"We installed the Christmas lights on 11/1. We had an electrical issue that we where unable to fix without garage access. We went by the next day and fixed it. On 11/15 at 7:15 pm I received a message that there was an issue with the lights. I responded at 7:27pm that I would send someone out. The homeowner requested that we notify him when we were 20 minuets away. At 11:31am the homeowner requested an approximate time. I guessed, late afternoon. Around 6:30pm we were still trying to get a repair crew to his house. At 6:36pm homeowner started making threats and demanding a partial refund. At 7:23 homeowner claimed to have filed a dispute with AM/EX and wanted a 100% refund. At 7:39pm I offered to remove the lights and give him a 100% refund. The homeowner requested that I wait until Monday 11/19. I removed the lights and placed them in a tub near his front door and issued him a 100% refund. We have been hanging lights for 11 years. We average about 100 homes per year. I have never removed the lights from a paying customer or issued a refund in all of that time. This is part of our customer information form Electricity: Customer must provide clear access to safe electricity. "We did the job. Homeowner had concerns about installation of weed cloth. I agreed and sent the crew out to remove rock and reinstall weed cloth. Homeowner contacted us a few months later and I sent the crew out again to make additional adjustments. I hadn't heard back from the homeowner again until I read this review. Weed cloth is a barrier dirt and weed seeds can get on top of the weed cloth in a variety of ways. I've tried to work with the homeowner to correct the problem."
"We installed a tropical landscape last year. I went out and looked at the landscape in early March. I showed the homeowner that the majority of plants were not dead but had cold damage that needed to be cut back."
"I was hoping not to have to post a rebuttal. I met with the homeowner in early 2018. There were about 6 plants missing from the landscape. We discussed the uncertainty of why there was a communication breakdown between him and my crew leader. We corrected the problem and the homeowner hired us for an additional project that has been completed. I wrote this but didn't post hoping that the homeowner would update his review - Most of what the homeowner stated is accurate, however he did leave out a few key details. They scheduled multiple companies to do work on the same days that we were scheduled. We all worked around each other but it made it more difficult for everyone. As stated we came out to finish the work but were unable to plant about six plants. By the time that the leak had been repaired and because of scheduling difficulties, because the homeowner travels a lot. we had entered our busiest time of our year. I had the same crew leader who they had worked with and liked go back out to finish the project. We ended up spending extra time causing multiple trips on this project. We also installed 2 extra yards of rock. We did all of this at the original agreed upon price. This was a text from the homeowner after 99% of the project had been completed... 10/27 - Hi Chip, my wife saw the back area yesterday for the first time and loves it. I'm still trying to find someone to fix the waterfall so we can finish planting. No one seems to want to deal with it, but I'm still contacting people. Again I'm unsure of why we had a communication breakdown and ultimately that is my fault. However I don't feel that the communication issue was 100% The Garden Gnome's fault. I don't feel that the harsh review or grade reflects accurately the work that was done. And obviously the homeowner wouldn't have hired us to do additional work if he felt that way either."
