We've learned several things about this builder in the few months we've lived in this home. 1) While our home inspector rated the construction as solid, much of the interior work is fair at best. We've come to realize since we moved in that drywall seams show everywhere and drywall mud was left slopped on in various areas. The "upgraded Berber" carpet installation was horrendous; the seam in the master bedroom lasted about 2-3 rounds with the vacuum. There were several other problems as well. So, the contractor allowed the subs to do shoddy work. 2) It is impossible to get in touch with the company even though they are still in business. The phone system has no voicemail and no one picks up. The email address is invalid. 3) We just received an overdue bill from a sub for $2,600.
Description of Work: We purchased a home recently that was constructed by Bayshore Construction. The couple who had the house built moved out of state prior to completion of the home and we purchased it from them and were the only occupants. We've had a home built before and are aware of the "issues" associated with this process, e.g., making sure that the contractor supervises the subs properly, getting the contractor to fix problem after the fact. However, even with this past experience in mind, we have found several reasons to be displeased with this builder. The interior construction is mediocre at best. They also do not appear to pay their bills from their subs. And, we have no means of contacting them. They have closed up shop in the West Palm Beach area (supposedly moving up the coast to less developed areas) and have only a phone number to call with no answering machine. Their email address also is invalid.
