When I purchased my property, it had a gas tank provided by Americas and a gas pool heater. I contacted Amerigas in August of last year to change the lease for the tank to my name (from the prior owner). I specifically told the technician they sent for inspection that I did not want to have the gas tank filled up because we were in the midst of hurricane season and I did not need to use the pool heater in the summer anyway. When I signed up for service, I selected gas tank fill ups at my request only, so I did not think I had to worry about the tank being filled without my request. After the technician left, I also called their office to ask that they do not fill up the gas tank (hurricane season, summer, etc. etc.). The person who answered the phone said she understood and would make a note on my account. To my surprise, the next day the Amerigas truck was at my house wanting to fill up the tank. I asked the driver not to and explained my concerns again. He indicated he understood and left. To my very unpleasant surprise, a few days later I find a note saying that Amerigas filled up the tank and now I owed them over $300. I called the office - the person who responded said she sees no record of me telling them not to fill the tank. I asked to speak to a manager, nobody was available and I was promised a call back. I asked the same thing by email when (of course) Amerigas followed up on the bill for the service I specifically said I did not want - I was told by the person who answered the email that she would "look into it" but the issue was still not addressed. Needless to say, no manager ever called. I ended up paying the bill and now I will cancel my contract and I will replace the gas heater with an electric heater. Stay away from Amerigas, they are only looking to make a quick buck and don't care at all about their customers.

They are a wonderful company with wonderful customer service. During the hurricane my regular company was suppose to come out and fill my tank because I was down to 40% because we ran the generator for eight days. I called them everyday and they said I was on the schedule. I run a small assisted living community and I take care of hospice patients that need oxygen. I finally called Amerigas and they came and filled my tank an hour later. That's the type of people you want to deal with especially when your in the middle of a disaster. The gas was $2.79 a gallon because it was a commercial account. I would give them the highest rating I can, they saved lives. I was grateful they came. They have excellent people in the office and excellent people that came to my door. I would absolutely use them again.

Quoted one price, Billed at higher price, by Texas office, took multiple calls to get straightened out.  Good local people, but business is NOT local. Get hard copy of any conversations.

Amerigas provides my propane gas to the house. We rent the heater and they came to replace a valve at no charge. They're reliable and dependable.
