"First to address this clients review- the painting of his house I recommended the painters and i told the client that he would be dealing directly with them. The reason for this was that i was not marking up their labor to make a profit so dainel the client hired them not me i only made the contact so any issues he had with them is not a reflection of my work and work ethics. Second about honesty . When [Member Name Removed] the client explained to me what he wanted done i gave him a price based on what he wanted to spend. I specifically told him and recommended that he replace his entire step runners and treads he said just price to change 4 or five of the step boards . This was also what he said about the deck floor boards price to change 4 rotted ones When i started the job i stopped and called him because there was excessive wood decay. He still did not want to replace the step but oked changing all the step boards ( this was triple the work on the steps. The deck i recommended changing all floor boards for safety and esthetics. He asked me how much more it would cost abd i told him materials would be $400 more and that labor would be a little more. “ ok i will check with my wife” a few minutes later he said go for it. Instead of changing 4-5 16ft lengths of deck board we redid the entire flooring of the deck (20 boards) when we were done i went over the completed job with him. He was totally satisfied saying wow it looks good that aa really changed a lot of the cedar siding . At that point i told him that i did not like the step work but that i made it safe and that there was no way to make it better since he did not want to replace the step like I recommended. He said that was what he wanted. At that point he said he would Venmo us the money and i told him we needed $400 more for the labor for the deck- i did not charge him for the extra work the stairs . He was not happy with that but paid us he failed to remember when i said that there would be an extra labor charge . The only part of the job i did not do was repair the garage door. I did not charge him because i had not done it yet ($300) i however made arrangements with the painter to patch the garage door which the painter did - and did it the way i explained to [Member Name Removed] that it would have been done. Three weeks later after contacting the painters to ensure he had repaired it i texted [Member Name Removed] for payment of the $300 and that started this entire dialogue. Bottom line is he never paid for fir the garage door repair and instead of texting back and forth i told him forget it and to have a great Christmas. Then the bad reviews. Check my reviews!!
