven't because I was told not to until I received notification from the company. They were very understanding in why I took so long to pay them off. The man that installed the windows made a scratch on my frame and I have yet to hear from him but that wasn't the companies fault because they subcontracted.

Generally very smoothly. There were a couple of scratches (2) and I wished they had pointed out some blemishes when installing the cabinets that I could have brought to the attention of Home Depot. I was satisfied with their work.

We were referred to Jand G Carpentry by a company that sells the brand of sliding door that we have. After meeting with Robert Remek from this company he seemed very experienced and knowledgeable and familiar with our type of sliding doors. We were very nervous because we needed the door person to work with the concrete contractor to get the opening the right size and who was reliable so that we would have our sliding doors out as little time as possible. We had to order a new door track since it was unlikely the old one could be removed without damage. Robert referred us to a salesperson he works with regularly and told him what to order and then we just had to pay for it. When the order came in he even went to the store to pick it up and make sure everything was okay. My husband said he would remove the sliding doors but Robert said he would do it to minimize damage to the doors and opening. Once he removed the doors and the filler piece on top of the doors he said there was another piece of wood on top that he could remove to raise our doors even higher. This was more work for him but it really helped to get the doors as close to the new living room height as possible. While he was still there the concrete contractor came over so they could talk to make sure that the new concrete curb would allow the right opening size for the sliding doors. That afternoon the concrete contractor poured the curb with a quick-drying concrete and the next morning Robert returned and put in the new track and reinstalled the doors. The doors work better than they ever did and you really can't tell that they weren't always this height. I really appreciated that Robert was willing to work with another company to make sure the job was done right. We have an old house and this was an unusual job where there could have been a lot of problems but Robert made it seem simple. It's a pleasure to hire someone who knows what they are doing and is reliable.
