I went to browse at their annual sale of clearance and floor sample merchandise.  The prices and selection were quite good, so good I ended up buying returning twice more.  When I asked for the best price on certain pieces already discounted, the staff was able to discount another 10 percent. Delivery was $149, and included purchases I made on different dates.  I was pleased with the shopping and delivery experiences and love the furniture I bought.

PURCHASED A CONDO FULL OF FURNITURE.  THE DESIGNER CAME OUT TO THE CONDO AND MEASURED AND PRESENTED SUGGESTIONS. ONE RECOMMENDATION WAS THE SOFA, A $2900 SPECIAL ORDER. SHE AGREED TO PERSONALLY HANDLE THE DELIVERY AND SETUP IN THE UNIT AS WE LIVE IN PITTSBURGH MOST OF THE YEAR AND WOULD NOT BE THERE FOR DELIVERY  .WHEN THE SOFA CAME IN, 8 WEEKS LATER, THEY TRIED TO DELIVER IT TWICE BUT IT WOULD NOT FIT THROUGH THE DOOR OF THE CONDO. I ASKED WHAT THE RESOLUTION WOULD BE AND SUGGESTED WE WOULD ACCEPT ANOTHER SOFA IF THERE WAS ONE IN STOCK THAT WOULD FIT THE BILL AND BE ACCEPTABLE. THEY HAD NO RESPONSE. WE ASSUMED THEY WOULD REFUND THE $3000 FOR THE SOFA AS WE AGREED WE WOULD PURCHASE ONE ELSEWHERE THAT WAS IN STOCK AND COULD BE DELIVERED QUICKLY.   AFTER WE ORDERED THAT ONE FROM MACYS, WE RECEIVED A CALL FROM BAERS THEY WOULD ONLY REFUND 75% OF THE COST OF THE SOFA AS IT WAS A SPECIAL ORDER WITH A POLICY OF NO REFUNDS! THEY WANTED A 25% RESTOCKING FEE! I WAS STUNNED.  I AM PURSUING THE BALANCE WITH CITIBANK, THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY.                                                                                                 BEWARE OF BAERS FURNITURE.   PS; NO CALL FROM THE DESIGNER, LORI TOBASCO..............THE STORE MANAGER IS ROBERT BERKWITS. INITIALLY HE AGREED TO A FULL REFUND THEN CHANGED HIS TUNE TO ONLY 75% A FEW DAYS LATER, AFTER THE REPLACEMENT WAS ALREADY ORDERED.

STILL NO REFUND FROM BAER AS OF 7/16/2012. UNBELIEVABLE!

I had previously purchased a large amount of furniture from Baer's Furniture Company. My credit is impeccable and never been questioned. When I placed my order I paid the one-half deposit using my American Express Platinum card. It was accepted willingly. Upon delivery of the furniture, which was exactly as ordered, the delivery men said that they cannot accept a credit card and that I must give them a check otherwise they will take back the furniture. I phoned their credit department at their store and was told that it is their policy to only accept checks upon delivery of the furniture. I asked their credit department to look up my records and see that I am an established customer. I was told that if I did not purchase any furniture in two years I am automatically considered a new account. Because I wanted the furniture to stay I reluctantly gave them a check. I was treated without any concern of past positive dealings with them.
